QuoteanDhMy daily job involves reading plenty of pdf files on web browser. No job involves opening PDF-files within the web browser. There is absolute no benefit in doing so, no matter which browser you use. Set your browser to open the files with your default reader. Chrome is also prone to plug-in based security holes. The fact that the browser doesn't crash but only a tab doesn

PrivacyBar 76x16 In toobars.cfg the default line has to be changed to: &Privacy Bar(76,16){ Edit: The privbar in the 6.6Kb ZIP-file is messed up. The newer 7.5kb ZIP-file should be ok. I don't know how to access and delete the messed up package. Maybe a mod, Guenter, can do it for me. Thanks in advance.

QuotendebordThe only problems with having a smaller sized privacy bar ... You mean privacy bars like the above or the default Phoenity with 64x13? However making bigger sized privacy bars with 16px height or bigger should be much easier than small sized ones since you don't have to fiddle with resizing the icons. BTW, what icon size (height) would fit you best?

Computer Lust Micro was a real-time operator and dedicated multi-user. His broad-band protocol made it easy for him to interface with numerous input/output devices, even if it meant time-sharing. One evening he arrived home just as the Sun was crashing, and had parked his Motorola 68040 in the main drive (he had missed the 5100 bus that morning), when he noticed an elegant piece of liveware

I hate software that automatically sets itself as default. I never used this option even with software which only offers the option to be set as default. Using W2K I never had to edit/add or change any MIME type in my browsers be it K-Meleon or Opera. All associations of MIME types I make are on the OS level and they apply to all applications making use of those MIME types.

Change the default setting and enable: Page Display Settings => Allow all frames to be resized As far as I can see K-Meleon renders the site fine, the same way Opera does.

QuoteDaveski17In fact I logged into a site with K-Meleon yesterday & it seemed to know my password. I may be wrong about this but I don't remember putting that particular password into K-Meleon. Cookies? QuoteDaveski17Is this cross-over of information common with Gecko engined browsers on the same hard-drive? Nope.

Bullshit at its best. Quotewe now know exactly who most of these people are: coders and hackers -- these people are hackers and developers who adore tweaking and customising. After testing briefly K-Meleon they at least know exactly who most of its users are. Isn't it ingenious? Wonder if they know about computing as much. I always thought developers and coders are developing and

Didn't know about the existence of this service till now. Does the macro need JavaScript enabled in order to work? If I'm visiting DownForEveryoneOrJustMe directly it does. Therefore my question. Please forgive my laziness for not testing myself

QuotezenbonesI checked and found that I did in fact have the NPSWF32.dll in my plugin folder . You mean plugins folder. What other .dll is in that folder? QuotezenbonesI'm still unable to view any FLash vids or Javascript and both are enabled. What exactly do you mean by viewing JavaScript? QuoteChristopher PooleThen there's Adobe Acrobat. It should be easy where if a website tries to force Acrobat to open in a browser window, some small setting programmers could make to have an option to **treat every PDF file like an EXE file** It wouldn't be easy at all to circumvent your local settings in such a way (never happened till now as far as I can remember) not even if the r

QuotendebordUsing online services is never my preference.* Basically I have the same attitude toward online services like you. However there are some exceptions like KeepVid e.g. or ImageShack. (I don't have to register, not even to allow cookies or JavaScript, no sensitive data gets passed) QuotendebordI think a macro would be nice as that would be in the tradition of KM, although sav

Quotendebord Using just the DLL in plugins, is there a way to download the flash SWF file instead of running it or in addition to running it? Tks. You mean the video.swf? Basically it should be possible. I never tried myself by using a download tool (or script/macros?) I only grab the link and pass it to an online service like KeepVid. So I have also the option to save the vid to MP4 which

QuoteDoon Again, even if the "cache website icons on disk" option is turned off KM will still write the file, which is definitely a bug. Albeit on W2k (K-M 1.5.3) I checked my IconCache.dat since my setting is not to cache website icons on disk. It has the the same MD5(=78a2a8b422736cbf665d6ef5469d7866) like that from a fresh install which never connected to the internet. So far noth

Quotesiria Yogi + Arrow: Just guessing, you mean you prefer 24px...? ;-) With the resolution my 17" monitor is set for (out of habit), I prefer 16px. Basically I could also raise the resolution to 1280x1024 Pixel on my old work whore machine as well and in this case I would have to use 24px. However 24px should be suitable for most users IMO.

@ zenbones Make sure NPSWF32.dll is located in K-Meleon's plugins folder. I have no AdobeFlash installed. I've just extracted from the AdobeFlash install package the above .DLL into K-Meleon's plugins folder.(did the same with Opera aswell) Works fine with YouTUbe flash videos (.swf) Just tested the BBC link you gave and it works fine as well: Maks sure that JavaScript

QuotejsnjReally depends on the user's screen resolution and skin choice. Agreed. IMHO screen resolution beeing the decisive factor. QuoteguenterMost extra skins I have found are 24pixel size. This may have to do with the fact that it is IMHO harder to create good 16pixel skins icons. Very true! QuoteIf a logo works at 16px, you've cracked it. - Opera's senior creative
