It might help to know that FavRenAdd will not rename and add the Microsoft Technet page either.

@ kko So I would get the same answer, false, for a BOOL type perf for not existing and for being set to false? I was hoping I would have three choices - missing, true, false. I guess I could just type INT instead. Perfs.js has comment not to edit file. Is there a way to delete user perfs? What happens if Perfs.js is edited while KM is not running? I don't want to be putting user p

Is the userperf written to perfs.js or to user.js? The reason for question is how to clean up after testing some code ideas. I would need to be able to delete the test userperfs so I could see how the macro reacted to a system without them. Another question would be what is returned by getperf() if the userperf does not exist?

I found lines in menus.cfg that say Tools is &Tools, but my code gives an error saying there is no macro called Tools. What is the actual name of the Tools menu? _PgLdSound_ModMenu{ setmenu(&Tools, popup,"Page Load Sound"); setmenu(Page Load Sound, macro,"ON"); setmenu(Page Load Sound, macro,"OFF"); setmenu(Page Load Sound, macro, separator); setmenu(Page

I am not sure about cache, but there may be another solution to your needs. Under the file menu there is a "Save page as" option. That works for me. I have folders full of saved pages. Some I keep for a few hours and others I have kept for months. You can save just the HTML or you can save the HTML and the files that go with it.

@ kko Many thanks, It seems so easy when you do it, but I get confused about the " and the \" when together. Your statement works great. I can now have chimes when the onload happens. I am still looking at code to see if there is anything to key from when a download completes. Not everything is reported to the Macro Language. exec("\"".getfolder(UserMacroFolder

More information -- This statement works. exec("C:\\Program Files\\k-meleon\\Profiles\\default\\ae3wngxv.slt\\macros\\sounder.exe"); Sounder says only relative paths supported. What is a relative path? What is the working directory when KM is running?

Is there any documentation on how to use the exec statement in the Macro Language? I have used it to call WSscript but that is a special case and does not seem to work for other programs. I need to call "sounder.exe" which is in my user macro folder and pass it one argument which is the name of a wave file. I can obtain the path info and put into a variable, but for now I just need t

@ JujuLand I am not sure how to use Aspell. I can get the macro to run from the right click and it correctly highlights the misspelled word. The right spelling is at >1. What do I do then? I have tried typing a "1" and a "r" but nothing is replaced in the text field in KM. The "i" does go on to the next misspelled word.

Maybe I installed things in the wrong order. I installed the extension first and then I installed Aspell and the dictionary. Under TOOLS - SPELL CHECKING - ASPELL I have two items. The first is Set Aspell dictionary. When I do that the "en_US" is pre-entered so I click OK. The second option is Set Aspell path. I get the error message as soon as I click on that. No chance to enter

@ JujuLand I have loaded the extension, Aspell, and the English dictionary. I set the dictionary to en_US but when I try to set a path to Aspell I get a message the "The systen cannot find the specified path." I am not given a chance to set a path. I am sure that I did something in a wrong order or place but I don't know what. I installed Aspell and the dictionary in their d

@ Charlie I did a test to see if making more than just one or two favorites in a session would present a problem. I did ten new favorites. I put 7 into sub folders that already existed and 3 into sub folders which I created during the Rename-Add process. I did not restart KM during the test. I was able to verify the creation of each favorite by using the EDIT sub menu of FAVORITES. I did f

@ Charlie The item in your last post that is of great interest is than the first few times it worked and the message was displayed, but that later it became random as to whether it would display a message. I will need to run some tests. One question - Did you restart KM during your tests? If so, did the begin to appear each time for a while after restarting?

@ Charlie I think we need to do a little debug on FavRenAdd.js on your system. I want you to insert one line of code so that the filespec for the new shortcut is sent to a message box for you to see. Edit FavRenAdd.js and add the line that is bold in the same position that I have. Run KM and Rename-Add some shortcut to a folder in Favorites. The message box should have the exact path to th

@ Charlie Is the KM's Favorites you spoke of a sub folder of Favorites? I did not intend to handle writing shortcuts to a folder that was not Favorites or a sub folder of Favorites. I don't think you have to recopy the FavRenAdd code. If it showing Rename-Add in the menu it is in the right place and working. There should be no reason to restart the computer.

It is hard to have K-Meleon both ways. By that I mean we can't keep it simple and fast if we ask everything to be added into the code. I prefer the simple and fast for myself. I did not find it difficult to use the instructions provided earlier in this thread to include color change links for pages visited or links that use Javascrip. Lines in my user defined style sheet are: /* --

@ Charlie I understand what you are saying but I can not duplicate that on my machine. The fact that there is an arrow on your sub folder "K-Meleon" only indicates that it is a folder. It does not indicate that there is anything in the folder. Try this and let me know what you see. Go to Favorites - Edit and click on your folder "K-Meleon" in the left hand frame. Tel

@ Charlie The FavRenAdd macro adds the renamed favorite outside of K-Meleon. This means that the normal Favorites menu will not "see" the new favorite until KM is restarted. You should, however, be able to see the new favorite using the "edit" item in the dropdown menu. The Edit feature looks at what is on the disk in real time. You can even double click on the new favo

@ Nith With regard to the problem of Windows Scripting Host being disabled on you machine, I found this info http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/guide/sas_sbp_lhak.mspx?mfr=true I do not think this is answer to your favorites problem but I wonder if any other "adjustments" have been made to your machine that might change how K-Meleon works.

@ W98user I am not sure if disable of the download can be done, but for security I do the following. Go to EDIT - PREFRENCES - DOWNLOAD and look in the section "When Saving". I check the box for "Ask to open/save the files" and also choose "Prompt for location". That gives me some control what is downloaded and where it placed on my computer.

@ kko Thanks @ Vick Just go to the K-Meleon MacroLibrary http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/MacroLibrary and look on that page for FavRenAdd under the heading GENERAL. Click on FavRenAdd which will take you to a page http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KmmFavRenAdd where the code for FavRenAdd is located. From there it is just cut and paste to make two files on your computer. Open No

Just an extra piece of information about FavRenAdd that I found. Although the favorite is written outside of KM and normally you would have to restart KM in order to see it, you can get it right away. Just click FAVORITES - EDIT. That option works with the favorites on disk in real time. Just click on your new/renamed favorite and it will open in a new window.

I have made an attempt at providing localization information for FavRenAdd. I do not know if it correct. I put the information on my web page at http://www.perigee.net/~jmd8421r/KM%20Localization.html If anyone thinks any part of this is ready for the FavRenAdd page in the MacroLibrary then you have my permission to add it. If an part needs changing before adding, please feel free to make

@ Nith The user_pref("kmeleon.plugins.favorites.load", true); is needed so that K-Meleon calls the favorites.dll at startup. That one needs to remain in the file. We were looking to see if there was a user-perf that directed the favorites locations to some folder other than the default. I do not see any such user-perf in your file. Look in the kplugins folder under K-Meleon and

@ Nith We do not want you to run the file. You need to edit the file. If you right click on the perfs.js the second item in the menu should be "edit". Clicking on that should start notepad to edit the perfs.js file. Look for a line that looks like this user_pref("kmeleon.plugins.favorites.directory", <...>); If there is a line like that then delete that line
