Great James Noticed a little tiny bug in the commands.html (a gem that I need kinda often ). Not sure if it's known already but anyway: The index links in the beginning are all hard-coded to link to xthost. Must have to do with that "base" thing in the code, guess simply deleting that line would fix them all. Didn't notice it for so long since I'm so used to FindAsYo

Have a dim memory... Yep, that moving thing was definitely intentional: http://kmeleon.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/kmeleon/k-meleon/TabReBar.h?sortby=date&view=log Personally I find it quite cool too, considering the growing number of people who want to save the space of the titlebar, and hide it somehow, as already mentioned in the old forum links above. Don't see any harm in it,

Very interesting post! Want it to be found easily, and just noticed the name has that X-typo again, but on the other hand, about 40% of google hits are for that spelling too! Guess I'll use both variants in my posts in the future ;-) PS: Just noticed Xeno has released a new version (451), already a month ago: http://kernelex.sourceforge.net/ http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/130936-ker

QuotedeadlockCan you please give me a sample, as small as possible, that does require KPlugin: JSBridge.dll? Only know that I had wondered for months why the "Exceptions" button had vanished from F2>Privacy / Cookie stuff, and some day it suddenly reappeared when activating that ominous JSBridge!

Or perhaps before you mess it with an ancient version, click Help > FAQ and read about Sun's "new generation" crap and how to fix it by renaming a folder or file, or whatever the trick was  By the way I doubt that "most" of todays web would need Java, since I never had it installed, yet 98% of pages work fine ;-) You don't happen to mean JavaSCRIPT?? Hmmm... if you have tabs enabled in general, then I think it should be this option: F2 > Window Diversion Chose "open in new tab", then click on "Links meant to open a new window", switch to "passed from external applications", and check again "new tab"... It has nothing to do with command line options, that's just the normal user preferences (

Uhm, especially for the personal Profile folder ;-) click Edit > Configuration > Profile Directory, that will open it in the file explorer. Go two levels higher then right-click on the folder "Profiles", look in the menu for some entry named "Security" to grant yourself writing permissions to that folder. Hmm, not quite sure if that's the same names for win7...?

Very interesting, thanks James! Ah yeah, policy manager again, sigh. That's the problem with it, that lots of simple KM macro commands don't work, incl. even native ones like zoom options. Really a pity. That's why I prefer the "normal" javascript block from the privacy options, although that one again, it doesn't allow a whitelist for JS sites, sigh again! Not eas

The alternative files that I want to keep a while (old versions, or original versions, macro experiments etc.) I just copy and rename, so that the ending is disabled. E.g. "toolbars.cfg" renamed to "toolbars_cfg_110525" or such. This way KM doesn't read them at startup and they can stay inside the same folder, side by side with the "active" files Uhm, space

Man!! Can't believe how easy that is, after struggling for such a long time and searching around and messing macros and workarounds without success. And now it turns out there's just 1 simple line needed! *dropdead* Continued from here http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,104538,page=2 ___________________________________________ K-Meleon has a default setting for animated gif

Nice, thanx Mtestlab Oh yes, lots of people just take a short look at KM and then claim that this and that function wouldn't work or not exist, while in reality they just overlooked it, being used to the special ways of their own browser! And they keep wanting to use Firefox addons, while never realizing in their 5 min test that KM has its own macros and extensions, so they say there weren

Oops... And sorry! Had a little typo in the new version yesterday, which made that the "Help + Configuration" didn't open the macro file, argh *blush* There was 1 download yesterday, if you read this, please download again from the new link in the first post.

If the minimum is FF3.5, then you probably need to use KM 1.6 beta on that site. Personally I've started thinking that this growing number of "old version bugs" is getting more annoying than the rather harmless 1.6beta bugs.

Update to version v2 Nothing major, just menu lines added to the context menus of images and links. And added examples for setting keyboard shortcuts in the macro.

Speaking of windows folder options, there's a popular little freeware tool that helps handling them easier ;-) http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/file_types_manager.html

Grmpf... Have actually overlooked that, oops, but you'right. Thanks for telling! At least the files and images still work fine despite the double ending. Saved photos also keep their recording details (exif) so I see no real problem, the function is okay, just the filenames look a bit stupid. Have really tried hard now to find some fix for it, and played with savetype-prefs etc., but

From a quite interesting user review for K-Meleon, just stumbled about it today: http://www.techsupportalert.com/freeware-forum/internet-web-apps-and-networking/3373-k-meleon-web-browser.html QuoteAnupam in Feb 2010When I had gone through the settings, I had turned off the Macros, as I thought I would not be needing them. When I installed KEM, or K-Meleon Extensions Manager, I was not able

Major update to Version-2, see first post! Greatly recommended to update, if anyone has it installed. With the first version I wasn't very happy yet, but this one is now really nice Thanks morfana!

Okay, I made a macro and as usual, it got a little longer than first expected ;-) It creates additional menu entries to drop a page/image/LinkTarget or frame blindly into the last used folder, without asking which folder each time. Included the shortcut Alt+LeftMouse as suggested, and more shortcuts for the other functions can be easily added. Named that macro "SaveToFolder", the threa

Have no idea, and cannot test much without an own account. Can only tell that the login looks quite normal and fine to me, it does give me instantly a "wrong login data" message if I type in some fantasy addy and password. And that is even with the default user agent and all my usual shields up (javascript blocked, flash/objects/adblock/DomStore/Referer/Animations blocked, no Java etc.)

Tired of confirming the "choose folder" box each and every time when saving a bunch of images, pages or links? This macro extends the menu to offer not only "Save As...", but additionally also "Save (Last Used Dir) (!)" The second entry is new, it blindly drops the stuff into the LAST USED folder without asking anything - but ATTENTION, this also means it doesn

Hab's gerade mal getestet.

Click View > Toolbars > Privacy Bar  That shows a button to switch on/off javascript, and buttons for some other related stuff. If you want more buttons or hide some buttons in that toolbar, use Edit > Configuration > Toolbars Or toggle JS with keyboard: F7 The JS toggle is also in menu Tools > Privacy, that takes 1 click less then via F2 ;-) Can someone please

Also wenn du's wirklich probieren willst, auf eigene Gefahr At own risk  (okay the only danger is to forget that this setting exists and how to reset it, but that happened to myself twice!

Haven't tested yet, but try this (in theory it should work ;-) Edit > Configuration > Accelerators Add this line: ALT LButton = ID_SAVE_LINK_AS Restart browser (and loader if used) This saves it in your current profile folder, file "accel.cfg"
