Alex, there doesn't need to be a folder named "classic" for the skin - it was only there for compatibility with SeaMonkey 1.x. Now that everybody moved on (even K-Meleon) it is unnecessary. Please see the announcement here, it lists in particular the known issues with the current development builds: https://adblockplus.org/development-builds/adblock-plus-for-k-meleon-development

@Anony Mous: I see that as well on Win XP SP2 - but only if you click "File" with the mouse. Using the keyboard (Alt+F) works fine.

@JujuLand: Yes, everything works now. But it is Adblock Plus 0.7.5.3 which is not compatible with K-Meleon 1.5. Version 0.7.5.4 (compatible with K-Meleon 1.5, at least if you remove components/profile.dll) came out two days ago.

No, the link goes to http://perso.orange.fr/jujuland46/JujuLand/KMES/KMES191_adblockplus.zip and it is still 404.

And it is still shipping with a dysfunctional profile.dll :-( I am now recommending Adblock Plus users to remove chrome/profile.dll when installing in K-Meleon 1.5. This component is unused and not initialized properly - yet there is no way for Adblock Plus to recognize that. Edit: Filed bug 1002 on that issue.

JujuLand, I tried downloading Adblock Plus from your site but both downloads give me 404. Anyway, just to be sure you know: Adblock Plus 0.7.5.4 is out.

I just uploaded a development build for Adblock Plus that supports K-Meleon 1.5: http://adblockplus.org/development-builds/more-robust-k-meleon-support Unfortunately, that build crashes K-Meleon 1.1, I am still investigating this issue. However, in K-Meleon 1.5a1 everything seems to work fine. I hope you guys will try it out - I changed a lot and there might be bugs that I didn't notice.

guenter, thanks - I wasn't aware of these translations. They aren't Unicode-enabled either but rather use GB2312 encoding, meaning that I can use the same trick as with the Russian version.

I wonder - who is Wicktor Pallant? Do I know him? guenter, I wonder whether a Chinese K-Meleon can exist - as far as I can see K-Meleon has major issues with Unicode support. But if somebody pointed me to one, I would make Adblock Plus compatible of course.

noel-pg2: I think the installation instruction mentions how you add a menu item. This cannot be done automatically, not with the way K-Meleon configures its menus.

Why don't you test it and tell me then? Whatever, I installed 1.1 RC myself - everything looks fine with Adblock Plus 0.7.5.1. And the abp: links work as well now (sadly, it wasn't even a K-Meleon user who reported this issue).

Actually, I changed Adblock Plus now to catch this error. So Adblock Plus 0.7.5.1 (due in the next few days) should work with Pocket K-Meleon as well.

I think Pocket K-Meleon replaces the standard profile.dll with kprofile.dll which is pretty much broken. It implements exactly the functions to get the browser running, anything else will not work. And Adblock Plus needs to know whether the profile is ready to be accessed at some point - a function it doesn't provide.

There is also a third problem with ads: privacy and security issues. Ads are often used to track users, they also present a security risk (see http://adblockplus.org/blog/80-of-malware-served-through-ads). Hiding ads doesn't solve this problem either. Btw, Adblock Plus can hide ads. The filter rule '##a img' will work in the same way userContent.css works. With all the same disa

guenter, K-Meleon 1.1 is only supported by the development builds, see http://adblockplus.org/development-builds/k-meleon-11-compatibility-issues-fixed The registration should happen fully automatically, usually it is really only necessary to unpack the files.

PS: I have trouble understanding why people will spend hours trying to hack around issues instead of contacting the author of the extension and telling him that an update is necessary. Just so it is clear: I made a version of Adblock Plus for K-Meleon and I will make sure it works with future versions of K-Meleon as well. But I don't have the time to test every single alpha version, especial
