Yeah I guess that is one option, although I never tried it... There are other methods mentioned at those www.msfn.org boards... :s Edit: here's another option... http://www.freewaregenius.com/2008/01/31/

@Darnit I pretty much second what Carson said. In my 'shop', Vista has been nothing but trouble, with constant freezing, no WiFi connection, no drivers for legacy and CURRENT hardware (a big concern for an upgrade), and so on. Try XP -- I was wary of it at first, but after two service packs and some hacks, I haven't had to reinstal in almost a year. It'll be around for

@Carson You can even run a special version of Windows XP out of your USB stick (if interested, try googling), if only the computer allows you to boot from it, but I guess there would be little point in that, don't you think? :p

Elaborating on this, there's a portable version of TOR available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/portabletor BTW Carson, CCcleaner can be made portable by copying its folder to the USB drive, but then you might not have enough privileges for certain operations. TrueCrypt can be made portable as well just by copying its folder, so one could have all of this in an inescrutable contai

Thanks, but it looks to me as just another variant of the full page translation -- hence the u= (URL equals...) after the ? (SRU parser???). What I lack is a text selection method...

The evident superiority of Google Translate to Babelfish (Altavista), which is the default K-Meleon engine, has been nagging me for a while; because of this, although I know very little of the macro language, I decide to fiddle with the translate.kmm macro... I got to it via K-Meleon's "Edit|Configuration|Macros" which basically shows the content of the macro folder; translate.k

Pardon me for being dumb, but where does one finds KM 1.5a builds 21 & 22? Are those the same as the updates on the first post of current thread? Edit: I've checked & it seems the answer to the last question is negative...

QuoteJamesDMidas is right about that preview pane in OE. Get rid of it. My AVG anti-virus checks my mail before it gets to my inbox in OE. The big plus for OE - it is there - it is free - and it works. I do think I will implement the suggestion about the store folder. I think I can speak for Midas on this, as he's still using OE. One of the things most people don't realize -- I

Sorry for flooding, but this looks too good to let it pass: http://bitnami.org/ Which has as a motto: "Install Joomla, Drupal and more in under 10 minutes..." If you don't know those, don't worry -- the main attraction of the site is the availability of portable Web server stacks for all the main OSes: Linux, MacOS, and Windows, of course, which allows anyone to test an

Now on its 1.0 version after years in development, si.Mail is starting to look like a real light weight and stable alternative for a mail client. It is readily portable -- i.e. can be used out of a USB pen drive, for instance -- and easily customizable -- although there's not much to choose from right now in the interface department. It includes anti-spam, mail database indexing and other

QuoteAl.1) READ THE F*** DOCUMENTATION!, 2) SEARCH IN FORUM!, 3) AND ONLY IF ANY RESULT OBTAINED, ASK IN FORUM! Just to point that as much as desga2 advice might be sensible, finding information on K-Meleon is sometimes difficult, even for seasoned users, in the maze of sources that this (crawling) site has always been... In the spirit of the season, let us all be a little more forgiving
