QuoteZoohooter @bellgamin curious what system are you using? I just completed Fred's initial instructions and it worked like like a charm red=enabled green=disabled. XP Home SP3 KM 1.5.4 Works great for me too. I use a programme called Pocomail. It must use SSL3 since I can access my gmail accounts with no problem today. I have it setup to use SSL, with pop3 incoming, (pop,gmail.com) using port 995, and for outgoing smtp, (smtp.gmail.com) using port 587. Works like a charm for me.

I have used HostsMan http://www.abelhadigital.com/ for years. It comes bundled with HostsServer. The most recent release also features Optimize which essentially (I believe) organises the hosts file entries into strings. The kicker with a Hosts file, is that

QuoteAirSpirit It's so unpleasant to browse Internet full of ads. Have you considered using a hosts file? I use Hostsman (http://www.abelhadigital.com/) and it cleans up a lot of it.

Somewhat related to your query, but I use Hostsman (http://www.abelhadigital.com/) to manage a hosts file and block ad servers. Keep in mind that a hosts file only blocks complete domains, but it works well for me.

QuoteFred This compares only the javascript speed. Javascript is not everything, personally I use it rarely, and enable it only, if a website does not work at all without it, or if I need a certain function that I want on a particular website. The javascript speed also depends on the power of your computer. Fred I agree. I have Javascript disabled, (using KMLite 1.1.2), and only enable i

I have to agree. I never spoof. But then, most of my web browsing is to information based sites only, not social trivia. Even my online banking accepts my browser, KMLite user string, Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.23) Gecko/20090825 KMLite/1.1.2

O'K, I uploaded KMLite 1.1.2.zip to http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=0747281a8af793a25bf1f12f1ff3f30ae04e75f6e8ebb871 I guess the upload I did a few months ago was time limited. Note this is the original file using Gecko 1.8.1.19. desga2's Gecko upgrade works perfect. The only trick is to use the correct version KMLite = K-Meleon 1.5.x be sure to change the default install fo

I have no idea about that error message. I have never encountered it. I only have the two themes. Kronos, (which is included with KMLite,) and NinjaStripe_small which I included in the zip pa

O'K, I don't have much experience with these things, but I uploaded KmLite 1.1.2. zip. Let's see if this works. http://www.mediafire.com/?scyxb0yidgz Note this is the original file using Gecko 1.8.1.19. I successfully upgraded to Gecko 1.8.1.21 using desga2's upgrade. http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,91209 Hope this works!
