Found the answer It's a UA problem :O The landing page https://www.yr.no/place/Australia/Western_Australia/Perth/ generates this XML warning: Warning: window.controllers is deprecated. Do not use it for UA detection. Source file: https://www.yr.no/Scripts/OpenLayers-2.13.1/OpenLayers.versjonert.Ulxy8mi6VtIwvn4Nj_1vWnfQN7M.js Line: 588 So, quickly tell the web admins to get sens

I've tried to stay out of this one, but well... Go to https://www.yr.no/place/Australia/Western_Australia/Perth/hour_by_hour_detailed.html. See my post here in this General Forum. Pale Moon displays it well, as does IE11. Unfortunately, this page has 484 markup errors, and 48 CSS errors. KM is fault-intolerant, and will break any poorly assembled site. I have no expectation this wi

Normally KM works well (enough), but on Yr's detailed page ( https://www.yr.no/place/Australia/Western_Australia/Perth/hour_by_hour_detailed.html ) the meteogram is overlaying on the first few hours of the detailed forecast. This does not happen with IE11 or Pale Moon 26.4.1 (which is set up as much like KM as possible). Error Console shows a multitude of JS and CSS warnings in Con

Um. This is awkward. KM is the only browser that meets my (admittedly peculiar) security requirements, and it is a pleasure to use. FF itself is a walking disaster zone, Pale Moon is marginally better than Chrome, and IE is, well, IE. No news on Dorian's status?

http://www.networkworld.com/article/3202319/internet/its-time-to-upgrade-to-tls-13-already-says-cdn-engineer.html Currently, KM76 config only goes to security.tls.version.max;3 which is TLS 1.2 is the minimum required / maximum supported encryption protocol. according to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Security.tls.version.%2A It seems Cloudflare has already deployed TLS1.3 to its customers

Quotefoliator ... but the basic components of IE are still available to other programs. It is possible to remove IE completely, as was done (sort of) in Europe, but too much enthusiasm makes sure that "useful" things like the Quick-Launch on the Taskbar also disappear. In fact, W98 becomes only W95 with some extras. The integration was very complete. W98++ was designed to be a &q

QuoteMikk I think Internet Explorer was originally also derived from Netscape - correct? No. It was a rework of Spyglass Mosaic. Having said that, in a highly competitive arena the Browser War between Netscape and Microsoft ensured that whatever appeared in one would very soon be seen in the other. Due to Netscape's efforts, M$ was playing catch-up until 1997 when (at last) M$ actually

Quotechinarobin browser.display.use_system_colors;true ====================== donot work in all 76versions, do you have any idea to fix that? Just check browser.display.use_document_colors If that's true, then system colours should not work. Dunno the origins of these settings, but it looks like typical Mozilla FF  The MozillaZine entries (http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:co

G'day paulderdash - You may want to consider that what Adguard is doing is actually a MITM attack, and as such is introducing a security hole in your system. Avast--and almost all security software--is also doing it now. The Adguard Certificate will actually replace whatever Site Certificate is supposed to be presented to your browser. Read Security Week for more detail. FWIW, I and

It's better to contact the web operators and tell them of the problem. I've noticed that much of the time they have simply forgotten to renew :O and most of those are happy I've reminded them. If you're continuing to add exceptions, it would be wise to avoid wifi connections. CAT 5/6 connections are very difficult to break into, but anything over WLAN or wifi is at risk.

KM 76RC(1) here, the link works quite well. You may want to play with UA strings, although for this I'm using what I consider to be very generic KM: "Mozilla Gecko rv:38.0 K-Meleon 76.0 20160503", but it's not what Dorian shipped Some videos are geo-locked, and it's needful to enable Flash (!!!!!) for all of them, but the ones that do play are very good. QuoteVoltaire ... it would also be nice (when downloading several files) to not have several separate "windows" (that have to be closed) but rather a list of all in one single window (as Maxthon does). Every K-Meleon I've ever had has a download screenlet: Note the checkbox at bottom left. This can also be set in F2 Preferences: I can't make any suggestions as

Quotesiria That's almost certainly an internal engine feature, that means should work the same in FF and KM (in theory). Just different settings. To some extent. Some apps don't have auto-scroll, NotePad is, erm, "noteable" for not having it and nor does Ted Notepad. But also Lotus software generally. Autoscroll is built in to the OS, and programs need to enable it. To

Quotesiria Uh, you kidding??? :O KM shall be unusable out-of-box on tons of important sites, with the purpose to educate the site authors, but in reality the only victims are us users??? Sorry, no way. The userbase of KM would instantly drop to near zero! QuoteJamesD I have started getting messages that I cannot use some sites in HTTPS mode because the security is not good enough. What is the highest level KM can handle? Are there any options a user can do to increase the security? I have tried in 75.1, 76RC and 76RC2. I don't think this user agent related. One site mentioned TLS, but I don't remember the specific message. Hi

We note that Edge, like all IE editions, is a browser designed to: Never. Break. Webpages. While annnoying, I cannot count this a fault in KM. The sad part is that te

Quoterodocop Again Mega.nz got incompatible with Gecko 31 (KM75). Hi rodocop - the only problem I found with https://mega.nz is the antique and broken SSL they use. The other site, https://eu.static.mega.co.nz/, uses TLS, probably because it's based in Europe where people generally seem to be a bit smarter And it also seems to be problem-free. I've set all my browsers except Ope

No, probably not Gecko. I've just opened snag.gy, done what it said and saw the success. Having said that, it was quick and dirty as I did not open an account, so I was not logged in & etc. But it did work, see sig for sordid details. I only have pop-ups and Flash blocked, and my default UA string is <Mozilla Gecko rv:38.0 K-Meleon 76.0 20160503>. EDIT: update global UA

QuoteYogi Re-route in your HOSTS file to 0.0.0.0. The connection should be dropped instantly in this case. Actually Win8.1, and possibly Win10 also, need to have 0.0.0.0 in hosts because Microsoft altered their "TCP loopback interface" in Win8.1 :O (source: There's no place like 127.0.0.0) Quotefoliator ... Quotefoliator ... which probably means that my hosts file is being ignored by that browser. Ummm, no. Hosts is supplied and used by the OS. Browsers send a request for a file, the OS looks at the hosts file and if there is an entry the appropriate action is taken. This is either a re-route to local-host (127...) or to a specialised IP different from the usual, possibly to direct the browser t

At line 257, we have a <noscript>, which is exactly like the one found in the <head> of OspreyPacks here. This <noscript> is invoking an image from Facebook, and I reckon this is causing the crash. Possibly you can test this by disabling images in your Privacy menu, just hit F9 to toggle it. I've run DuoLingo through the W3C Unicorn, there are 333 CSS errors in 3 C
