Quotechinarobin QuoteZero3K Quotechinarobin it is only me that have the scroll problem? What scroll problem? scrolling page up and down, sometimes it doesnot work, it is there since km 74 beta1. This is a problem in Firefox 24.x as well. This happens to me a fair bit, but clicking on the page seems so reset the scrolling, and the scrollbar should work once again! Hopefully this is fixed

Sorry about the invisible image! This is why I liked the new attachment abilities of this Phorum. When I joined, I could not attach to messages, but a few months ago I was suddenly allowed to. (I made mention of it when that happened, probably on the K-M Beta 4 thread). Now I can't anymore. I don't know about the technical details of this Web site, but IMHO, all members should have

So, I have finally installed K-M 74 RC Final! The tools seemed like too much trouble to figure out, so I just kept my profile the same. I copied over what I needed such as skins and macros, and this is what it looks like out of the box: I don't understand the point of a file saving your preferences if it is overwritten whenever K-M restarts! I replaced prefs.js with my old version

James and guenter: Thank you for the information and tools! I feel like KMM ResMacro would be best for my purposes. My whole profile is 21.6 MB. I wondered what was taking up so much space, and the largest files are "places.sqlite" at 10 MB, and "webappsstore.sqlite" at 6.65 MB. Are these files needed? There is an awful lot of white space in them! The next biggest is "

QuoteJamesD Quotethomase13 James, I am wondering if you were able to find that tool you mentioned some time ago which saves your K-M preferences and transfers them to the new version of K-Meleon. I use favorites, so the only other things I have to worry about saving are passwords and history. Does this transfer them too, or is your profile untouched by a new installation? I have a method whic

Wow! I have not been around here for some time, but the pace of development here is fantastic! Great work Dorian (and others)! I am left in the dust, still on K-M 74 Beta 4 — I can hardly believe the second RC is already out! James, I am wondering if you were able to find that tool you mentioned some time ago which saves your K-M preferences and transfers them to the new version of K-Mele

Hi, I have been having a problem with the icons for htm and html files lately that aren't attached to FrontPage. This is how they currently show up: Just as generic Windows program icons. The sequence suggested by melonhead doesn't do anything for me. I am using K-M 74 beta 4, and the file associations wizard (from 1.5.x) doesn't help either. Please let me know if y

Quoteguenter The profiles can be used for cutom jobs. I use customized complete installs instead. HDD space has become cheep. I still don't understand why you would ever need separate installations or profiles for one person, but I guess I don't need that functionality anyway. Quoteguenter tete009 offers a finished build. VC8 Express by MS is available for free and sufficient. But h

I suppose Profile Manager would be useful if I had multiple users using one portable installation. Thanks for the suggestions! I don't have VC8 or know how to make custom builds or anything, but PaleMoon looks quite good for my purposes as a secondary browser. I stumbled upon it a few years ago but haven't really checked it out until now. It's actually quite impressive... tho

QuoteDorian Quotethomase13 YouTube comments do not work. Just found the reason: third-party cookies are forbidden by default. Is there a simple option for me to change this myself, or should I just wait for it to be changed in the next release? QuoteDorian Quotethomase13 I am still having a problem with the Web search button. For web search problem see my post in this thread Th

Thank you for replying, guenter! I have installed K-M 74 beta 4 now and have a folder on my portable drive with all personal settings. I could not understand how the "profile manager" could help me, as I only have one profile, and there is no way to neatly package up your personal settings from there, but I found this page from the wiki helpful, though it may be slightly out of date (l

Hi Bill, Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you've found K-Meleon. Do try out the latest release, K-Meleon 74 Beta 4, and you can let us know if the glitches still exist then on that thread. Best Regards

Thank you for this update Dorian! I am wondering how to properly update K-Meleon or switch my preferences between different versions and computers. I am guessing the new update will override my current settings? Should I be keeping a zip folder with my settings to extract to each version, or how is this normally done? Thanks!

Hi there, I have just discovered K-Meleon 1.8.24, and I see it has no installer. I have extracted it into my Program Files, so I can execute k-meleon.exe, but I am wondering: where is setdefault.exe in this version? Do I have to manually set it as default and create shortcuts for this version? It would be nice to have a simple Custom option in the User Agent menu like in K-M 74. As I s

Quotemartinw2 I had exactly the same problem as above with the search engines (reported in bugs forum). I found a bit of a fix by copying the search.xml from the main K-Melon folder into the documents and settings-K-Melon folder. Clearly in windows XP the program takes some of the settings from the 'documents and settings' rather than the program being self contained. I got back all th

Quotec-sanchez Ok, recently try running K-Meleon 74 beta 3 on Windows XP SP1 (Yeah, 1)[...] It is a shame that requires SP2 or SP3 (I'm not sure what can be) to operate. I am just curious, but why haven't you updated to Service Pack 3? It's one thing to still be on Windows XP (I am!), but why would anyone still be on SP1? Do SP2 and 3 remove any actual functionality (other th

QuoteJamesD @ thomase13 Regarding history, the code in your skin's "toolbars.cfg" file should look like this: For Klassic see line 106 or nearby. %ifplugin macros History{ macros(Places_History)|Histor&y View History. toolhot.bmp[12] toolcold.bmp[12] tooldead.bmp[12] } %endif That code calls this code in places.kmm in root/macros. QuoteJamesD Quotethomase13 I would like my current tab to stay in the foreground when I Ctrl-click to open a link in a new tab. There is an option which looks like it should do that, but the checkbox is greyed out! You can use EDIT - CONFIGURATION - ACCELERATORS and add the following line. CTRL LButton = ID_OPEN_LINK_IN_BACKGROUNDTAB Save the file and restart KM. Thanks James — tha

Quoteguenter Support for XP seems not to have stopped here not yesterday but some while ago. I really hope this is not true. I do not blame anyone (except for maybe Microsoft) for all of the things in K-Meleon that are broken running older operating systems. What Dorian did is nothing short of a miracle (through a heck of a lot of hard work and knowledge). He resurrected this great browser fr

Quotesiria Hi thomase, great to have you here I'm also a fan of klassic skin and a long time ago made an extended version of it, with more buttons and lots of descriptions in the toolbars.cfg. Perhaps you'd like to try it too, it's called classiria skin http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?10,100114 (IIRC one of the button descriptions -page colors?- is still wrong, but jus

I have tried what you said. I've changed the target directory to a number of things, restarted a bunch of times, locked and unlocked the toolbars, changed the name of the Links bar to see if it would show up, but it's really not there! Also, when you add a page to Favorites, it simply adds the page to the root Favorites directory It should ask you every time. I know that's an

I tried what you said, but to no avail. My page forward and page back keys still do nothing. But my PgUp and PgDn keys now act as Back/Forward! I took a look at the configuration page, but I don't see any key code that would correspond to those unfortunately. Oh well, I guess it's Alt-Left and Alt-Right for now! On an unrelated note, the left and right arrow keys don't w

I am also having a problem with the Web search button. I had used it to search with Google from the address bar in K-M 1.5.4, but now it will only search Wikipedia no matter what I change my settings to.

Thanks Zero3K! I copied those files to the K-M directory, and couldn't figure out why it made absolutely no difference. Then I opened a tab, and it was fixed! Ideally of course, there would be a frame around the whole window, even when maximized, including the sides and the bottom above the status bar. I usually have the tab bar hidden with just one tab, but I'll change it to al

Thanks for the reply! The keys I am referring to are the "page back" and "page forward" in the grid with my arrow keys on my IBM ThinkPad T60p. They simply take you back and forward a page as an easier alternative to the toolbar buttons. I didn't realize how much I used them until this stopped working! I know you can use Alt + Left/Right arrow, but it's just n

Hello, I've just discovered K-Meleon (through the Web browser "ballot box" in Windows XP). I have always used IE, and haven't wanted to switch because I thought it was the definitely the only browser supporting favorites. I had used Chrome Frame for a few months, to allow IE8 to render newer Web sites properly with a standards-complaint engine, but support for it has ended
