Thanks for the additional information. I have KM 75.1 fixed or clean but not KM 76 Pro. Both versions seem to have lots of profiles, xml and i10n.js scattered around. Still searching around in KM 76 Pro for 'something' ... the lists are still hanging around. Will continue after a rest ... was getting too frustrated. It's a learning experience however ... just have to look th

Yes, I will just leave the setup alone. I only use two search engines and didn't need all those others. I think they are finally gone and they come right back. I just don't want to see them and that seems to work, hiding them ... I only see DuckDuckGo and Google. It was just a question looking for an easy fix or solution. ...

siria ... thanks for the reply and information. I have some things to work with or try. "Looks like you have the searchplus extension installed, which offers more options, for example showing different icons on the search button, depending on the currently active search engine:" I'm not sure what that is ... I didn't install it so it must have already been there. I will

In 'about:config' ... there are all these search plugins that I really don't need. Is there a quick way to fix all these plugins, so they don't show? ... like guenter just posted dealing with 'user agents'? "Yes You can do it that way. But You can do it by the old macro and prevent the writing at the first place, Then You do not have to edit. And i

Thanks guenter and JohnHell for more details ... guenter, I used your example and finally figured everything out. At this time, I only want four user agents but couldn't get rid of the 5 thru 8 blanks. After I edited everything to my liking ... the blank numbers 5-8 were still showing in 'about:config' ... until I finally figured out that I had to reset everything from 'use

Have no more information but something is going on over at MSFN ... it has gone offline at least twice over the last 3 to 4 hours for updates. They may have been scheduled but updates seem a bit strange with only 2 days left. Xper has posted 21 minutes ago: And please disable ad blockers on msfn. Thanks. Just posted 14 minutes ago. We did forum upgrade to version 4.2. Please post bugs

Well, there is shock over at MSFN as the news has become known. One of the supervisors ... Tripredacus has posted some further information. 2 hours ago: It is a longstanding issue and Xper has said it is not only the financial burden but also there is no time he has to put into the forum. You can see from this post how long it has been known publicly about this: http://www.msfn.org/board/t

This has nothing to do with K-Meleon I guess but just a heads up that this past update Tuesday there were several XP security updates released for the non POS XP setup. MS decided to help out non POS XP users ... very interesting. A member at the MSFN forum has provided links to all the updates released. There are 9 updates ... 10 counting the one relased in May 2017. Check carefully at eac

Thanks for providing the 'direct link' to the new thread at MSFN. I sort of did that on purpose, I thought people wouldn't have any problems finding the new topic but they might also see another thread that might be of interest to them. I know there are several people (perhaps many) over at the MSFN that use the K-Meleon browser. I pick that up when reading different posts and t

There seems to be a completely new thread started by Dibya about three hours ago over at the MFSN WinXP thread. It's simply called: Extended Kernel for XP (ExtendedXP) http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/34-windows-xp/ Only a few posts for now ... the one project involved really has my interest, if I understand it correctly and that is having USB 3.0 work with WinXP. Just a 'he

If any of you are following the Dibya project over at MSFN. There are some 'fireworks' going on over there. The project is new and may never really work out but it certainly may be a game changer. Dibya has ruffled 'some feathers' at times since he joined MSFN. The moderators tend to keep things in control but the dust hasn't settled yet on this new project. Brows

guenter, I have not kept up with the POS updates for WinXP. There is a thread there for that ... currently at 95 pages: POSReady 2009 updates ported to Windows XP SP3 ENU http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/34-windows-xp/ I read the posts, I think there may be work on a 'update rollup' package by heinoganda. I have seen it mentioned but not much else at this time. I did

Just a heads up over at the MSFN Win XP forum. Today one of the supervisors, dencorso started a new separate thread for Dibya's ExtendedXP program. He moved the other posts from the last week into this new thread. This project may pan out or not. Yes, I was going to mention that tool to update certificates. I use it and it's very good. I will go into some detail here about it. It was developed by heinoganda, who is a sharp, knowledgeable contributor there for WinXP. He's got many things going on with WinXP as well as Dibya and others. Anyone interested in WinXP for the future should stay in touch with that forum ... for XP, W

Just posted over the last day at the MSFN forum dealing with K-MELEON 76 PRO RC. Some have it working with Win2000. I don't know if this real news or not since I don't use Win2000. There is a member there named Dibya who has a project in progress called 'ExtendedXP' or another member called it 'Dibya's ExtendedXP'. I am not familiar with the project and it s

Rodocop ... thanks for this newer K-Meleon 76 Pro version. I just downloaded an earlier version and it was running very good. Found out about this version a few hours ago. My Profile folder seems to have carried over from the other version with no problems. I don't notice any difference but if you say it's better than the other version, then that's good enough for me. JamesD, No I did not use any profile from the KM 75 setup. I started from scratch with KM 76 and just this morning I deleted the whole KM 75 backup folder that I had stored on a flash drive. K-Meleon 76 seems to be working OK except for that Cookie Culler program. I can just go into Tools/Privacy/Clear Data ... so I won't need the Cookie program and I also have everything set to cl

Hello ... I just finished setting up K-Meleon 76 ... works very well. I just noticed that Cookie Culler Plus is listed as working with version 76 or 7x. I use Cookie Culler Plus on my other KM versions ... really like the program. However, I installed it into the KM folder and it doesn't seem to work ... the little square page that opens is a total blank. The description for KM Version

JohnHell, Downloaded K-Meleon 76 Pro earlier today and just finished the settings. It does seem to get better results at that SSL/TLS test page. I have been using KM v1.8.24 and KM 75 Pro. I didn't realize KM 76 Pro was useable so I never tried it till today. It seems to work just fine so far ... still have a few settings to work with. Probably later in the week. callahan

Just to mention a few things about WinXP and K-Meleon. I was late to the party when I decided to move from Win98SE to WinXP ... that was around April 2012. It took about a year to get all my settings and software exactly as I wanted for WinXP. There were a few changes through the years but not many ... mostly just software updates and regular maintenance updates. I run no virus protection ...
