Couldn't stop myself from creating a new macro, blowing up the first beautiful microscopic example just to add some menu settings. But it does now use that great solution with adding the hostname in the pref names, thanx But am running into a major prob again: As soon as a user zooms the "page", which is the default action for mousewheel-zoom, the size looks completely differ

It can start from every page. Hit F2 and put that adress into field for "Home Page". PS: Please post questions in General forum, not Improvement forum, unless you want ALL users to have this as homepage ;-)

QuoteJamesDDid not another user note the same problem with the Save As Button? It might be good to check and see who reported it and what operating system they use. Looks like the search returned only you, guenter. Note to self - don't trust memory. You can trust it - that was me Except that it was another button, one of my own macro buttons. I tried to find some system in it, but no c

What a fantastic little default variable! Thanks for explaining, so even the two ID-lines can now be dropped. And sounds really easy to just store the domains with site-specific zoom in the prefs. This could really become a handy default function, next to default page zoom But now am confused about the GETpref lines: So far I know this only with 2 arguments - what does the 3rd do?

@James: Nice - I like And learned something again: Never knew about $TextZoom before! But the code is a bit too javascriptish for my taste, couldn't resist playing with it ;-) Quote_EaseRead_AutoRun { $_zoom="12"; # if (hostname($URL) == "kmeleon.sourceforge.net") $_zoom="16"; if (hostname($URL) == "www.example2.com") $_zoom="14";

Quoteguenter Quotesiria But writing into a km pref I'd much prefer. Is there a JS command to write a km pref? Any deeper reason why don't You use the kmm to set it? What I keep saying all the time: because of the line-order-bug since KM1.6 Macro commands do not wait anymore until a script command in the previous macro line is finished, but execute FIRST. For example in line-1 you

Not sure why, but now everything works again, in KM1.6! I did restart the browser for other reasons, but perhaps this had an influence? Perhaps after toggling SSL3 "off" something more is involved that only gets set after a restart? Or perhaps they did update their servers? Anyway, glad it works again, doesn't matter which reasons :-)

QuoteJamesDYears ago the limit was very small for what could be on an 'exec' statement in the Macro Language. Finally did a test with my own macro using kko's old scripts. Relieved to find that a 400+ signs URL for testing got transfered without any probs into the shortcut via exec(wscript...$_JSpath...$_favUrl...$_favTitle...$_favFolder) Looking at the contents with a text edi

No, it has neither :-/ There are two similar ones that were "false", but toggling true didn't help either. Now that google suddenly works again (or was it somehow my fault??), I'm hoping they just changed their sever settings, and that mobile twitter and FB will soon start working too again...

In KM1.6: Google search does NOT work anymore if SSL3 is disabled. (Update: now it suddenly works again, funny) Amazon seems to work. mobile twitter and facebook don't work since about 2 days, that's why I started to investigate in the first place, and now suspect the poodle may have to do with it. With or without SSL3, no chance. Just curious, is it their servers, or do mobile

Oh... there is a limit to exec-lines? Oops, never heard, now am a bit worried. Should probably do some tests, but well, like you too... not now

From what I remember, ASCII means basically english characters only, while ANSI contains most european languages, incl. german umlauts äöü and french ê etc., and Unicode has worldwide languages incl. chinese font etc. Should probably look it up again, but not enough time ;-P I do have the impression that most people on the net commonly think that ASCII=ANSI (wrong) But am surprised about

QuoteguenterWhile km runs the current prefs.js is a copy in memory. So it is not worth while to add Your changes then. It is written to file when km is shut down. Sure, but it's also written to disk during the session all the time, and those edits are all that remains after a crash. But in my version (with old session titles) that temp-file is still in UTF-8...

Perhaps as a list of the names in a long variable, but not sure how long that could be (PS: Just recently discovered in main.kmm a prepared macro for list items, looks quite interesting). But no urgent matter. What I'm thinking more and more often though is that a aphabetically sorted toolbars menu would be handy! With a bunch of user macros that list gets just too long if unsorted. A

That's dangerous as hell, evil people can fake domain names with similar looking characters from other languages :-( At least there's this punycode thing, that makes it more recognizable. Anyway, my KM1.6 prefs.js is in "UTF-8 without BOM" acc. to Notepad++ Have tons of sessions stored inside, strongly suspect it's because some page titles have special characters. P

Stumbled over this ancient macro in the obsolete KM1.0 archiv: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/Toggling+toolbars Crazy! It's actually possible to toggle toolbars with a macro by using id(2000) or id (2001) .... 200x!! It also makes that the toolband-pref for visibility gets toggled. The catch is: those numbers are not fix, can be different for every user :-( Basically the cou

Still based on the old KM1.0 version (&JSenable etc.), and can't work fully. But kko posted a new KM1.5 version already in the wiki in 2008: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,27152,page=3 QuotekkoKmmShortcut now works in both km 1.1 and 1.5 (no edition required). Have now added a remark to the old version wiki page.

Same as for the menu bar: View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Some toolbars do exist but are switched off by default, which makes most people overlook them :-( And I'd most highly recommend to take a look at the privacy bar, it has some toggle buttons for javascript, cookies etc, and yet more buttons are prepared in toolbars.cfg but not activated by default. There are now finally some

Ah, interesting! So no even platform.ini shows the correct version, sigh. There really should be one reliable place for it, and if possible hard-coded. In some defaut pref and also in readme-page. Yogi: that right-click crash with g31 will be fixed in next version, Dorian already mentioned he just forgot some css, so guess that should be easy.

Kenn mich ja nicht aus mit Mozillas immer rasanterem Versionskarussell, aber Dorian hat vor ein paar Tagen schon eine Testversion mit ESR31 gepostet.

It's a normal toolbar. RIGHT-click on a free space right of a button (if there is none, move a button toolbar a bit to the left, or click at the extreme right border of the browser window). There appears a menu with "toolbars", it has the toggle for "menu" bar too. Or, depending on your current skin, left- or right-click on the Config-Button, then menu View>Toolbar

KM1.6 is much outdated, should be used only if the new version KM74 doesn't work an a very old system, that is on win98 (needs kernelEx for 1.6) and win2000 (can run 74 with dll-wrappers or such tricks). And even on those old systems better install the unofficial version 1.6beta2.6 by JamesD, it has far less bugs. Anyway, if you do need 1.6 and it has such probs, that vcredist thing must

Yes. Funnily the UA shows something different, but they say that's a gecko bug. But platform.ini should be the real one.

There were some discussions about such flash probs, but can't remember too much. Guess there were no general solutions that work for everyone and seems to depend on several things, but others can tell better. Would recommend to search the forum for the last weeks. Just curious: does it get better with those pref settings? (accessible on "about:config" page): dom.ipc.plugins.e

Quoteguenter Save{ ID_FILE_SAVE_AS &Save Page As... mainbarhot.bmp[5] mainbarcold.bmp[5] mainbarcold.bmp[5] } Its icon is part of main bar's bmp. And when I deactivate the bar/button in 7431 it is present again after a restart. Maybe its kmm or the save ID cause or have to do with it? Just wondered if the & in the tooltip line might play a role? For translations to

Finally got some screenshots ready for the wiki. That system is really a pain, not even linking from thumbs to bigger pics possible :-/ That made me go a bit creative, and looks much better now IMHO, but the two direct pics are much bigger. Dorian please have a look if it's okay? If yes I'll copy that (in english) to the other 8 languages. 4-5 of them were last updated with KM0.9

In F2>macros there are two native ones declared as "user-defined": places.kmm + tuxhelper.kmm On my crappy Vista machine the vertical toolbar lines don't vanish when hidden. They do get thinner, but not enough. No idea, perhaps depends on windows theme etc.. They are locked too. PS: Unlocked it looks exactly as in James screenshots above! Quite thick vertically.

kmeleon.tabs.multiline in KM74.0: It works great if tab width min=max, but buggy if a greater max-value: All lines show same number of tabs (5+5 / 6+6 / ...), and if an uneven number (7/9/11 tabs), the last one vanishes from the tab bar. It is still accessible via "tab next/previous" buttons. (Vista offline)

Just to point out clearly again, to reduce non-intuitive misunderstandings: Which buttons exist, or are hidden, or don't exist at all, what they do at left-click, what they do at right-click, which toolbar names are there: Except for a few macro-created buttons this mostly all depends on the toolbars.cfg in the current skin folder, and on the look and size of the images in it. BUT that do
