Sorry, I had a wrong understanding of question. I can say only, that power consumption depends mostly on CPU usage and also (therefore) on Fan activity. It seems that KM's native Win GUI makes KM use a little bit less CPU than FF, but this difference isn't significant. And the engine load on CPU is equal between FF and KM as it's the same Gecko.

Another issue under 64bit Win7: I have about 30 tabs open (but not all loaded after KM-restart). So after some limit of reloaded (activated) tabs KM freezes. This isn't about RAM shortage: I have here 16Gb RAM and only 2,6Gb used by KM (too much though for our lizard, but this is system issue, I T think). So the freeze is something about KM software glitches.

Alpha-transparency IS supported from sometime, BUT only for toolbars, produced by toolbars.cfg. Moreover - partial or even smooth gradient transparency might be used. And more - 'pink transparency' also could be smoothed but it's not easy to create such a transparency. I was lucky enough to produce such images sometime, but cannot describe an algorithm :O

As for me it could be a problem sometimes. But it's not crucial problem. And the really needed thing is the support of png-images (or at least bmp with alpha-channel) by toolbars, created by macros as well as those by toolbars.cfg!

And once again (only to all methods be collected in one place) I recommend use TotalCommander with packer plugins for 7z. Here I can easily navigate through omni.ja (as well as jar, xpi and other packed files), make changes - copy and delete files. Packed files in TC are being opened by Ctrl+PgDown hotkey.

I think that problem here (also affecting skinning) is that toolbars are not unified in KM - there are no standard for toolbar names, for button distribution between them, for button order in the toolbar bmp-file. So it would be useful to work out such standards. I'm going to do something like this for my next Twin...
