Quotecallahan Thanks JamesD ... I had another question, I don't know anything about the term "global flash" ... do these newer versions of K-Meleon already have flash or this "global flash", so I don't need to add the flash dll that JohnHell provides when there is a "Final Flash" version every so often. I guess I am not clear on the term "global fla

Definitely I'm not having that issue, nor virtual or physical XP. Yours is as if the icon were a bad optimized 256 colors icon or less, or a bad gif :-S You were in 7 right?

Quotesiria there should be a hint about min. system requirements. It's now starting with XP-SP3 if I read the forum right? I run it in XP with SP2. SP3 is not mandatory, or I didn't have the need of SP3... at least in my machines, physical and virtual.

QuoteDorian Works fine for me. Oh, ok, with 32 bit depth in XP the background is transparent On 2000 no. Who cares xD And I guess the True Color works too at 32 bit depth.

QuoteZero3K Try viewing http://www.neogaf.com in IE and in K-Meleon 74 RC to see what I mean. I can't Windows 2000 --> IE 6 (quite buggy favicon support) But what I could see, is the same, except background. Any other one to test it? Any screenshot? Sorry Zero3k

I'm curious, what do you mean by True Color icon? I mean, from my point of view, you could be mixing the idea of True Color icon with True Color+Alpha (alpha as the transparent background). K-meleon already display icons in True Color, but not True Color+Alpha (black background instead transparent background). For example, from the red lines to the left, the original icon of this si

QuoteJamesD QuoteJohnHell One thing I found to warn for those using custom skins (as skin.js isn't read now) is that the toolbars get reset in their positioning. Probably because of the fixed issue with skin.js. I don't know. Can you explain this in more detail? Am I wrong to assume this is back to the way it used to be? Could be. The thing is that K-meleon 74 now doesn't

Dorian, thanks for including the history changes, but you left as a comment the following code in history.xul and the background window menu entry wasn't available <!-- <menuitem id="historyContext_opennewbackwindow" command="historyCmd_openbackwindow" label="&cmd.opennewbackwindow.label;" access

QuoteZero3K I have been noticing a bug that's been occurring for a while which I have forgot to mention earlier. Its that every so often, the text in the Search Bar (which is a K-Meleon plugin) and the URL drop down box gets enlarged/bolded. Here's a link to a screenshot that shows the issue: http://snag.gy/qrvgF.jpg That's not a problem of K-meleon 74, but K-meleon itself sin

Because, as I said in the past, in other thread, in other subforums, this hosting (kmeleon.sf.net, not the whole sf.net) has problems with binaries. It's not a K-meleon bug, it's a server misconfiguration. As I said, the server sends the files as plain/text. For example, if you go here, you don't have that problem: http://sourceforge.net/projects/kmeleon/files/k-meleon/1.

Isn't the version hardcoded in K-meleon.exe? We could add a custom user agent, anyway, of course. But, by default, it isn't sent the actual GRE version. Thanks for the hint to platform.ini. I upload the modified history to allow window open in front and background. The modification from JamesD and mine following his path. history_74_windows_menus.zip I have to say that t

Right now, the only "annoyance" I've found, and as I'm the only one here who uses windows, is to still edit history xul and/or controller.js to change or add the menu entries for window usage. Thank you so much, Dorian, to include the certificate error page correction too Copy image content, working too. Thank you. A but... I'm with JamesD that the GRE version i

QuoteDorian QuoteJohnHell I remembered today again a reported issue. The ID_COPY_IMAGE_CONTENT doesn't work. I can fix it, but I can't fix background image. They didn't bother to make a c++ api. Did you mean CSS background images? For that, I don't care, in fact, time ago, I made a change to the view page images macro (the old one (it's a little of pain with a spr

I know it sounded weird, but it's what I meant If the behavior described was happening, make sure javascript is disabled. I was telling to check that javascript was disabled. And then I explained that if it was disabled almost any flash site won't work. I know, I know, absolutely scrambled. But any reader should understand

I remembered today again a reported issue. The ID_COPY_IMAGE_CONTENT doesn't work. I stopped trying to use it because I knew it was broken. I just tried today and still was broken. I don't remember if you said it couldn't be fixed. Without any hurry, maybe for the RC

I'm not having such issue with beta 4 update 4. The skin.js file, if Dorian doesn't correct me, is to be placed in "K-meleon\browser\defaults\preferences", but it is only the default layout of the skin. Once you place the toolbars anywhere else, the settings are overriden. Also, I'm using a custom skin since the days of 0.x or 1.1.x version so it is not a thing of s

QuoteRain However the updates did spawn a minor "inconvenience" This is how i've configured my Top toolbar to look like: But at every exit, the toolbar position reverts itself to default. It's not a big deal, it's just that over the years i've gotten used to having my webpage navigation buttons in the the top left and the address bar in the middle.

QuoteGeorge Hall QuoteZero3K Another bug I just noticed with the latest update is that I can no longer close the find bar by clicking the X. The only way to close it is to click its text box and press (unless the box already has focus). If you press the ESC key, The Find Bar will close. which should be useful until the bug with X on the Find Bar is fixed, It doesn't ever work. The focus

QuoteJamesD QuoteJohnHell Also I want to request to add the JamesD entry for open in new window (that didn't work this time when I edited history.xul, controller.js and history.dtd, I'll have to do again (I forgot to remove startupCache mad smiley)), so we don't have to edit each new update. And maybe a new entry for the background window to avoid changing BACKGROUNDTAB to BACKGROU

QuoteDorian @JohnHell I tried printing with js and it used the same prefs. Updated history focus Looks that the print worked here too now :-? didn't take the printer settings but the set settings :-? About the histoy focus, does the same of my try, you have to move the mouse but... what I didn't notice is that even the cursor is not blinking, the search box is actually focused s

It's not a big deal to press tab key to jump to the search box in history, but I tried to implement by window.document.getElementById('search-box').focus();" function in the onload section of history.xul to be focused and start searching after the history has been opened but it fails because, unless you move the mouse, the history isn't fully loaded and the search box doe

@George, I updated late to update 1 (this last week) as I hadn't problems with beta 4 alone. When I updated to update 1 I had problems described in the last 2 pages of this thread. They were fixed in update 2. Today I was reporting bugs for update 3, that I found actually come from update 2 (except the bookmark one that is in the bookmark plugin). Is it clear now ? Here you can find, f

What are you answering to me, George? :-? O_o I mentioned that bug in the past, weeks ago and it was confirmed... what are you telling? :-? I confirm that the type ahead and back was broken from update 1 to update 2. Can anyone confirm it? Note: it is broken with find as you type. If you call the search function through edit>search in page (or the command to find in page ID_EDIT_F

Should we care about the new information rows about addons.xpi with beta 4 update 3? Or is something missing? I already deleted startupCache. An error, not of this update 3, because I noticed yesterday with update 2: When you search in bookmarks, in the title bar are shown UTF-8 characters instead the typed text. EDIT: IMPORTANT I missed F7 and F8 functionality. I used them fro

Go here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If you see an small box telling the "Version information" flash is working. If so, make sure you have javascript disabled because if it is disabled is the reason that dailymotion or youtube show only a black box.

QuoteZero3K Speaking of the history window, I have a bug to report regarding it. The bug is that no favicons are showing up next to the entries in it. From the beginning of KM 74 they weren't. Indeed, in 1.6 and previous, with its own history, they weren't either. George Hall, please, open a new thread, you are not talking about K-meleon 74 beta 4 but your own custom version.
