Thanks for the answer. It was so funny, because the language setting was only defunct in K-Meleon. None of my other 5 browsers or the system were effected. But after a nights rest (in sleep mode), things came back to order all by themselves. Eerie things happen sometimes.

I use a German keyboard where the y and z are inverted relative to a qwerty keyboard. All of the sudden, out of the blue sky, K/Meleon inverts those and also all the special characters: in other words, it does not recognize my language setting for the keyboard any more. No other browser nor Vista do that. What is going on and how can I fix that. PS What a pain to get anything typed halfway cor

It does not happen in IE. The Forum I visit the most uses bbPress, another one uses vBulletin, and for Neowin I do not know the name of their engine. It is one that many other Fora use too.

It has 3 English options - US, GB, CDN. That's all (I think).

Here is a new problem I encounter. When I am reading on one of the Forums I visit, I sometimes click on a link that is posted. But when I return to the original Forum page, it puts me on the beginning of the page rather than to the place from where I was coming. Then I have to always navigate back to the post I was on. Is there a setting that I am missing?

Thanks guenter. It works. One additional question: My IE spellchecker proposes a selection of correctly spelled words for misspelled ones. Your spellchecker apparently does not do that - it just underlines. Or am I missing something? Here is what I mean:

Great - got a little further. It now shows the Spell Checker upon right click and misspelled words have a red underline, but en-US is greyed out. What do I do now? I remember something regarding the dictionaries but forgot the details. Btw: guenter, eventually I would like a German and French dictionaries too because I often go on Forums in those languages. English is just an accomodation during

Thanks. Got Wikipedia to work. Downloaded the Spellchecker. Not sure how this thing installs - there is no .exe.

In IE I have this nifty spell checker and Wikipedia lookup plug-in. All I do is highlight the word in question and in the right click menu I find those options. Is there something equivalent for K.Meleon?

This was well said. The order of the day should be:"Keep it simple". Who needs bells and whistles.

Thanks again for the answers. Unfortunately there is no progress. 1. I have vers. 1.5.2 on Vista 2. I have not tried to reinstall yet 3. The "right click on the K-Meleon folder" - I am not sure which folder we are talking about. The one in All Programs, in Program files on C:\ or which else. In any case, I did not see any "dialogue" setting. 4. I did delete the .ini, but t

Thanks for the answer but it does not work either. In fact, I discovered that no bookmarks are being kept from session to session - even not the ones I have set in a K-Meleon session. Very strange.

I am new to this browser and like to make a few setups. I have figured out how to import the IE favorites with Bookmark > Edit. Unfortunately they are gone next time I log on. How do I make them permanent?
