Guys, you just accidentally have hit F11, the key for "fullscreen" mode! QuoteJohn AtkinsonExperimented by trying F2,GUI Appearance,Full Screen. Found the 3 Hide boxes checked. Unchecked them - problem solved. Congrats, but despite now seeing more toolbars, you're still in fullscreen mode By default this has no toolbars, though they can be switched on one by one if desired.

Glad you got it working too, topor! One more in the tiny win98 community running KM1.6 QuoteMXB Perhaps this might help. I had a similar problem with menu icons that looked wrong (black background) when I changed to Opera 10.5 (IIRC) and I fixed it by installing a DLL. I've since forgotten the details but could find out. WAAH - YES, please do!! That might well be that little missing pu

Just tried your link in KM1.6beta2, and the page seems to work normally with it (as long as javascript is allowed) The images look fine and load fast, it just takes rather long until the voting results are displayed, and while those are loading, there's a certain little placeholder for them, a little orange+white circle with 4 "fields" in it. Haven't tried in KM154 though.

QuoteGarthwhile pages are loading, I cannot use keyboard accelerators Yes, e.g. I cannot use F5 to reload an active tab while some background tab is still loading. Only when the loading icon is gone in it, the active tab will "get" F5.

Simply because you've kept the default settings about which "warnings" you wanna see. I suppose if those warnings were switched off by default, that would be "less secure", since people are not made aware that nearly all websites except a few exceptions are transmitted unencrypted. You can see that also in other browsers, guess most have that little "lock" symbo

You're not alone: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=120563314673582&topic=1059 They have a mistake in their site, and Firefox users have the same prob. In other discussions someone said after downgrading his Firefox from FF3.6.x to FF3 that thing worked again for him. Would a fake FF3 user agent string help anything, anyone feel like trying? Otherwise you'll have to us

The KEM manager from kmext.sf.net containes a 7z.dll plugin, and a 7z.exe So yes, it is automatically included It lands in the directory "tools". If I want to find out such things before installing, I just click on the xxx.7z link, and instead of "save" choose "open", that shows a list of all the contained files and their folder structure.

Quoteolurhinowhy do i have to go that far before i could get the other tabs? why cant they be displayed on the tool bar just like yahoo and firefox. But they are displayed that way, so are you really sure that you're not simply overlooking it?? Just a guess, you wouldn't be the first ;-) Depending from your settings the tab bar can appear either on top or at the bottom of your

Is that after a new installation? Perhaps try with that "If you have problems" link from the download page, right below the 1.6 download link...

You somehow managed to lose writing rights in your profile folder. Open that folder with Edit > Configuration> Profile folder, go one level higher and right-click on that folder (random name) to check the security settings. Is that folder inside the programs folder, or inside your windows user account? The latter should usually allow custom changes. But since this happened only later,

Oh well, everyone has his own preferences and tricks and that's the great thing about KM. And some people like to customize the names of their profile folders. That's fine and certainly helpful if they know what they're doing exactly, but frankly, uhm, if that's not the case anymore... To me it just seems getting a bit too complicated now, if you're already confusing yo

QuoteguenterMaybe You should have rather lost a few words about KernelEx using K-Meleon1.6. But I have, LOTS of, which he will easy find if using the right spelling

Hmm, that doesnt look good. Perhaps that one..? Opera/9.23 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) It's possible that the site uses a 'modern' script that requires KM1.6 Or perhaps it can be worked around in KM1.5x with some user css, but have no idea. That sort of 'old-engine-bugs' happen more and more often and are what make me prefer KM1.6beta nowadays, although that has a f

QuoteguenterWhat You can do in this case is install kernelx. That lets You use K-Meleon 1.6beta2 and some Firefox versions that can still ccess most webmail pages. There will be lots more hits if spelling it "KernelEx", it has 2 "e" ;-) I'm happily running KM1.6beta on win98se (german version), thanks to KernelEx

Uhm, would recommend to click on "Spelltest 2" to download a "normal" extension, which contains the folder structure. It can be unzipped directly into the KM root folder, as usual. No more actions required except restarting of course. The other link on dhost is the older original "experts install" version, where files have to be sorted manually

Uhm, that path name should be the same as your current profile (sub)folder, it certainly matters ;-)

Looks like you started with one of the few rather complicated extensions, but believe me, most KM macros consist just of one lonely kmm-file which goes into the macros folder! Since you say you tried to install the extensions manager (KEM), you probably have already seen those pages, but let me post the links again for others: http://kmext.sourceforge.net/help.htm http://kmext.sourceforge.n

If you do extract the zip into the root folder as written everywhere, they automatically go into their corresponding subfolders, or if not yet existing, create them. They are already contained in the zip, subfolders too ;-)

Interesting... Wonder what file or folder causes that exactly. Have that prob too, except Quotewhich is a considerable period of time for sites like nytimes.com Hitting the stop button a couple times stops the loading usually. The escape key should do the same, but not always it seems... Then again, am surfing without javascript most of the time, and thinking about it, yes I think sometimes

Crazy... But glad it works now!! Could it be that there's some prob with creating a new profile the first time or something??? And Freds version created one in your user account, and at next start KM1.6beta found it? Just a wild guess.

Oh, had thought it happened only in 1.6alphabeta, too weird that now it's also in 1.5.4. Not the slightest idea why, but think there were already 3-4 people in the last year with that prob, but each one with another character!! Really confusing... Guess at some point it was suggested to delete the history, especially URL bar history (Right-click on Go-button), but can't remember if it

Ah, CLEVER!! Yet more solutions to that old prob of selecting parts of a link text. Just my cup of tea, Find-As-You-Type and Unselect too. Added right away that command to my menu too, thanks for the tip Just not sure where to place it, for the moment added it in 2 menus, Edit and Link context. Could also go into the "Select" menu, then it appears below "select all". But it
