JohnHell, you have explained that so well, and I thank you. You are completely right. My frustration was simply that I have tried the Osprey site in every other current version of major browsers, and K-Meleon's current version is the only one that fails! SeaMonkey 2.40: works Pale Moon 26.3.3: works Firefox 47.0.1: works This seemed rather unusual to me, but folks here pointed out

Your points are well taken. I thought I might inspire some action about the bug, but it looks like I've been defeated! I suppose that I will simply need a different browser if I decide to buy an Osprey backpack. I know that none of the browsers are perfect, so I should be content with one that works most of the time. I guess I should stop writing so as not to irritate the group that is w

Thank you for the replies and explanations. Sorry that I am so ignorant. I know that coding is hardly ever perfect, and Gecko is beyond local control here. I applaud everyone's efforts. My only hope is that we will not shrug our shoulders in the face of fatal crashes. I wish I had a good suggestion for specifically what to do about this one, but alas, I am not that smart! Best wishes

Here is my example page. The code is not perfect but works perfectly in KM. What is the error that you are highlighting? You have also not explained why the validator's two statements are valid. I think, too, that KM developers need a more user-centered approach to accountability regarding their "packaged product". No ethical company would knowingly and intentionally dis

I agree with gordon451: KM's fault intolerance creates a problem for the user. I see that the Osprey page has complex code. I did not examine it in detail, but I do wonder if the W3C validator is also faulty. Examples are below. 1. "Start tag body seen but an element of the same type was already open": as far as I can tell, the page has only one "body" tag. 2. &q

Quoterodocop 1) try to update video driver - Intel built-in video is one of the reason of such errors. 2) What about this error in safemode with network support? 3) What if to run KM in compatibility mode with XP or Vista? 4) What about firewall and other networking stack interceptors (proxies, web-filters, etc.)? Comodo and Norton are known to produce such a type of errors. Compatibility mo

I tried Firemin, created a new profile for K-Meleon, and tried a few different settings for the memory threshold. None worked: the KM crash persisted. Mike

Thank you for clarifying. My screenshot was misleading. The crash occurred when navigating to the Osprey Web site. When I disabled my antivirus software, the KM crash still occurred. If anyone develops a solution to, or cause of, the problem, please let us know! Mike

QuoteYogi As for the K-Meleon page crashing you browser, as far as I can recall, you are the only one experiencing it. K-Meleon is based on the code of Firefox and uses the same scripting engine Firefox(ESR) does. 1. Others are experiencing the crash. JamesD: "I get a crash on the URL in first post." foliator: "actually never loaded and locked up both the browser and the O

Mine crashes. K-Meleon should handle poor JS more gracefully. I recommend fixing this bug. Mike

Creating an exception to the images setting seems to have no effect. I have KM set to show images always. I then set an exception for www.huffingtonpost.com to be denied, but KM still shows images at this site.

It's incredible how K-Meleon uses 24% of CPU even when it is not doing anything, right? Mike

This page (see hyperlink) fails in K-Meleon but succeeds in Firefox. In K-Meleon, the entire table is shifted off screen. If the source HTML file is saved and then loaded from the local computer, K-Meleon instantly crashes. Mike

I have not seen any sort of consumer-friendly user guide that introduces K-Meleon and explains the basics, preferences, accelerator configuration, etc. Is there one? Is a new one needed? Mike
