It actually kept the focus with the dotted line around the last used link :-( But if you or anyone can give me a script line that actually works for removing that marking (a bookmarklet that works successfully) then I'm rather sure the variable would get emptied too...

QuoteMarkSUnrelated question: Other people are putting a box around quotes. Does the Formatted Code option on the Forum toolbar do this? I tried it, but the Preview just showed <code> before and after the quote. Highlight some lines and then click the button just left of the code button, the icon is a large " character. Or instead of clicking on "Reply" to start a post one

Hmm... Glad it works now, but... QuoteMarkS...There is still no file named bookmarks.html (....) ...the Profile directory window contains two files: bookmarks, and bookmark_backup. that doesn't make much sense to me, am wondering if your file explorer is still set to "hide known extensions" or such? But wouldn't a search still find a filename with its ending and list i

Oh, little misunderstanding, sorry! The variables really are only from the *current* tab or window. The prob is just that there's no way (for me) to make it "forget" e.g. the last clicked link on that page. The one with that little dotted line around it... The heart of the problem is that I just don't know how to figure out if at this moment the mouse is *hovering* over a li

Man, Mark, that was just a little typo, can happen in a hurry, but IMHO wasn't that hard to realize he meant this one: Edit > Configuration > Profile directory But that is only the *default* location. Well possibly that you had chosen another. No problem either: Menu Bookmarks > Options On the right pane there's a field with the full path of the current bookmar

ABP is not part of the original K-Meleon, it's an extension. There are several threads for it, the latest update is here, in the extensions forum: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,107876

Ah okay, just guessing, but that looks like a bit funny combination of messed home page and forgotten path to the old profile... No idea why (crash??), but if so, there are various ways to get the old profile back, which is just another folder in your parent profile directory. And the profile directory can either be in your windows user settings, or inside the KM program folder itself (=portabl

Interesting stuff and links, thanx Doon! Actually that scenario found by mhf and guenter was so outlandish to myself, I would never have guessed it, somehow expecting that KM would always create its own folder somehow. Oops. Thinking about it again... When I uninstall something it usually asks "Do you really want to uninstall program XY?" My old machine doesn't usually ask for

Did you have a crash before? That often messes up the start page and jumps to that language page for some reason, little bug but harmless. To repair the homepage it mostly helps to go to F2(=Edit>Pfeferences) > GUI Appearance (=first tab on top) > At Startup > Restore Default. Otherwise you can also get the normal english homepage back manually, if you choose the readme.html in the

QuoteDaraHowever, why isn't it possible that there was something wrong with the uninstaller as there was with the program after it had been installed? Well, personally I doubt that for the simple reason that otherwise the forum would be full with complaints ;-) Unless perhaps, some very rare combination of some settings or programs or drivers whatever... Although I can't quite imagi

The suspicious thing is that he (it) *never* refers to anything in a post. It's just all-purpose dummy sentences which can be posted everywhere: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/search.php?1,search=,author=tz2010 And still some are too off to make any sense in a forum like this one, and seem aimed too clearly at bloggers. Especially that he "accepted this blog", which means so

QuoteguenterQuotemhf...and just to make sure : where did you install KM..? That is IMHO exactly the question. The deinstaller prompted/warned You: can I uninstall ... Most uninstall.exes delete the files in their folder! Now if You have had installed K-Meleon into a root folder instead of its own program folder and clicked away that warning.... Oh...!!! :O Now I see... And that would exp

More: Where exactly did you download that KM-version? And could it be that later you downloaded somewhere a program that infects other programs uninstall routines with a hidden virus...? Personally I know only very little about antivirus stuff, but when did you run a last check, and whith what program? Do you happen to have some expert at hand who could examine your computer...? :-/

Someone testing a spam-software...? Was wondering about earlier postings already, was never anything specific to a thread, but now it's getting a bit too suspicious, too off IMHO to be a 'real' poster...

Just verified, and as usual he included the folder structure inside the zip. So you can unzip the whole zip into the KM program folder and the files will automatically land in the correct folders Or look inside the zip, or unzip to a new folder if you want to check the folder structure. Then again, looks like you did that, so... Is there no folder structure? For me it's there... The kmm

Sure, back up any way you prefer, I do that too For the details I can't tell much, am no expert ;-) All I know is that unknown js-files in a profile folder are not read automatically, so I suppose KM probably only reads files and folders with the known default names, but cannot guarantee that ;-) Oh well, "gettings slow" is very unspecific of course, could be anything. Well po

Looks like adress bar history is contained in prefs.js in the profile folder. If you type about:config and filterword url, it shows the entries, named MRU (most recently used). No idea which parts you messed, but I'd just try copy over the whole old prefs.js with the history, while the browser and loader are closed, and then restart and check if your problem was transferred too or not. No prob here. KM154 User Agent DEFAULT = normal Javascript must be allowed, but guess you have that anyway. My Cookies are blocked, Ads blocked, po

Well, I opened the profile folder of KM16a4 and renamed the hostperm.1 to disable it (have a block there for "doubleclick" ad cookies). Restarted browser and disabled also the native AdBlock (F2 > Content Filters > CSS AdBlocking, or in Tools>Privacy>Block Advertisements, about that menu entry I'm not sure if added by myself or native). Now there is *something* on th

Sorry for hesitating so long, but that's one of my macros that I'm not quite happy with yet :-( So no new download link... Two probs, the configuration is just too complicated and confusing for normal users, and additionally still no workaround found for this really annyoing problem: Impossible to tell for SURE whether the mouse is over a selected text at the moment, or over a link

Uah... Anyway, when I click that link now and then the second link, the URL bar changes accordingly, quite normal. Tested in KM154 and KM16a4 with default user agent. I am NOT going to test *this* page with javascript and other stuff allowed though, that stays firmly blocked and is my default setting... No idea how you managed that, but try with blocking some stuff in Tools>Privacy. Frankly

Your links don't work. You sure the domains are ending on "html"?? If the URL bar doesn't change the adress when clicking a link, the reason usually is that the webmaster has intentionally programmed it that way, he *wants* that the link opens in a frame, some sort of embedded in the first page, in order to still show the first URL in the bar. That's quite normal, often

That's funny... While playing around with it, youtube somehow disabled the CSS completely, creating some sort of mobile view! Which only went away after deleting the youtube cookies! Especially the one named something with "VISITOR-INFO". Not sure but I suspect it has to do with that country question they posed me in the beginning, and which needed javascript to disable that messag

Set it in the browser: F2 (Preferences) > Browsing click the dropdown field and check the various settings to open all sorts of stuff in a new tab. click on tab "Window Diversion" and change the settings there too No idea if that can only be set in a browser or if there's a (new?) html command for it...
