Middle mouse button and google search in URL bar

There are a couple of things that I really miss in K-meleon, and IMHO make browsing much faster:

- Middle button should open the link in a new window/layer. I can't understand why you didn't implement it. It's the most useful use i have for the middle button of my mouse.

- The option to enter a $keyword in the standard URL bar, then press "tab" to "Search Google for $keyword".

I think you also need to improve the layer bar, but that's not priority winking smiley

Am i the only one interested in those features???

I just wanted to add one thing more.

In bookmars, add an icon in every entry. It improves the UI a lot.

A lot of peopple have asked about the middle click thing.

the searching from the browser interface can be implemented in a number of different ways, from the toolbar or otherwise... search the forums for 'search macros'...

it's only recently that i've finally been able to TAB out of the URL field and onto the page... and now you want to take that away?! winking smiley

Is it the Favicon support you are asking for?
You should open an other discussion thread about that Yoda.

FYI, 51 bugs are reported today with this keyword in Mozilla (1.2): see the
Bugzilla querry. So it's not really a closed topic winking smiley

Today in Mozilla you can have a .ico .gif or a .png image (probably even a .bmp and possibly a .jpg) used as a "favicon", instead of the simple favicon.ico file used in IE.
in the header of the page you write
<link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="/image/favicon.ico" />
<link rel="ICON" href="/image/Moz_icon.png" type="image/png" />
in order to give a favicon to IE and an other one, if you wish so, to Mozilla browsers.

The picture displayed in Mozilla (when everything works and when the "browser.chrome.favicon" property is true) will be in the bookmark, in the URL bar and on the the tab.

The middle mouse button click to open a new layer is definitely a useful time-saver. (As an aside, I am curious to know why "layers" rather than "tabs"?)

The other useful things in Mozilla are the "New Tab" and "Delete Tab" buttons.

It was called Layers because it's not really tabs.

For most purposes, it does act like tabs but Layers actually uses a different method for displaying and managing windows.

How about the 4th and 5th mouse button support, as in 4th button= backspace key and/or alt. key + left arrow key, and the 5th mouse button=alt. key + right arrow key. These are functions that to Me would be a worth while add on to K-Meleon 0.8x.

Zoom,

Those are in the latest Mozilla code. Our next full release will include support for those buttons.

Thanks, Now I can hardly wait, but I will. K-Meleon has become My Favorite Browser, And speaking of Favorites, When I to go to Favorites I have to use Config everytime I launch K-Meleon so that config will be right under the Favorites area. Also How do I set this browser up as the default? I'm thinking of deinstalling Mozilla 1.3b, It doesn't block pop-ups as well as K-Meleon.
