This is a very good idea. Can this get stickied or because addons/extensions technically aren't official we cant? Also should links to the threads where disrtupted had screenshots of them be linked here? Or is it just gonna be a list thread? Reeko

QuotePaul @Reeko I did an 18hr marathon on saturday with it! It's running well on 256mbs (I think thats due to not needing active AV's of any type!). And above all it's a great learning curve for a novice. I mentioned it to a friend earlier today and unknown to me he's a big linux fan/user so he's gonna come to my place and tutor me!! Great stuff, again your post

@foobarly I understand what you are saying but my computer doesn't and likely paul's wouldn;t pass the bios cut off. I did get debris linux which is based on ubuntu to boot but it didn't load the gnome panel. So basically it was just a shell that you could do nothing with. I really would have liked it to work but it didn't work. I had ubuntu on my laptop and didn't see i

QuotePaul Reeko, Just to say I'm slowly getting there with all the very helpful tutorial this thread has created. Gonna take more than a w/end though to fine tune it! Good fun though, I've learnt more through this and enjoying going back to correct the mistakes. Fantastic stuff. Thanks for your original post I would probably never have bothered otherwise. No need to thank me. I

QuoteSlayer Everything is fine, the Youtube Macro works. I don't know what I did wrong the first time, when I installed Aspell and like five Macros, the Tools (Herramientas) menu was all wrong. So I uninstalled everything and I started this thread. My new question is, you install an EXE plug-in, it's easy, but how do you uninstall it? I don't know either. I just pay attention to

QuoteSlayer Thanks for your fast replies! I have installed the Spell Checker and it works perfectly, I'm now in the searching for dictionaries. About recovering closed Tabs, I was referring from recover them from a list, can that be done? Are those Macros and extensions compatibles with the last version of K-Meleon? Can a macro plug-in take data from the sites visited recently? Thanks

Quotecaktus QuoteMatteo hi, it seems to me that k-meleon is faster (and load pages faster) if, instead of installing it, i just launch the .exe file everytime i need to use it. in fact i didn't install it at all on my pc, not yet at least. Anyone got the same impression? I'm curious as to how you got a working K-Meleon.exe with out running the installtion. Once you mentioned t

Fred I wanted to personally thank you for the very informational post you have made in this thread. You've answered questions that haven't even been asked even though they would be. If you would see how many linux forums are out there, and see someone bump their threads 4 times just because no one has cared to respond. Reeko

@foobarly Would you say that Slax is a good learning distro? I know that puppy is also but the look of it and the fact that when you install .pets they are sometimes hit or miss and take a long time to show up in the menus. Actually ubuntu was pretty easy when I messed around with it except for a few things. Reeko

Quotepanzer Modified Opera: Opera Unite for Windows Opera Unite is a special version of Opera 10 that now enables you to download and install various modules that will enable you to share data with other users. The modules available include a file server (so you can share files, such as documents and other data), a media server (so you can access your music files from another computer), a photo

Opera is great but when it comes to KM. You can customize it so damn easy once you know what you are doing. You can probably do that with Opera but when I was using it I had to go through this, that, there, next to, under, scroll then check this box just to make a tiny adjustment. When in KM ummmmmm press one key lol Reeko

Quotecaktus Quotereeko124 Yes just run it from the cd. The only downside is any thing you run can't be saved when you shutdown. You can on usb though. Have had a little quirks here and there with it but nothing major yet haha. I haven't gone to a myspace page yet to see if it locks up a browser yet. It likely will. Paul, I've been messing around with this linux distro the past few days.Slax Linux Really light 190mb liveCD and easy to understand. I had a connection and audio issue but I figured it all out. To install it all you need to do is unrar the iso and place it in your c:\ drive with a couple files and add a line to your boot.ini file. Or edit one of the files and put it in its own partition.

Quotendebord DasFox, I couldn't agree with you more about caring that future KM's have a small footprint, but I have to disagree with you about KM 1.5.3 crashes and problems with multiple tabs being open. I have a Thinkpad T40 with 768Megs Ram, running XP PRO SP2. I have not seen any problems with multiple tabs being open and wonder why you are seeing this particular problem when I&#

Quotedesga2 Can someone explain detailed (with steps) how to detect this problem? Windows version, K-Meleon window size is maximized? This happend with a specific number of tabs opened? What web site (URL's) are loaded? Thanks. On paul's and my end it has nothing to do with km. Its the simnple fact our computers are old . We just have to deal with it for the time being. R

Hey Paul can you stream video and play wmv files ok? I have read everything under the sun but there is no solution for my problem. I use hardly any ram so it has to be cpu related I would guess. Does your computer start fast? For my cpu to be so slow I am up and running in 45 seconds with everything loaded. Have you turned off any services to make it faster? I have a total of 12 services w

QuoteDasFox Quotedisrupted bad install and/or corrupted profile I highly doubt any of this... By the way even 1.5.2 I noticed acts a bit sluggish too when you minimize and maximize it will running other applications, but not as bad as 1.5.3 There are many instances I just can't name, because it happens so often, but for a short time KM will stop responding and just hang and then star

With the problem you had you probably didn't notice that you learned a lot of things without thinking about it. Kind of like me with linux. I tried to setup a modem to work in it. Well I never did get it to work but in those 2-3 days that I tried I learned command line without even thinking about it. If I wanted to learn there is not way I would have taken the time . I am glad that we could

use k-meleon.exe The only trace would be if you downloaded something to the hard drive. Also if someone monitors their computer connections. If you don't use multiple profiles it is portable the second you install it . Reeko
