Hi, Frustration, sorry for keeping you waiting. QuoteIs there anything else I can post No, first you have to do some tests. ( ahm, well,...: QuoteSo I tried this suggestion for Firefox: I can't see WHICH of the several tips you followed ..) But, no, not now. 1) JRE 1.6.0_21: I dimly remember having had difficulties with that one - forgot if they gave speed problems. But I

OS Version ? You might also start ->tools ->error console in a separate window early in the browsing session. Let the browser window not cover the error console window. For a start, tick "Hide Duplicates" in "Options". Report at least some of the Errors/Warnings. possibly helpful: which extensions installed? when comparing the machine concerned with your smaller

Well, 4td8s, I suggest you do some planning to become able to join the K-Meleon developer's team some time soon, so things can progress faster and more successful. No money being paid, I'm afraid! I deem it *a bit* arrogant of you trying to tell people - of whose professional carreer (edit: plus private obligations .. you do not sound like having kids and a family .. just a gues

Hi, Frustration, and welcome, my first sug*gestion is the same as sirias. Just to make things perfectly clear: when unzipping, stay clear from your existing KM installation - that way you'll be able to import things from there to the new one - but only later, when you have made sure the new one runs smoothly. And let K-Meleon create a completely new profile, do not interfere with that

Hi, 4td8s, I even moved it a second time, to the thread you started. btw.: You do know that noone here gets paid for dev'ing, don't you? I would not consider it ok for me to compare development progress ... But of course, your opinion on that is just as good as mine.

Hi, all, I tried updating the 1.7.a0 with the relevant files from 1.6.a4 cp4 from here - with success. (Well, I did that in 3 steps, weeks & days in between, no documentation - so better not ask ME for a HowTo) On quick first inspection, I didn't find a "Preferences" section not displaying or working ok. There's only that "Crash on Exit" thing ment

Hi, all, as far as I'm concerned, this could safely be called a beta1 and go to the sourceforge download pages now.

Hi, disrupted, and thanks a big lot, this is P*E*R*F*E*C*T now!! Quotethat's why there's a warning on the extension page that it's intended for advanced users only - my answer to this: much (most?) traffic on support forums DOES originate from users having overestimated their own capabilities - and that does NOT exclude me & myself ...

Hi, disrupted, two goodies (3 - including the ManageHosts), thanks - only discovered them yesterday. Just two suggestions: The confirmationbox text could hold more info for the not-so-geeky, e.g.: "This will add this domain's IP number to HOSTS. Faster than DNS querying, but IPs sometimes ARE changed. Affects ALL browsers! Continue?" For the kmblocker, I sug*gest adding

Hi, I just want to give one vote for almost black font on just a bit off-white BG. Better for my old eyes on my old monitors .. I really hate white on black. On a different note: I would strongly support JanesD: Quote I know we want people to download KM, a download menu item, a download button, and the downloads all on the page seem to me to be overkill. But that is just me. Others seem

Google Search in K-Meleon Site & Forum: I would even sug*gest adding that to the default SE's. With a prominent placement and some eyecatching name (see above ...] this might help avoiding some traffic.

Hi, mhf, that IS impossible with sessions, but you could try getting used to using Groups2 instead. (keep the sessions.dll, though - it is needed for the "Undo last closed tab" feature.)

Well, I'd advise against lowering the defences. Do you have any of the link prescanning K-M macros installed? Hi, simpler, if you have no clue at all which of the config changes you made may have caused that, the easiest thing would be to manually create a new profile - keeping the old one, of course - , configure that one to your liking, and later import your personal things from the old to the new one (bookmarks, passwords, search engines ...) HowTo: 1) Find your "Profiles" directory

Bi, this is, for sure, not a problem of bad sniffing. Both pages display well here, under the "default" User Agent. Considering closer one of those URLs: ... /adultseduc.html which almost certainly is read by it's creators as "adults educ", whereas a parental control thing would read it with the blank moved one character to the left. I would suspect an

Hi, adXok, I can't contribute to the Utf thing, but VK_BACK is KM's default accelerator for "go back one page". The default for "Undo" is "Ctrl Z", the opposite one, for "Redo", is "Ctrl Y", - they are the same as in OpenOffice. You can see those accels in your menus - in the context menu, too -, if you have this checkbo

Hi, speedy, there's no way to an in-place upgrade yet, and 1.6 is still in alpha stage .... Even desga2's cp3 version, which can be found here is about to see some more versions before the final 1.6.0 is ready - and any change could require a completely new installation. What you can do safely, is: a) Leave your 1.5.4 installation alone for a start, to always serve as a back

Hi, I'm going to refresh desga2's "portability" tutorial one of these days. For that I tried dreamz' file on my KM 1.6.0.a4, but that did not work. So I hacked the xpcom_core.dll from KM 1.6.0.a4 (had timestamp 2010-04-28) by nuking one of the two "Mozilla" words. It Seems to work here - can anybody confirm that? Can anybody check for other behavior

"PageIndex Seite": danke für den Tip! ButtonsMenus and LongClick would be the "WikiWords" for a page that would deal with A) the fact that KM's buttons have context menus, and that those are working in a special way. (This is a unique feature of K-Meleon. Do you know any other Windows program that has that, too? I know of none.) the special way(s) that th

Thx for that one, too. I was about to start a new page for LongClick, together with ButtonsMenus, but then I couldn't decide how & where, and I started guessing whether two WikiWords can share one page, and how ... Well, not today.
