I was getting the same problem in an old version of htmlarea that I use on my education site. I will turn of find as you type. The lack of in page search associated with the web sear field becomes more of an issue.

This solution worked for me, to get K-Meleon to remember bookmarks, toolbar positions, "remind me when" settings, window sizes all on on Win 7. I understand from an earlier thread that installing the multi user option will also result in K-Meleon doing the following for us. I hope that the single user install will also change the properties one day but in the meantime Browse to

I have search plus installed but I am failing to see how it allows me to search the web and in the page. Either I missed your last post, or my reponse is not be displayed in the correct order. The former, I think, sorry.

I have installed Search+ but I am not seeing a way of finding (jumping to) the web-searched term in the search results, without retyping it. Is there a way?

First of all, with regard to the hair extensions, I am sorry. I had set (by default?) "Google browse by name" which I was unaware was different from Google. As for the need for searching twice...I am sorry for the confusion. Once apon a time seaching the web and searching in a page were two different things, but a few years ago arrived seach bars with seach in page functionality

kmextensions is merely an example. Many other search terms also result in websites other than google it seems. The main problem is that to search for a term it seems to be necessary to search for it twice, once on the web, and again in the page. Which for a fast browser seems notably slow.

Thank you very much for your kind attention. Quotejsnj F2(Preferences) - Browsing - Finding Websites - Keyword Autosearch - Search Engine. Thank you but I already have that set, but still get the hair extensions when I type kmextensions followed by return in the url bar. Quotetimtak I like the fact that one can type, or use CTRL F, but it still seems that I will have to search, or type

The Freewares threads are nice, but having browsed a lot of pages, I have only found one keeper so far. I want! (for double byte character coded win2k ideally): 1) An extension to the explorer file selection window, that remembers the last folders that I accessed so that I can access them again instantly without having to click through a folder heirarchy. There is a payware for this somewh

Thank you everyone for the advice above. It took me a while to get my act together and install the search bar. I did not really understand the discussion about the skin. I am using the default skin. I have the search bar in position. It is useful because sometimes entering keywords in the URL bar does not work. E.g. I entered kmextensions into the url bar and was taken to a place selling h

Dear Siria and Disrupted I would not say that my favicon problems are solved. On disrupted's instructions (I think) I removed the links toolbar and moved them to the personal toolbar (KM's) which shows some favicons. Flickr has a Youtube favicon and Youtube has none but, some of the others are working correctly. I looked into creating my own icons as Siria suggested but as he

Thank you again for replying Mr or Ms. disrupted. > "once you set chrome.favicons to true, icons in the bookmarks tab will display as in the tab bar" I wonder what the phrase "chrome.favicons" means. Chrome? Google's browser? But anyway, since the tab bar was more reliable than the "bookmarks tab" (the Personal Toolbar?), perhaps I should not have s

Thank you very much indeed. That was quite a big issue. I use Youtube all the time. And now it is solved. Thanks again. I am getting there, slowly, to K-Meleon Heaven! One thing that I would like to say, but I am afraid to, but please allow me, is that on these forums, there seems to be a "that is the website's fault" kind of meme. And I have no doubt whatsoever va

The Youtube favicon is now displayed (and the videos too!), for both Youtube and YU which is my university (yamaguchi-u.ac.jp) on my Personal Toolbar. Deleting IconCashe.dat does not make any difference. And while above I say that the Tab bar is getting all the favicons right, I am now finding that the Youtube favicon is getting all around the place! Flickr, now has a Youtube favicon!

I am not sure but it may be that toolbar icons for sites (in the "Personal Toolbar" or "Link" tool bar imported from IE) are not idenpendently settable, but are dependent upon favicons being cached for that site. The favicons for each site are stored in a file called IconCache.dat if the F2> Cache > Cache website icons on disk is set (as it is by default). I have als

Wow. K-Meleon certainly is configurable. I will use centre click for links and get used to right-clicking when doing mouse gestures. Thank you.

While attempting to watch one of my videos, using K-Meleon I get "an error occured, please try again later" but with Maxthon and the latest IE I can see the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK7W_NgPpl8 I have experienced this more than once, on both an XP machine and on a Wink2K machine while trying to watch Youtube using K-Meleon. The problem appears to be intermittent.

By the way, how does one change individual toolbar icons (specifically for my IE Links toolbar so that e.g. the link button for Youtube shows the Youtube Icon and the link button for flicker shows the flicker icon etc). IFAIK There is no mention of the Links toolbar in toolbars.cfg, or if there is, then all the buttons are set to one icon, without fine grained control.

Wow thanks to Siria and Jsnj I have a mouse gesture, right drag, that searches. It is really quick too - much quicker than maxthon. (with regard to the links, I may use middle click) Being greedy, 1) Is there a way of getting the Macro(search) to open that search in a new window? In search.kmm the relevant line seems to be _Search_Selected{ $OpenURL=$_Search_EngineURL.urlencode(

I am getting this too. Twitter's character counting (java?) script is probably the problem. There is no Tools>User Agent option. Since Twitter is so popular these days it is a shame that it is real tricky to use with K-Meleon.

The amalgamation of url input and search input is a nice idea but, there are a couple of things I miss about a search bar: Icons for Search in Page The google search bar, and other search bars, show a list of searched words to the right of the entry box, that can be clicked to search in the page, and or highlighted. Enter to Search One can type and press enter, rather than type and then

First of all please allow me to congratulate on whoever is behind this for a very fast light browser. I am really liking it so far. I am coming from Maxthon Classic, a light tabbed IE browser, which I have to give up using because it only uses IE engine and my windows 2000 OS won't let me use newer versions of IE. I liked Maxthon because it is light, and because of a particular mouse ges
