QuoteJamesD What skin are you using for test? The skin I'm using all the time - Klassic. It's slightly modified but this shouldn't have any impact. The PrivBar is shorter. There are only items on it which I use and there are only images without text - makes the buttons shorter (16x16). It workes fine in KM-74 and worked fine in KM-75 b1u1 as well. I've checked now the origina

I've unpacked the b2 over b1u1. It always worked this way till now. Under "Appearence" no skin, no language to select. Images for PrivacyBar buttons have vanished. Same for the image of an extra toolbar button. All the buttons are still working at least. Images for forward and back buttons are empty as well. Only image I have displayed correctly is that of the bookmarks toolbar.

@JohnHell The first link (which is dead) would have been of interest because it also had a screenshot. Ken refers to that screenshot. The rest is a verbal clinch between Ken and some fanboys. At that time not even Ken knew if or what data Kerio was sending out till somebody found out that the called IP was a registration server of Kerio. Kerio only connected to the server without sending a

@JohnHell pcfreak asks if anybody in the forum can confirm what Ken has stated in another security forum (Rokop Security). Ajax confirms the findings of Ken. He explains that no data is sent by Kerio. Kerio makes only a connection to a registration server of Kerio. However this connection is done secretly and without to ask for permission. It's about Kerio 2.xx. Ajax says that as far a

Well, to give you an idea of some changes I did to my system. I've disabled some services I don't use/need. For some services I've changed the start type from "automatic" to "manual". I've unchecked some Network items I don't use/need. For instance: NETBIOS over TCP/IP, DCOM, ... I've uninstalled an essential Windows component called .Net Fra

@JohnHell I did a Google search and found a circumstantial evidence at least. All I can remember is that the discussion took place on a German board. So at least I knew in what direction to search. Try to translate with Google the comment of Ajax. There are 2 people confirming the phonehome Ken and Ajax). In case you don't exactly understand what Google translates, no problem. I'

@JohnHell I discovered it by coincidence but I got confirmed by others too. At that time most software that called home, did it by using the internet settings of InternetExplorer. Since I did never use IE, I set up IE to connect through a bogus server/proxy. Everything that was trying to use that connection ended in nirvana. To my surprise Kerio 2.15 popped up complaining that it can't

QuoteJohnHellif you find a replacement for Kerio 2.1.5 and Windows 7, tell, please Speaking of application firewalls, Kerio 2.15 (the successor of Tiny FW) was fine but IMHO not the best. Jetico was free at that time, also light on resources and was able to detect code-injection as well. Another thing I didn't like about Kerio was the fact that it secretly called home even so 'check f

Eige

Quotepjpw2320What are your computer's specs Yogi? Nothing special. Win7 x64bit with an i5 processor. You can see the available RAM on the first screenshot. The OS is fine tuned to my like. Quotepjpw2320Yogi, it would appear from your screen shots that you experience no CPU or memory issues running Flash in Firefox. If you look at the graph of the CPU usage in the first screenshot, you can

@pjpw2320 The first imgage shows the CPU usage during a YouTube Flash clip play back with Firefox. The second image shows the active Flash plugin during a paused YouTube Flash clip play back with K-Meleon 74.

@pjpw2320 You don't see the flash plugin in the task manager because the clips you are watching are not Flash. They are HTML5 video clips. Search for a Flash-clip and you'll see the plugin in the task manager. As for CPU usage, be it Flash or HTML5, I don't see any difference on K-Meleon, Firefox or Opera (Presto). However I'm on a quite powerful machine.

QuoteVkaryl in K-M, attempts to login to my bank for instance gave me some sort of "insecure browser" error. An error code in case you received one, might have been more useful. Just a wild guess: Have you tried to change the UserAgent to Firefox and see if you still get the "unsecure browser error" warning?

I assume it's a bug, one I can live with though. Applies to both KM-74 & KM-75 If I delete a search engine (Finding Websites/Search Engines), it's gone there. However, if I want to add a search engine (Finding Websites/Web Search or URL Bar) the name of the deleted search engine is still there even so it can't work anymore. It's just irritating. Where are those entr

@ JamesD No need to thank me. I'm glad if I can help someway. Two considerations regarding pics for skin: - Your source files should always be transparent (preferable PNG). Your redo.png isn't transparent. - You shouldn't enlarge a pic. You'll always loose quality. Enlarging by 10%-20% generally can't be perceived by human eyes but higher rates can. The above con

QuoteJamesD I have loaded my personal skin in the new KM 75 format to a server for any who would like to look at the code. Grrrrrr. I'll stick to the old code as long as it will work. I'm afraid the new code will need a tutorial about how to comment out some items. QuoteJamesD It works, but I am not entirely satisfied with all the graphics. I find, cut, and paste, but I have not

QuoteJamesD Just to note, the Klassic images without magic pink are really bad. Can't confirm on Win7. I can't see no difference between magic pink BMP and transparent PNG. The below image was taken from KM-75b1 with transparent PNG on Win7.
