Cool pic Just to add that in my Win98SE with KM1.6 I'm using 90% of the time the native KM1.6 identification, NO Firefox in it, and ancient gecko 1.9.1.16 - it also works on youtube, also with my slightly outdated flash9, and they don't even show an "old browser" complaint!! (hm, then again, now I switched to IE7-string for a test, and they complain neither, strange

Ah guys, why revive such a 3 year old thread about old versions when we now finally have a brandnew modern browser :-/

Just noticed you added Up3 to the first post, great! To make it perfect the title could now also be changed to "K-Meleon 74 Release Candidate (Update 2014-08-30)" But wondering about Up1+Up2 - are they contained in U3 now?

FINALLY found a solution for that annoying 32kB limit!! The (minor) catch is that users must simply split their long files on disk, but IMO rather easy using 7z (Start run: 7zFM.exe), navigating it to your scripts folder, then right-clicking on the long files. Or other tools can do it too, or even do it manually without any tools, just make sure the endings of the split files are .001 / .002 / e

The "official" versions are always the ones by Dorian, and in the discussion threads it was said somewhere that systems older than XP SP3 might have a prob. So I guess you're definitely on the safe side with all modern versions

Works quite nicely now! Am just afraid KM74 has quite some differences to older versions and for the time being that train is racing on without me. So am rather clueless and cannot tell much about such details like history. Just thinking, perhaps it would still be easier to maintain a universal multi-version macro with a note here and there, as two completely separated macros? Considering how

Thanks - it's nice to have some local help files, always missed that It really looks like the header causes the scrollbar, even when all body lines are much shorter, like in the ID list. All pages (except desgas list and plugins) are equally about 10% too wide, causing a scrollbar at the bottom. Can only be that the header with its width of 100% plus 2x5% for the borders causes this. But

@JamesD: We should create an own thread to discuss css-stuff, it's going too offtopic here in KM74. I'll find it later this evening.

We're definitely not used to having a prob with too many updates, LOL! But here's an example that I find just perfect: http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?board=25.0

@JamesD: Surprisingly doesn't help much. After some tests, it looks like KmHeader is even worse. Caused by absolute positioning and 100%, plus icons and borders. Guess "absolute" stuff always gives probs for various monitors and font sizes, but on my 1024 screen all seems fine if either no width or only "max"-width for body, and deleting the "absolute" line for

Very nice, local help files! Great, thank you (Little PS: 990px is too broad for my monitor, would remove the fix width in the css)

Oh yes, KM is slightly old-fashioned, and those accel presets probably date back to the first time this function was added... Just a hint, nearly all of the wiki is more or less outdated, most parts are ages old. Only the download page, news, a few chapters of the faq and an odd bit here and there still get occasionally updated. But one can always ask in the forum. Glad you found what you need

Finally thought just for curiosity I'd not just unzip KM74 to look inside, which creates a messed folder structure of course, but try the installer. Knowing full well of course there's no way it would run on my system. Nevertheless, here are some first impressions  Was especially delighted that the installer now explains much better about portable versions and needing writing

If legacy support comes, it will be for win2000, can't really imagine it for 98. The number of surviving systems is dropping more and more towards zero, so hardly worth all the work. Unfortunately copying some js-code into a macro can only manipulate a page *after* it has finished loading fully. From my (limited) understanding the pre-load blocks for JS etc. have always been built into th

QuoteGeorge Hall8 Extract macro and skins from cookieculler+button.7z from K-Meleon Extensions into K-Meleon Root Folder. As always make sure to maintain the same folder structure as in the zipped file. kmm-files go into "k-meleon/macros" folder, and the bmp-image into "k-meleon/skins/default" folder.

Ha, but that thing looks exactly like our KM privbar, just with other icons, but also with the handy right-click options! Will try it in the future when my machine breaks down and forced to use a modern puter which can run 74  (just not expecting dorian to still be around so actively as now, so no chance then for new system features). But in general I'm already very happy with our o

just a little new feature wish  In a few special cases it would be nice to have a CSS Blocker in the privacy menu if possible, similar like those for cookies or scripts, and perhaps objects and DOM. Currently I only have a css-file-toggle after loading, on a privbar button, using it happily and often. For example it works wonders to reveal hidden stuff without needing to load tons of scri

Tsss.. and there I thought of course he had already exchanged your special useragent-macro with the version from KM1.6, after a previous posting told him to do so. Must admit I didn't read all of the previous exchange, only a few posts back. Can you confirm that the profile isn't lost, only has to be copied over again, or is there something special about it in 1.8 too? He did delete the

It's not that difficult really. KM can work either in portable mode, that stores the profiles inside the program folder, which usually is write-protected, so changes will be forgotten. Or KM can work in default mode, that stores the profiles somewhere in c:/users/callahan/... (or similar). That place can be overwritten and keeps the new settings. The mode can be switched by creating o

Quotecallahan OK ... yes I missed that ... I deleted the correct one and restarted KM v1.8 and all my settings are gone. Is this what was supposed to happened Actually - yes  But of course, nothing is gone! It only looks so until you copy over the contents of your old profile folder into the new one. First make a backup copy of your whole "profiles" folder, in a safe place. Th

No, I wrote to delete the file "profile.ini" in the KM folder, NOT "profileS.ini" in the profiles folder, which you deleted.

Okay, using the KM menu is too complicated... Well then, trying my luck too, since you do know this: QuoteI go to Program Files / KM folder... So you have 2 folders for your old and new KM versions, and can look inside? In the new KM folder you find a file "profile.ini"? In the old KM folder it is not? If so, remove this file in your new KM folder, then restart the browser.

Oh... not exactly what I had in mind, but if it works, cool Actually I do not use privoxy or anything, and still only get "page load errors" when using a single word for searching. Anyway, still going to post this too: @dorian: Just about every new user riddles about this, since the wording in the pref tab sounds a bit misleading. It's probably too late for this version with

Well known and easy to solve, but since this is getting too much off-topic here, being general how-to stuff instead of special 74RC related, perhaps it should better be discussed in a separate thread

Whow, that was fast - and you even like it, thank you :-) I'll have to finish it some day, if I remember right just a little bit menu polishing needed yet, but for now just a tip: Open the file stylescriptia_v5.kmm with an editor (notepad, notepad++, whatever), search for "browserstart" and set this line to false: $_StSc_functionwrap="false"; It was a test for de

Can't believe this thread has been dead for three years... Can't believe how much of it I've already forgotten again... And can't believe it took me that many *years* to notice that Shift+LeftClick on a link opens the Save-As popup, if the mouse accelerators are set to the "SeaMonkey" way! Always had set the Firefox-Way because it opens links in the backg

Have just switched myself! It additionally allows to use Shift+Left for "Save Link As", wish I'd noticed that years ago
