If you right-click in a text area, do you see that "Undo / Redo / Paste / etc." menu? And it does not contain below some "Spell..." entry too? Then it must be something wrong with the .kmm file

No idea, sorry Just not sure if you suggest Win2000 only because of that official minimum windows version for KM1.6? But un-officially it's also possible to run it on a KernelEx-ed Win98SE, with a few minor bugs like partly messed favicons (some transparency prob). Admittedly not all machines work right with KernelEx, but it runs fine on mine and allows to run KM1.6beta quite fine too. RAM

QuotendebordP.S. It seems you have to highlight a word, then click on CTRL Q to make the speller show up. Ctrl+Q is the keyboard shortcut, but just right-clicking with the mouse also works. It brings up the normal context menu, which contains an entry for spellchecker. Highlighting isn't needed, only for word-suggestions the blinking cursor must first be placed inside a word too, not just

Yep, I mean Marks new spelltest plugin from this January, v0.0.8 for KM1.6 or newer. It works in combination with the native gecko 1.9 spellchecker already included in KM1.6beta: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,113831,114244#msg-114244 The menu gets visible with either his spelltest.kmm or the SpellCheck.kmm

Well okay, some 2-3 months ago I examined that spellcheck thing quite closely, and put all I learned in the forum thread for my spellprefs macro, and lots more info in the macro file itself. But don't have worked with it since anymore, so only talking from memory now (just hope not too much forgotten meanwhile ;-) Anyway, guess the spellchecker feature was already included in KM1.6beta, s

Hard to tell... There were so many things people missed! Of course I can't remember now... And some have been added meanwhile... You could check the improvement forum and bug forum... But at this moment in time the project is mostly in need of bugfixing, after switching to gecko 1.9.1 (KM1.6beta) and 1.9.2 (KM1.7alpha). And there are also a few special bugs in modern systems, like just so

Oh man... You need to start your windows file explorer, but how to explain such a basic thing, in a new system probably, and in spanish?? Do you know anyone who can show you that directly? Just ask anyone who knows a tiny bit more about computers than yourself where to find "c:" and how to navigate in there, handle files, copy to another place etc.?? Which system do you have? Vista? W

Well, regardless of that acknowledgement thing, which doesn't concern me as I'm just a normal user, the following makes me wonder if you're kidding... QuoteWhat we want here is for you and for all of you to understand that THESE FEATURES ARE NOT YET DONE but it is going to be done in the near future Most of the features you describe are long since included in KM, choosable in

Forgot a little detail in my code sheet above: The numbers 91,92, etc. must be replaced with the own number of engines, or the new ones will not appear in the menu. The engine menu needs 'serial' numbers, no holes in between, not skipping a number in the middle, or it stops listing the rest. So open about:config first and look which number was your last "engine", then start c

Cool I always find it kinda funny that lots of people say they're amazed about the speed, that KM is definitely faster than other browsers they've used themselves. Yet pc magazine tests or such funnily keep telling that KM speed were somewhere in the middle field, if not even kinda slow! I know it depends mostly on the various needs of people, which kind of sites they mostly visit (

And have you tried with K-Meleon 1.6? If scripts don't work in 1.5, they usually use too 'modern' commands that only KM1.6 understands. Not always, but mostly ;-)

Yes, but I'm afraid that doesn't always work on all machines anymore... Not sure why and when. At any rate the only way that helped myself and someone else recently, was to add new entries directly in about:config So I'd suggest to try the normal way first, and if no luck, just use that universal way to add prefs ------------- Yet another alternative: Another possibility

First thought: your description sounds much like you just never have given yourself writing rights in your profile folder, and this happens mostly when a user uses the portable version unkowingly, unaware that this puts his profile in the program folder instead the windows user folder. So if you close the browser, but don't close down the loader too, it's still running in the background

Forgot to mention, regarding that save-dialogue: There's an old pref that is now finally accessible in the pref sheets in desga's beta version In F2>Browsing>File Handling That toggles a pref named... too tired to look up right now, guess something with savedir in the name... It makes that the command file_save_as does NOT pop up the dialogue but just dumps the file into the la

Welcome in the club  I can't count the number of gray hairs and the countless hours I've wasted with that stupid prob of lacking sequentiality (or how to call it) in macros Have a few unfinished monster macros silently buried because of that (to me) unsolvable prob. It was already a nightmare in KM1.5, but KM1.6 (=gecko 1.9) is ten times worse yet! A lousy workaround which help

Yep, I'm quite happy with 1.6beta2 too Just a few minor, mostly win98-related things, the 'worst' of them the transparency prob in website favicons ;-) Just stuff like that, at any rate nothing serious or even dangerous, so I can happily recommend too to everyone to upgrade.

There are default-probs with newer systems, but on win2000 it's strange... Perhaps some other browser is 'hijacking' the default setting to itself?? Most have some setting of the sort "Check each time if I am the default browser", and if that was/is checked, that could be one possible reason. Otherwise - no idea, am no expert either ;-)

Since it works for Matt, perhaps it's one of those windows themes issues again, perhaps it only works in some "classic" theme not Aero or whatever? (clueless but strictly talking from hearsay :cool At any rate I'd say it takes someone who has such a buggy machine to experiment and figure out any reasons or fixes. Perhaps try deleting some more of the kplugins, just for testin

You're supposing wrong First aid: Click the "forward" arrow button in the toolbar, works mostly... Workaround: It's a known issue that's rather young, but you can just disable that backspace=FlipBack shortcut. See notes in FAQ http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/FAQ#backspace

1) that setting toggles the pref named dom.disable_window_move_resize Am no expert, but figured this out by going to "about:config", typing "window", then toggling that checkmark in the prefs tab and watching if anything flips simultaneously in the prefs list  Perhaps do an explorer search in your macros folder, if one of the kmm files contains that text? Well pos

Yep, just switch to KM 1.6b2 It's on the download page. There are many ways for updating, and everyone has their own fave method  Personally I would NOT uninstall the old version first, but - make a backup copy of the current profile folder (*1) - make a backup copy of the folder ..programs/k-meleon... Rename that copy to something like 'k-meleon15' - Now install t

Reading your description, that sounds a lot more like a trojan site, than a lottery site... A harmless site would never insist to sneak out the depths of your machine to such a degree. That said, it sounds like you forgot about faking user agents...?
