User Agents: While you're at it, let me throw in a mobile browser too, whichever. Have added e.g. a fake OperaMini UA since 1-2 years and am quite happy with it, although using it only very rarely. But then it's the quickest way to get a simplified mobile version of some overloaded website. Too bad I can't yet run the new versions myself, often wonder now if old macros would sti

Yeah it's easy enough, if there's a javascript command loaded on an image that shall not execute, just use the plain old JS toggle in the privacy toolbar first or the shortcut F7. I still don't understand what should be so horrible about it *shrugh* The OnLoad method has the other prob, that JS is always off, even blocking other actions that may be desired.

I understand of course that the stop button stops loading stuff But sometimes there are scripts that start running after they are loaded, and keep on running, don't stop by themselves. That's when a stop command helps. Although for lack of a current test page I'm not sure enough to put my hand into fire for it ;-) But forgot something, my stop button is not the normal one. Long

Uah what a horrible page, and in KM1.6 I don't even manage to get the picture shown at all. Or perhaps it's one of my adblock settings or whatever, never mind. Anyway, JS in general, sometimes it seems to behave like flash: once an object is already loaded and active, it can only be "killed". Flash has an extra button for killing. But with JS, what if you click the stop but

Sorry but I'm really confused too. In the first line why anything happens when you do that, because nothing happens for me when I click for example on those images here, except that they are highlighted. But both our profiles are customized, and I didn't really investigate deeply ;-) Next confusing, one time you say you want nothing to happen, and then you say, you want the image-save-

Am confused now (again). Seems to happen on deviantart only when scrolling with the mouse wheel, but not when using the scrollbar?! And a workaround-macro isn't quite as trivial as first thought, KM does funny things, goes on endless reloading frenzy ;-)

So do I Just be aware that you need writing authority to that folder. Again, have no clue about KM74, but the traditional way was to create an empty file named "profile.ini" in the KM root folder, just as an indicator whether profiles shall be placed inside (portable) or outside (in user account). The content of the old profile folder must be copied over manually, there is no automa

Quotemartin9I was looking for the profile folder. Where is that folder? In older KM-versions that folder would pop open when clicking Edit > Configuration > Profile Directory Perhaps still there in new versions, cannot check it myself.

Ah, good tip! I was vaguely suspecting perhaps some "javascript:" code were invisibly added at the beginning, but now that you mention it, finally researched a bit more (in my current main version KM16b2.5). When right-clicking on the "Go" button, discovered there a menu entry for "Reset URL bar". And that actually reveals it! When scrolling further down, a random t

Which version do you use? I tested with 1.6 and 1.5.4 and as long as javascript is blocked that blank-bug doesn't happen. Only with JS on. Please try again and make sure in the privacy menu or by toolbar button that JS is blocked. And you could try with the brandnew KM74beta, if your machine isn't stone age like mine ;-)

No prob (if you know how). It's even a native command. Which shortcut do you want for it exactly? howto: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/FAQ#accels (okay, this part could use a little wiki update, as most parts ;-)) How to figure out the command for "continuous reload": Edit > Configuration > Commands List, search page for e.g. continuous

QuoteDorian Kmeleon 74 Beta Locale file It's a full build and I'm trying different things, a compact theme and an about:home page. I'll make an announcement. THANK YOU!! Am kinda excited, after all those years finally a new official version, and this time even with a modern engine inside! That is such a huge step forward for K-Meleon, which we all had believed dead alre

He did it!!!!! YEAH.... I mean to say, fantastic news: Dorian just posted the *official* new KM dev version, KM74, and called it not even "alpha", but this time starts out right away with "beta"!! Great! Not sure if you're aware, but he's also K-Meleons main developer since many years, and therefore it's him who will update the official download page, probab

Nope, tried it, no blank page here. Clicking on the exe link opens the download dialogue, nothing else. Could it possibly be some setting? Perhaps in the pref part for "file handling"? When a "download completes" I've both checkmarked, but guess that's only for that litte popup message. That said, a blank page after downloads does happen to me on *IE* on the job c

Hi, glad it works now Quotedokie80I disabled macro extention before, should've put more info on description, coz it only says "provide macro language support". I enable it and set "firefox" for mouse accels. Absolutely, the descriptions are sometimes too short and therefore misleading! Macros in KM are not just for custom extensions, as one would assume from other

Hm, never noticed. For downloading am used to Link-Save-As. Or if left-clicking on a file link? No, just tested again, no blank page. When does it happen? And slightly belated, but can't resist: QuoteLarkspurI was painstakingly going through the Preferences list to make sure both versions (1.6.0 Beta 2 and 1.6.0 Beta 2.6) were configured the same. The pref list is in the profile folder

A search for "scrollbar" gives good hits ;-) No clue about evernote, don't know it sorry. To see if it's rather the site or the browser you could perhaps compare if it works in other browsers or in other KM versions. You're right that for volatile test versions in the middle of development they do not always have the internal info updated, as long as a version is no

Funny thing! And once it's white, I can't even seem to reload the page, it only does when opening it in a new tab again? Or is it only me? (am using 1.6beta2.5) Actually I wouldn't have noticed, since by default I keep javascript blocked, and then the page seems to work fine, no probs  Do you have the privacy toolbar switched on? There's a very handy quick switch bu

Uhm, you're citing this thread as "source" in wikipedia for that Mozilla embedding thing?? But this is just feeble heresay, by far not solid enough to post it like a fact there. So that part should really be removed as long as the real source isn't linked! Of course I tried now to remember where I had read that and googled around a bit, but no luck so far. From my memory a

Thank you James Just IMO that sentence with "is on indefinite hold" is just not true anymore and could simply be deleted. Have also read somewhere (cited here in the forum?) that this thing about withdrawn support for embedding was only a misunderstanding. One of the mozilla developers said that and explained that the process was just somehow more work now, more complicated, but anyway

Don't know, but as a non-developer the KM74 threads sure sound to me like they are progressing in lightning speed at the moment. After all, when was the last time that not just 1, but 3 or more programmers were working on KM at the same time, and all intensely?! Things look extremely positive, like an official dev version (alpha? beta?) being just around the corner every moment now Stepping

QuoteMikkC:\...\KM\K-Meleon_1.6.0Betat2.6JamesD+...\defaults\ profile That's not your current profile. It's the template folder for new profiles. You can create and use multiple profiles if you like, and choose at browser start which one to use. Forgot about the black-text-on-black-background prob with default aura-alpha skin in win98, sorry. Am using my own extended skin and am long-since used to switch to either that one or Klassic when trying out a new profile, as soon as needing the privbar. The prob is not that black is defined as transparent (that would work fine), but as partly-transparent (even if 100%), and semi-transparency jus

Thanks guenter and naruman! Now I'm starting to think it possible that one day KM74 may actually run on win98 too - too cool! Yesterday I did a bit research on the web about a function or two that dependency walker claimed missing, and learned that there are actually people trying to extend kernelex (just like KM-users improved 1.6+1.7 dev versions over the last years). And found an interes

QuoteMikkAnother range of my noobness: What is the meaning of Javascript? I know only it's a script language and people say it should be for better security deactivated. But it must have any purpose why it is contained in the browsers. I read somhere Mozilla wants even to eliminate the possibility to deactivate it in the next FF version Whow... you kidding?? Well there are people who wan

One line causing so much trouble - incredible. Very glad it's fixed now, and still can't quite believe that there soon will be a fully working modern K-Meleon again, what no one had believed possible anymore Now am just wondering if there might be slight chance that some day someone may apply those same fixes also to 1.7, since the bugs seem so similar, so perhaps quick and easy. 1.

Hi Mikk, do you have MFC80U.dll in your system folder?? I did think there was something with that file, but thought its name had been mfc80, forgot the "u". But now digging again through old notes that name keeps popping up... Perhaps you have it already somewhere in the programs folder, as I did? Although, your KM doesn't say it were missing it, hm. Another old note, was
