guess i overreacted a bit. xthost.info site is now clean unlike yesterday. you can now repost any downloads you have on that site and they should now work as expected. UPDATE: "one.xthost.info" site redirects to xthost.info main site again (DOH!) try posting the K-Meleon18124forCD-kiosk download at "two.xthost.info" site. but at least the rapidshare site worked.

QuoteFred Download here : http://one.xthost.info/eichhein/KM18124forCD-Kiosk.zip link no longer working. choose another download site to upload the zip file. link keeps on redirecting from "one.xthost.info" to "xthost.info" lately AND opening that "one.xthost.info" url in Opera 10 web browser displays this warning: Quote Fraud Warning The page

Quote4td8s KM 1.6 alpha 4 and KM 1.7 alpha are now available. too bad the "user agent" strings for KM 1.6a4 and 1.7a are old and outdated. boy I have to edit them bigtime to match the newer Firefox 3.5/3.6 and Seamonkey 2.0 versions.

Quotechinarobin yes, i did as you said, and it works. but the display of the user agent menu does not change. any way, it's working I found the problem. Edit the menus.cfg file from the km\pref\ folder (NOT km\defaults\pref\ folder, where "km" is the KM CCF ME folder) and go to the "User Agent{" section. make the changes there and reload KM CCF ME. I though I had already mentioned how to do this in the KM 1.6 alpha thread: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,103184,page=4 Quoteeh, I've figured out how to do this myself. Edited "I10n.js" file from K-meleon1.6's \defaults\pref\ folder and changed the following lines: /********************************************************************************/ // Priva

though the latest version of camino browser requires Mac OS X v10.4 or better to use. older versions of Camino found here can be used for older Mac OSes.

drat. I'm with desga2 as the "bookmarks" feature of KM 1.6.0a4 DOES show up and work as expected on my relative's Win2000 SP4 computer (w/ KB89861 UR1). missing or corrupted msvcp80.dll & msvcr80.dll files perhaps, gman2083?

Quotegman2083 Does anyone know why the "bookmarks" does not show in the top menu in Windows 2000? I see "File, Edit, View, Tools, Help" but no Bookmarks. are you using win2000 with sp4 + kb891861 ur1 (update rollup 1) installed?

Quotendebord Charlie, Gecko Engine evolution has continued. KM 1.6 early alpha uses Gecko 1.9.1 (I think?). KM 1.7 uses Gecko 1.9.2. I believe FireFox 3.6.3 uses Gecko 1.9.3, but am not sure. no offense, ndebord, but Firefox 3.6.3 uses Gecko 1.9.2.3. if you had downloaded a copy of FF 3.6.3 and ran it on your computer, you should have known better. I have FF 3.6.3 installed on my Vista c

QuoteLoch Hello, I'm looking for advice from those who've been around. I'm planning to use an isolated instance of the browser as a static window for offline rendering of some basic html with javascript and images. The window will see heavy usage for years on end and could be open for hours at a time so memory stability will be important. I was wondering which version of K-Meleon m

in other words, patience chrismt. I don't mind waiting for either another alpha or even the first beta release of KM 1.6.0. it'll come whenever the KM creators are ready to release it. when exactly, nobody knows for sure.

Quotedabiank NoScript doesn't work with K-Meleon 1.5.4: after opening options, "OK" button doesn't work. definitely a bug with the NoScript extension for KM. the "Reset" and "Cancel" buttons do work, on the other hand. so most but not all features of NoScript can work with KM 1.5.4 and 1.6.0a3.

other sites to get ABP for K-meleon: http://extensions.geckozone.org/KMES-AdblockPlusEn (v0.7.5.4 though; download links there dont seem to work at all - outdated links?) http://kmext.sourceforge.net/ext1.htm (there's an adblockplus.7z package you can use to install ABP; v1.0.1 though but very stable)

Better yet, K-meleon users should go here instead: http://extensions.geckozone.org/KMES-NoScriptEn that NoScript 1.7.8 EXE installer for KM 1.1x/1.5x/1.6x works best in installing NoScript in K-meleon. should have known better to go to that site.

Quotendebord Alain, It looks like you have change your website URL info: I have: http://pagesperso-orange.fr/jujuland46/JujuLand/KMES/KMES-Generalities.html that pagesperso-orange.fr page no longer exists. dead link. seems like the newest versions of Noscript aren't compatible anymore with KM 1.1x and 1.5x. best to stick with the old versions of Noscript like 1.8x and earlie

GOOD! so let's NOT bring up that kind of subject ever again, guenter? can we at least agree on that? Quoteguenter IMHO Win9x was consumer branch. Win2000 was pro branch. eh, enough of the debate about the "stats" of w9x users in today's world. @guenter: last time I used a 9x OS was back in mid-2007. had to upgrade my old HP pavilion computer from WinME to WinXP at that time cuz most of the apps I use are barely XP-only programs. Quote9x has significantly outsold Win2000 since when? that can be debatable on a separate topic, but not here.

Quotejsnj I agree though that you shouldn't be using vista or 7 on 256MB RAM. Played w/7 on a laptop recently. I found no real world advantages over XP other than some eye candy. heck, NOBODY should be using Win7 on any machine with 512Mb RAM or less; maybe with 768Mb of RAM or higher, Win7 could be used. doesn't Win7's minimum system requirements say that 1Gb of RAM should be u

Quotecaktus I am using dialup with a 56k modem. no wonder, caktus. you need to upgrade to faster broadband connection soon. dialup connections may be insufficient for the site to work properly in KM. you may want to set the following: network.http.max-connections to either "24" or "32" network.http.max-connections-per-server > "8" network.http.max-persi
