Sorry, cannot test much on my old machine, better leave that bug testing to others who can run KM74 as their main machine and online. Just perhaps a partial workaround, hoping it helps a bit in some cases: instead of copy/paste an adress from one website into another, if you can highlight the new adress with the mouse or cursor, you can then click on the Go-Button. Depending on the setting in

QuoteYogiJust wonder which original 25-kB bmp are you referring to? As for 16-color BMPs, imagine how nice skin they would make. Sorry, wasn't yours but James. See previous page. For that green mini thingee 16 colors sure are enough  James, to get transparency look at johns irfanview screenshot. - Open any pic with IrfanView - "SaveAs", choose png, - click on &quo

Sorry have not tested yet, am still on my old online machine here and it's bothersome dragging out that crappy offline one. Guess it makes more sense anyway if such comprehensive stuff is tested by people actually using KM74 fully and online. But couldn't help modifying the kmm into a (IMHO) cleaner version, that doesn't require users to manually edit two macros. (if anyone d

LOL! It doesn't really save that much. Converted James' original 25-kB bmp manually into a 16-color bmp with irfanview, and now it's just 3.2-kB bmp Seriously, in times when no one seems to care a thing about loading web pages with megabytes of scripts and css files, 1kB really is nothing. Not even on my ancient machine.

QuoteguenterGuess I should update to a newer Irfan Viewer. LOL! Looks like we had the same sudden brilliant idea when looking at Johns screenshot And to my amazement the current version can even show a fixed grid! The only drawback is it seems to have a little bug, that grid isn't quite so "fix", when scrolling it looses 1px at the sides.

What does that rvj-thing mean? Does it have any deeper meaning? Because otherwise it would be a lot easier to understand and handle when just renaming the whole macro and the commands in them to mtypes2.kmm / macro mtypes2 / menu mtypes2 etc.

Just had a quick look, no test. Compare the kmm with the native mtypes.kmm The new one uses the same macro command name "mtypes", that can sometimes give conflicts if the old one isn't deactivated in F2/plugins/macros The traditional parent menu is "Preferences", which is a submenu of "Edit". The one in this latest rvj places it in the kmabout menu, which i

Nothing complicated about converting a plain magic-pink pic into a png with just 1 transparent color: Open old bmp with IrfanView (or any normal image editor), then SaveAs / PNG, check option transparent, save, click into background. All pixels with the same color (be it magenta or any other) get fully transparent. More complicated than transparency is to stick the hot/cold/dead version tog

Quotesiria Adobe Reader does have it in its own settings! A checkmark field to open pdf links either indirectly in the browser or directly in Adobe Reader. Switching this directly in the Adobe settings finally helped to stop IE from opening pdf's in an own browser window No idea if it helps on your machine too, but have you tried already?

Don't know about it, but looking at the about:config page there actually show up 2 mozilla prefs when filtering for "smooth". Perhaps just try if toggling them might help?

It's not about copyright. Not everything that is allowed necessarily makes sense just because it's allowed! Ehre wem Ehre gebührt, und außerdem: I for one prefer to have an idea about the source of things. For example when I come across a complicated wiki article posted by kko, jsnj, dorian that has a completely different weight as if posted by someone unknown to me or known as a ne

You are the author, you should be the poster too At least for the very first version. And am rather unsure how to best name it. Will the page be exclusively for how to transfer FF-addons? Or about xpi-addons in general, incl. possibly future original KM ones?

Quotegordon451Part of the problem is the out-dated content, and that will not be so easy to fix, as we discussed above. That is the huge #1 prob of the wiki, and it gets really much worse if anyone adds to badly outdated content a new date. Redirecting all navigation links to the welcome page (whether that makes much sense is another question) is definitley not worth messing the date for clu

guenter, you keep telling that the whole bookmarks.html wouldn't get stored, didn't exist at all or were write-protected. But at least 3 users have now said that their new TITLES of the bookmarks do get saved, just not the URL. That sounds to me that their bookmarks.html IS changed and stored, only incomplete. Perhaps 2 different bugs? There should be more testers.

Seems a serious bug yet in KM74.0, here too: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?3,128382 Now you only mention the msv-dlls, but your own link said to copy over the bookmarks.dll from 1.6 into kplugins (the msv-dlls are only helper files for this old bookmarks.dll, probably only necessary if not already in some global windows folder somewhere)

QuoteJamesDI think I may see where Dorian is going with the requirement for same size. If I wanted a mail button from the mail/news toolbar to show in my main tool bar, I would just include its name, action, tip, and right action in the position I choose in the buttons list for my main tool bar. Basically that's how the current system works too, except it also has the icon defined right i

QuoteLarkspurI read yesterday whatever threads I found on the subject of Adblock Plus, but I fear they tread into waters that are very unfamiliar to me; namely how to work with macros. It's all Chinese to me. Macros are quite simple, so even I can write them Before KM74 came around which can now use some xpi-addons (FF), macros were basically the KM-addons. I think the most confusing t

Hi Gordon, just noticed you're extremely busy with the wiki currently, changing the breadcrumb headlines to all point to the welcome page and overall modifying a bit headline looks and link styling. Unfortunately this makes outdated pages now look like new and up-to-date ones with a brandnew editing date For example the Search Engines page had the last edit in 2008, before you merely redi

Ah okay, so you found it meanwhile. Great. Actually they say that KM74 can now run many more native FF extensions, what KM1.6 couldn't do at all, and especially AdblockPlus shall run fine. Just the installation is rather complicated yet in the current KM version, will probably get better in future versions. There are already several ABP-installation descriptions shattered across the for

If you have separate folder names for the different installations, there should nothing be overwritten. But personally my main machine is still on win98, and I always prefered portable installs, with the profile folders inside. My other notebook is on Vista and always offline, but my test installations of KM74 have no probs there either, all my various KM versions can still be used independent.

Can't figure it out... too complicated... Same ??? as James and John... Plus: riddling how would a user customize his buttons? Which to hide or show, how rearrange the order... ? How to mix buttons from different image bars into same toolbar, and vice versa...? if possible at all.... and if possible it still looks a *LOT* more complicated than today... *too* complicated. QuoteLinusSpecifically I want to resize the text with CTRL+MouseWheel and CTRL++ and CTRL+-. Text resizing doesn't even have a default shortcut now. The wheel configuration is a hidden mozilla pref. Crazy! So I take this as confirmation, KM supports transparent macro-buttons on old systems (win98+win2000), but newer systems fail, incl. win7! And it probably depends on the windows theme :O Your multi-system test may very well be a key to solving that mystery. Just for curiosity: What does your virtual win7 do with a multicolor-transparency button like those on Auras mainbarDEAD?? (1+1 = a

Try with the rebarmenu test macro, it creates buttons too ;-) You'll have to make sure to pick a black pic from the Aura mainbarCOLD for the test, but I trust that's no prob for you Since the macro was originally written to only test menu checkmarks, the default pic is hotlist.bmp, but I'm afraid that's one of those with nightgray background color but black alphachannel in

Perhaps that helps sometimes, but then again, I nearly always open links to background (with middleclick), and when the first tab hangs the new ones are usually hanging too :-/

Thanks for testing, so this rules out any macro syntax details too. But still the transparency IS supported for macro-created buttons too - just not on *your* machine. That's too weird, that it works on my age old machine and not on yours! What in the world is blocking it on yours??? Any setting? Any system stuff? Not the slightest idea. Anyone else out there? Does it work for you? Or

Forgot to mention: the whole menu doesn't get refreshed, incl. the text, not just the checkmarks. KM has this beautiful possibility to change menus on the fly with setmenu, so I had tried workarounds with renaming menu lines to "bla bla (ON)" or "bla bla (OFF)" when toggling some pref, but no chance. Still shows old text too, until the menu is opened the first time in a
