Hum ... I didn't remember why I wrote this post, but I suppose it was about searching a solution to have no more to use MFC libraries, and make a real K-Meleon linux port. It never has been developped, and I'm suprised that 7 years after, someone answers to this post... Now, I rarely use K-Meleon under Linux, even I have made some tools to improve its use under Linux (using win

I'm migrating from Ubuntu 12.04 to Xubuntu 16.04 on a machine, and I'll probably do the same for my principal desktop. I don't like too much Lubuntu, which is faster, but a little tricky, for my use. You can install wine, it ought not to slow your os. The only problem I found is that there is no 64 bits build, and wine needs a lot of 32 bits packets. If you use 32 bits linux b

Under linux, with Opera file://localhost/home/alain/so.html is equivalent to : file:///home/alain/so.html Under linux with K-Meleon file://localhost/Z:/home/alain/so.html is equivalent to file:///Z:/home/alain/so.html So, localhost is really not necessary in all cases  A+

Principally, the ennoying point is the 'print to pdf' function which doesn't work (the pdf created is empty) ... but using the preview function of JamesD will probably make the job, after some little modifications that I haven't yet had time to finish :s Another minor point is the reset of zoom. For other points, the solution I gave with km-open is satisfactory. The o

As Firefox is to heavy for old computers, I use Opera. Just a problem with some websites with flashplayer. With Ubuntu 12.04, Midori was not top. Another which can be nice is Qpzilla, but I can't build the last version with 12.04 (needs QT 5.x not available for 12.04), and some problems occurs with modern websites with old version. But you can always use K-Meleon, an nice browser :coo

You don't need to clean the disk before (no need of partitionWizard), the install does it without problem. If you choose to have home partitn separated as I tell, during the install you just need to delete the partitions and create the linux one (ext4). That's all folks A+

Linux 'Simple Scan' seems not to be able to find the Canon 9000f scanner, but it seems that installing the linux canon drivers + a Canon proprietary program scangearmp works. You can see this thread here (in french): https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1693101 Another search where it seems to have solutions (in english) with 'Simple scan': http://meshfields.de

There is no problem with printers and scanner. Some are completly reconized by linux like HP. Some need complementary drivers, like Epson or Canon. I have more problems with Lexmarks. I haven't been able to make it work for an old Dell printer. You can download linux canon drivers here: http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2013/07/canon-drivers-for-ubuntu-and-linux-mint/ http:/

Hi, Quotesiriaopentab("file:///".$_pfrv_filespec); I tried it, and I think it must be like this, but the problem is not here. K-Meleon which is a windows program uses windows style path, and, if I want to use a linux program to see pdf I must transform windows path to linux path. I had a program which calls the linux program with linux path, and I must call it (km-open) to be abl
