This is just a suggestion and I do not know enough about programming to know if it is possible or not. Could the spell checker be like Hotlist or IE Favorites? They are shipped with KM but are not enabled by default. As for the dictionaries perhaps there could be some script that would run if spell checker is enabled that would download and install to the correct location. I guess the above

@ Alain I would like to add my support to Guenter's request that a spell checker be a part of KM by default. Do you think it could be included with the next version of 1.5 ?

@ Jarryd Can you let us know what version of KM you are using and what operating system please. It might also help to know how fast your internet connection runs. I just tried a reload of this page and I do not get a white page. To the best of my memory I never have noticed a white page for a reload operation. I am using 1.5a1 on Win XP SP2.

You can rename IE favorites as you add them with this macro. http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KmmFavRenAdd

In EDIT - PREFERENCES - TABBED BROWSING - TAB BAR there is an option to "Indicate page loading in the tab button title". This is in KM version 1.5a1.

I think it would be useful to have a list box type prompt for the macro language. There are times I think where asking the user to choose one item from a list of options would be of help to writers of macros. Each item in the list should be able to span two or more lines. Selection could be by highlighting an item or clicking a button with the number of the corresponding item in a numbered

QuoteprenaudI must be using a different version (1.1.3). I can't find the double-click option. Oh well, that's not a big deal. You are right. KM 1.1.3 does not have tabs. It has layers. They are very different. I assumed that since you said "tabs" that you were using KM 1.5a1.

It is possible to have a search history in K-Meleon. Some things must be set up for this to work. First you must be using the URL bar to enter search items. Type the search item in the URL bar and click on the search button in the button bar. Second you must go to tools - web search - configure and check keyword autosearch. This mean domain autocompletion will be turned off. The choice of a

What version are you using and what OS? I have had no trouble saving web pages for offline viewing with any recent version. The "Save page as" item under the "File" menu offers two methods for saving web pages. They are "HTML only" and "complete". The complete method will create a folder with all the linked items and change the HTML to point to the li

If you create an empty file named "Profile.ini" in KM's folder then when KM is next started it will create a new profile at KM\Profiles\default\<unique name>.slt. You also could have text in the "Profile.ini" file to set the profile location. path=Profiles isrelative=1 This code will place the profile in same place as having no code. The values for path

@Phil I don't know what command you need to run for Addblock Plus but the following will get an item in the tools menu with the label Addblock Plus. I just put font decrease in order to have something to test. !&Tools{ Ad&dblock Plus=ID_FONT_DECREASE }

You can select the search engine in tools - web search - configure when checking keyword autosearch. Does not have to be your default engine but could be if that is your desire. Most of the time I do not need a new favorite in the same session that I create it, so I almost alway see all the favorites in a new browser session. I can accept that in order to have the speed of KM.

Works for me. I opened three additional tabs with a different web site in each. Then I went back to the original tab and double clicked on the one of the three additional tabs and it closed. Focus remained on the original tab. I have double click set to "close the current tab", and when closing a tab set to "Focus the previously selected tab". I know it sounds wrong, but I

@ Paul Some plug-ins are specific for IE or KM. That means you have to get the one is designed to find and work with Gecko engine browsers. I don't remember which ones are like this, but I think there was something in the forum recently about this. Try searching the forum for items like "plug-in" or "flash", etc. You can see what plug-ins that KM sees and uses by

I am using 1.5a1 and if I click on SESSIONS - OPTIONS, there is a check box for "Open the following session at startup". The item, since I have not saved any sessions, is previous session. You have to click on the v in the list box to see that. I have not tried it, but this sounds like what you wish to do.

If I right click on the history button and look at the list of sites I have visited during the session, I can click on a site in the list and return to that site. However the next place I go becomes number zero and everything more recent than the site I clicked on is removed from the list. Is this the expected behavior?

One more piece to the workaround. I thought I could cut and paste the item but that does not work. Found that I had to go to tools - web search - configure and check keyword autosearch. The word "choir" itself will not resolve without adding www before it so "choir is sent to search engine instead. Sorry for the answer coming in pieces but I an just learning how to this. Guess

There may be a workaround for searchs history. If you use the URL bar to enter your search item and under edit preferences history you have typed URL's only then the search item will appear in the URL dropdown.

QuoteclutterlessI imported my IE bookmarks (favorites). You can add a page to the favorites list, but you can't edit the shortcut without opening Windows Explorer. The changes you make do not take effect until you terminate the loader and close K-Meleon. I am confused. Are you using IE Favorites or Bookmarks. They are very different methods of storing favorite site URL's. If y

I found a flash based demo of Speed Dial at http://www.opera.com/support/tutorials/flash/speeddial/ The nearest thing KM has to that is Hotlinks which is found under the tools menu.

The next official version will have true tabs. It is available as alfa code now. You can get to try at this thread http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,75092,page=1 Note: 1.5a1 is so stable that I have made it my default browser. Tabs work great. Sorry, but I don't have any info on making it portable.
