Vista is kinda quirky with the new Aero theme. I actually had to switch back to the Windows Classic theme cause it was bothering me that I could barely see highlighting and such.

If someone wants to make changes to the kmeleon-update.nsi and send it to me, so that it is smarter about locations, I'll be glad to accept it... I'm not really a developer anymore, I'm just a user with a technical history who still knows how to hack in the classic sense. My experience with NSIS is limited.

The proper User-Agent you should see is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12pre) Gecko/20071211 K-Meleon/1.1.3 If you didn't get that, make sure to kill all instances of K-Meleon.exe first, including the loader. It will not update properly otherwise.

I'm not sure about accesiblemarshal.dll... I replaced all matching DLLs unless there was a specific reason why not to. Next update, I'll remove res\ since its not strictly needed. In about:config, show: general.useragent.override, you can add the string.

Hm, I'm not sure what it was compiled with. I used latest tinerbox build of seamonkey 1.8pre. It might be VC++ 6... gotta give it a try. Here is a 7zip'd version of the directory that I use to build the installer from, as well as the copy script (uses cygwin). I've not had experience with pocket before, but I think it should work like how you explained?

I announced this is in another topic, but figures it deserves its own. K-Meleon 1.1.3 Gecko 1.8.1.12pre Update This gets applied over KM 1.1.3. I fixed a problem with page loading (cant update chrome.*). Also, something to help with compatibility, set this as your user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12pre) Gecko/20071211 K-Meleon/1.1.3 Firefox/2.0.0.1

Okay, I figured out what is breaking the update I was doing (and excluded the chome.* in components). May I present, K-Meleon 1.1.3-gecko1.8.12pre. Also, something to help with compatibility, set this as your user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12pre) Gecko/20071211 K-Meleon/1.1.3 Firefox/2.0.0.11

I've not tried to graft on 1.8.1.11 yet, I will try to do it this week and get back to you'all. You can get the: Full KM 1.1.2 with 1.8.1.8: http://rapidshare.com/files/63234238/K-Meleon1.1.2a-1.8.1.8.exe Update only: http://rapidshare.com/files/63103524/kmeleon112-geck1818-update.exe But remember both have been obsoleted by 1.1.3. And for the record, I'm a she

Yes, I did not work correctly, which is quite odd.

I seem to have stumbled upon a problem with registering k-meleon as the default browser in Win Vista. Seems they changed the way the whole default application thing works, and it does not support the old style any further. Mozilla/Firefox already fixed this issue. I'm kinda stumped at what needs to be done, but thats because I'm somewhat behind on programming since I've not

GRE updates also fix rendering bugs and such. There was a point in time during the old KM 0.9 development that I couldn't get google maps to work reliably - it wasn't until I started playing with the GRE and switching different dll and xpt files that it finally worked. Thankfully, as long as you stay within the same GRE version line (1.7 for KM 0.9 or 1.8 for 1.x), the updates are i

Yes it is. If a non-english build of the installer is needed, I can do that too, just give me a list of langs.

Okay, done! The installer is built as KM 1.1.2a, Started out with 1.1.1, then updated it to 1.1.2, then added my extra stuff on top of it. If for the time being someone wants to make this an official update or release, I'm open to the idea.

I can make a single installer/updater if people want me to... Can someone point me to the location of K-Meleon 1.1.2's NSIS build file (has a .nsi extension)?

Yes, I am back, I've done another GRE update, using pieces from KM 1.5a's Gecko engine and put them into KM 1.1.2. K-Meleon 1.1.2 Gecko 1.8.1.8 Update I probably wont be doing this all too often, but I figured, WTH! Just like old times. Working on slightly better file hosting too... But for now, on rapidshare.

I'm using it right now, its kinda slick. I haven't had any problems just yet. I'd say its real competition to K-Meleon, but there doesn't have to be conflict. Both browsers are here for a reason. I'm not giving up K-Meleon, but I think that Safari could be my second choice.

I don't see how an update for PNRP would affect WMP and K-Meleon: "This update enables Windows XP SP2-based programs that use PNRP to communicate with Windows Vista programs that use PNRP." In fact, looking at the files it changes, none of the things are related to WMP and similar.

QuoteDorianHave you seen this Brian Brun's post? http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,71757 Hao has find it to be a great improvement to see videos online, may it be a good add for the 1.1? If it's redistribuable, small and could satisfy those saying that wmp doesn't work, I don't see any objection. Based on my reading of the license, I don't think distri

I can't quite remember if I saw in the forums if anyone has bothered to shove the Firefox WMP plugin into K-Meleon. So, I did a while back, and thought I'd share how I did it exactly. 1) Download unpacked version of the WMP Firefox plugin here (or try here if that link does not work). In theory, you could easily unpack the exe microsoft provides, but its a pain (I used 7zip/lessm

For what its worth, when Brian was doing the updates to 0.9, here is the cygwin shell script used to create the update. I can also send a copy of the NSI script used to build the installer if someone wants to give it a shot. Its ugly as hell, but it worked. It was easy back then to do... But the size had to be increased towards the end of 1.7.13 in order to accomidate all the changes that w
