Please check my post above, we posted at the same time Your green files are not absolutely necessary for functioning but they don't harm either, you can keep them. "Disrupted" = the guy who maintains the kmext-archive (kmext.sf.net), your 2nd link in very first post ;-) Did an explorer search for "spell"-files in my installation KM1.6beta2, which obviously needs for spelling only this: kplugins/spelltest.dll (date 2011-01-13, - created by Mark, contained in Disrupted's extension on kmext.sf.net) macros/SpellCheck.kmm (dat

That update sounds interesting Anyway, I'd first do this: 1) look in F2 > K-Meleon Plugins if "spelltest" is checked? 2) delete the 2 dat-files in the components folder and restart KM 3) go to about:config and check if perhaps the spellchecker is simply disabled, although this is rather unlikely. Can only have been switched off manually before. Anyway, filter for &quo

QuoteleopoldusSorry, but what shoud be the name of this .kmm file the folder K-Meleon\macros? The only file there, which could be connected in any way to the spellchecking, is the KMEShelper.kmm, but there is no any paths at all inside this file.:O That would explain why it doesn't work for you - you don't have it installed! The kmm starts with "spell..." But oops... after

Perhaps that one...? F2 > Browsing > Window diversion > URLs passed from external applications Or perhaps it has something do do with commandline options? They are in Help>FAQ somewhere... Thinking about it, wasn't there some very similar request in the last weeks here? Just where... Anyway, since the browser has tabs enabled by default, it would IMHO make a lot of sen

Not sure about "old" spellchecker files in KM1.6, if it harms, but would think this can well cause problems... Better remove them. QuoteleopoldusI've found some instructions how to install spellcheckers http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/SpellChecker?version=7 If you look at that url, it is an outdated "version" of the page! Please remove the stuff after "...

Okay, every six weeks a few more bugfixes So it looks like they switched from "major changes" on X.X.0 numbers and yet bigger ones on full numbers X.0.0, to major changes on X0.0.0 - just moving a dot one number to the left side, who cares? Cannot take that idiocy seriously sorry, it's just playing with numbers like faking (oops polishing) statistics...

Oh, another  That's a kinda weird thing that happened to a few others before, although for each with another character! Crazy. First assumed it were beta-related, but then it happened even on KM154! Am not sure if anyone found a reason or solution yet, think rather not, at least I can't remember... Searched around and found two other threads: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/re

Speaking of whitelist, I recently struggled but found no way to whitelist that image here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deborah_Sampson Tried with: img, img, But no way. What am I doing wrong, anyone enlighten me?? For now I've decided, to not miss false positives but not get bothered with ads either, to just minimize them and put a red dotted border around, instead of setting the b

The problem is also, once anyone posted something in the KM wiki, google will keep it as a hit forever! If you google for anything (e.g. classiria), google will list the old versions of the wiki pages as hits, and the outdated "live" version as well as googles cached version of it will work fine. Those hits will stay fully valid forever, at least for search engines I'm really s

Yes - you simply have javascript blocked FlashBlock is based on JS commands, that means it doesn't work if JS is blocked (flash runs), so it's intentionally grayed out.

One thing I keep wondering, is why in most macros the tools path is spelled "Tools", yet the folder is actually "tools". Perhaps that's why on some systems/configurations sometimes a macro won't work? I do remember that such spelling differences kept one of my own macros from working, until I figured it out. On the other hand, one of those "Tools" macros r

If there are direct links to the bigger images (not to some intermediate html for each), and if there are not too many too huge images (RAM limit?), then K-Meleon has a quite nice native function: View > Linked images They open one below the next in one long page, and this page can then be saved with File > Save Page As > Web Page Complete Example page for trying: http://kmel

But you haven't installed the little macro yet, which adds the new menu option ;-) Copy the blue text into notepad and save as "toggleprefImgSrc.kmm" in a macros folder. Make sure to save as "all files" option, must not have a .txt ending! After restarting the browser the menu will offer "Block Image Roll-Over": _________________________________ # Creat

Basically no prob, rather fun, a tiny macro that just toggles a pref. But do you really want a toolbar button?? Have an image for it? Should it show the pressed state? Uhm, starting to turn into "work"... ;-) Or perhaps you have the Privacy Bar visible, and it would suffice to add this toggle on a right-click menu of the javascript button? That would be a whole lot easier and shor

Just fiddled again endlessly with that ten year old gecko bug, that it deletes the whole cache after a crash, it's really incredible they do nothing about it all that time: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105843 But that great cachefixer workaround still works fine in KM1.6b2! If I read it right, all it does is remove that "dirty cache" flag in the cache_map at st

When opening a K-Meleon folder from the browser menu: Edit > Configuration > Macros etc. my explorer opens in the worst possible way: NO sidebar for folders, NO dates, NO size, NO nothing That was the win98 default config by microsoft, but guess in some newer systems it's still so incredibly crappy Sorry, just my opinion Anyway, if you have the same prob and hate it, it's

Am no expert there, others know more. Only have read that sometimes people had that problem when using some "cleaning up" program, or special security settings... Then again, have some doubts if in that case KM would produce a new bookmarks_backup each time?? Click Edit > Configuration > Profile directory that opens the file explorer of your system. Can you check there if yo

Oops - Darn, first major bug found, and it's my fault!! :-( Had not intended it at the time for publishing, was only half-way finished yet. And now last week didn't spend much time on checking it again. But now when looking at your mini-version, it downright jumped into my eyes! BUG: The first line without # (after startup) deletes a possibly already existing list of various policy

QuotedeadlockWorked with F5-refresh but not automatically. Enabling and disabling some Javascript-options enabled immediate switching in KM 1.54 and KM 1.6. Interesting - which options were that? <curious> If disabling or enabling takes more time, not sure, but guess both actions usually "feel" rather similar time-wise. QuotedeadlockTested KM 1.6 with chrome and config

Hmm, if you think it's okay for a mini-blacklister... Would like to add that stupid workaround for longer strings first, and condense the macro myself, but facing reality, that could take some days until I get around or some years, so... Perhaps post your own mini-version just here for now? ;-)

Lots of answers can be found in Help > FAQ  Anyway, you have your profile-folder write-protected. If you don't know how to unlock it, and have nothing customized yet, you'd best place your profile into the windows user folder. How: Delete file "profile.ini" in c://program files/K-Meleon (your path may vary) After next browser start you have a new default profi
