In you opinion what would be an ideal KM configuration for a novice ?
This is for someone that has never used a browser or the net before (yes, that exists !) and I'm looking for a configuration with the best security setup for KM that wouldn't mean that she (yes !) would have to ask for my help ... or have to make decisions and choices ... all the time.
It goes without saying tha

Just found a small bug - open a session with say 5 or 6 tabs then add a few more tabs that you open through bookmarks or directly through the URL bar THEN right-click on the Reload button and choose Reload all tabs : only the tabs that were opened through the session will be reloaded.
No big deal but still...

OK, thanks disrupted for the explanation.
Another question about privacy mode while we're on it : here when I go into PM it opens in a new window - is that normal behaviour ? Why can't it open in a new tab ? Or is it because PM needs a new instance ?
And why was the dog astounded ?

Hi disrupted - that works, I tried the version in your post with the usual link not the alternative one - it works with or without Auto Backup enabled.

disrupted - works fine except that I get an error message when KM restarts saying that KM wasn't closed correctly and do I want to open the previous session (that is with Auto Backup enabled) - nothing serious...

Yes that was it - I unchecked the macro in Preferences and the lines disappeared - thanks.
However I had uninstalled via KM extensions manager !!!
PS sorry about the wrong board - please move ...

I couldn't decide where to post this so I chose this board !
I recently uninstalled some extensions (don't ask me which...) and there are some annoying extra dividing lines left behind in the page context menu - I looked through the cfg file but couldn't find - or understand - where these are coded.
So how can I remove them ?

yes, and to add to what HTH and others said : when disaster strikes the first thing to do is STOP whatever you're doing and think.
For me the very best solution is to go back to a restore point - this has saved me so many times. I won't go into the discussion about which of images or restore points are better - it seems that that's a matter of taste.
I use FarStone DriveClone

thanks again panzer - I'm not bothered by anything - apart from stupidity, ignorance and excessive egoism, so I can surely read those books you recommended !
The Third Policeman and Swim Two Birds by Flann O'Brien
... can't describe them !!!

Thanks panzer. I've read most books by Arthur C. Clarke, Frank Herbert and Clifford Simak.
There's also the Space Trilogy by C. S. Lewis that you probably know but also Till We Have Faces by him - very special.
Here are some NON-SF but which I really appreciate :
all books by William Golding but especially Free Fall - this one can be a shock for some people : so close to home.

Here's one to be going on with, it's a classic so probably known to your friends on the SF forum, but whatever ... it may be new to someone here.
A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller

Some consider this to be science-fiction, it was written in that style but it's a whole lot more than that, way, way beyond.
It's an unforgettable experience.
