I may be mistaken, but most (or all ??) of those mentioned herein also have versions for windoze. Also, I must express gratitude here to Panzer, because it was the entry in his wonderful freeware listing which reminded me to do what I describe below - Thanks Panzer !! My recent browser usages have been centered upon either Seamonkey or Mypal, with an unfortunate sprinkling in of chromium wh

Panzer: As always - huge thanks for your superb listings here !! Just FYI, if anyone is interested - one place that CHEF-KOCH (mentioned herein) hangs out is... https://forums.mydigitallife.net/ And he can be a bit snarky - as shown here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/written-review-of-winrar-v5-80.80777/page-2#post-1582878 Thanks Again, and Best Wishes !!

I'm currently using the NoteStruck with Mypal via WINE for that...sometimes - but mostly I use Zim for my daily note keeping: https://www.zim-wiki.org

If using windoze you may wish to try Centaury or Mypal. if Linux (as with me) Palemoon or SeaMonkey are quite good. Sadly K-Meleon is sort of just sitting inside my HDD these days as it became too crashy for any practical, daily use anymore under WINE.

Hi Siria and as always - thanks for sharing your insightful thoughts !! I actually use more than a dozen (~15 ??) older & still favourite windoze apps via WINE with zero problems; The sole exceptions that have problems are K-Meleon, My Phone Explorer and Atlantis word processor (only sometimes). K-Meleon is the strangest of the lot & I've tried using it via WINE set to 'p

Sadly - the 'new' FF is no longer really even FF anymore - just another chrome clone. (And it seems likely that even further & worse degenerations are on their way...) Fortunately K-Meleon has a great many extensions available & listed/linked right here at this forum. Other, still possible solutions for those desiring customizations & the 'classic' Gecko stu

Now that so much has been lost in the browser realm & it seems like brain-dead browsers have taken over, I ask this: Is there some tool, site or other means (for example...) to feed in a WebExtension and get a 'normal' XPI from it ?? What brings this to mind is a bookmark sync tool from Panzer's wonderful listing, the sites of which are here: https://github.com/marcelklehr

Thanks Again & Again Siria - you are amazing !! I grabbed that just to test it and it has lots to like about it. (Being able to have Tab Mix Plus is a huge thing for me...) As it arrived it is not able to play YT videos & I didn't bother sticking flash into it for that test...yet. It also didn't crash on (WINE) closing my short testing session, which my preferred version of

K-Meleon 75.1 Pro - 76, etc. have all become ultimately & fully crashy running under Linux via WINE 5.x . This is very unlike other windoze apps which pretty much work 100% perfectly now. I finally gave up my daily visits & now depend upon several other browsers to see what is desired MINUS the crashing. Exported my plethora of bookmarks, and used PasswordFox v1.60, from nirsoft.net

@Siria: Just found this info...and used it for YT with success. Ever since latest YT changes browser & CPU seriously choke on it in Seamonkey 2.49.5 . I opened Waterfox instead, and installed: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/uaswitcher/ Changed UA to mimic Opera/mobile: OPR/37.0.2192.105088 (Linux; Android 4.3; C5303 Build/12.1.A.1.207) Amazing change !! Hi Rodocop !! Thanks for such a kind & thoughtful offer in your reply. I don't have any real need to bother him directly, and would only hope that Feodor might visit this thread. (Or even join this forum because I am sure many folks here also admire his works !!)

Greetings Siria & thanks so much for your kind & thoughtful reply here !! Just to be clear - YT is just a minor test that I do in any browser I consider, and only so that I know if that browser is useful for it (or not), this is a low priority function for me. When I do view anything on YT it is done without any log-in as I prefer to avoid being 'product-ized' by the big G

Being as I am now a 100% Linux user, the browser choices open to me are quite varied & interesting. Under Ubuntu Mate 18.04.4 (64 bit) with WINE 5.x added is a very good place to be with regards to said choices, IMO. As I type this out, I am using Mypal 27.8.3 (32-bit), and at the very same time I have Seamonkey 2.49.5 (Linux) open & minimized - and I have already completed my daily

Revisiting this thread many months after making the OP ... Ubuntu Mate has been my main OS for quite a while now & my old XP box is sitting off to a side, unused. Right this minute I am typing this via Mypal 27.8.3 under WINE 5.x - which is incredibly nimble & quick. It is my 'lightweight' browser & the heavy stuff (like YT...) is done in the Linux version of Seamonkey.

Just FYI=> WINE 5.x is really quite amazing & runs windoze apps WAY better than the 3.x versions could do. It is what I use & sadly 75.1 still force closes much of the time.

Hi Siria. I tried several version both older & newer & had no better response, so I'm sticking with the 75.1 Pro version that I've tweaked to my liking - even though it sort of randomly & spontaneously closes itself down. I'd really enjoy knowing the details of someone else's success if you happen to remember the details of that ?? Thanks.

Hi Siria and Thanks !! Yes, I absolutely adored my older K-M versions & have found much sadness in trying to get 75.x & 76.x to even stay open under WINE. My thinking is that perhaps the older version(s) will be more tolerant of that situation & having a whole copy that was confirmed to run on someone else's PC beforehand would give me the confidence of a definitive yes/no as t

This may be a really, really dumb request...but I'll ask it anyhow: Might one of the kind folks here be willing to zip up this whole wonderful result so that dumber folks (like myself...) could get it, open it up & use it ?? Thanks.

And...how about when one wishes to go in the other direction ?? In my case it will be from 75.1 Pro to FF, Palemoon or even Borealis Navigator under Linux. The successful export of my passwords out of 75.1 leaves me with CSV & XML files of my ~2000 login passwords and absolutely no idea what to do with those. Also tried copying in the cert8.db, key3.db and signons.sqlite to these newer

I see the attachment in the OP here, but want to mention that in case anyone is looking, I was also able to get the XPI from wayback, here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/password-exporter/versions/ Also, whilst in between things I found that this is able to export all PW info from 75.1: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/passwordfox.html Just set it to the profile folder &

Just a bit to add here... Gave things a pretty complete run through & the results are not promising. Tried The latest 76.2 and Rodocop's Pro version as well as Roytam's latest Goanna build. All did freaky stuff by running under WINE as well as crashing alot. Oddly - by way of comparison, Roytam's latest Borealis Navigator didn't crash at all. At this point it lo

Wow Siria - this was quite the interesting experimentation to do !! Went through your instructions carefully until I felt OK trying it, then did all you suggested. It opened - sort of kept some of my stuff with the menus & toolbars all mixed up, so I tried to move stuff around a bit and it crashed each time. Looks like it is time to see how I can tweak up the newer version to be similar

Thanks for replying !! It saddens me very much, but it -is- time for me to leave windoze behind and apparently this is just a casualty of that need. And even more scwewy ?!? The Mypal Gecko version browser works perfectly via WINE - fine, quick & hasn't closed on me even one time.

As the title implies - I have both. Also, I had made the effort to make 75 Pro as plain & minimal as my vision prefers for daily usage. So I ask: Is there some simple/easy way via file copying or over-installing that may allow most or all of my preferences, etc. to make the move to the newer & different version ?? I get that this is Gecko vs. Goanna & has all the attendant cha

Being a full time Linux user now AND wishing to keep using K-M Pro as it has been, it made the journey with me. Sadly it is uncooperative and errors out & closes too much whilst doing things that it was always able to do fine before. It also behaves much differently under WINE than when run natively; Trying to scroll and menus are very odd to use now. I am not going to dig into things

I have been helping many disenchanted folks move over to Linux for years already, and got so busy with those efforts that I had to delay my own final & full transition...hence keeping 2 boxes running at my own place. But now I've finally made that leap, with very good results. It has vexed me that I could not use the K-Meleon Goanna builds due to my own insistence at sticking with XP

For me, as a non-coder, I see no sense in grabbing a huge collection of stuff to keep around that mostly will be of no use to me with K-Meleon. What would tickle me happily would be a similar collection of add-ons of all sorts that is somehow neatly organized & specifically ALL for K-Meleon only. K-Meleon remains my most favourite browser & I am using it right now under XP (Rodocop&
