@ flyrtku lpoqz: what the heck are you saying? plain understandable English please! (I mean, does anyone understand what this guy is talking about?). Official NoScript extension at their site I've recently checked is now version 1.7.9. Several changes between the 1.7.8 and 1.7.9 releases. I'll use the procedure desga2 mentioned to manually update the NoScript addon for Kmeleon to

QuotecaktusSeems to me the 1.5's RC is pretty much it's own final release. this is not an accurate statement, caktus. an "RC" release is not an officially finalized product. there may be some bugs in the RC that will not show up in the final version.

Quoteguenter( IMHO the feature has very low priority OS 95 - Me are dying fast and have less than 1% market share at the moment ). Win95/98/ME OSes are dead...barely, guenter. at least in my computing world. OSes I frequently use are nowadays Win2k & above, including Vista. The computers I have now are faster and no longer have any 9x flavor of Windows. but at least it's nice to

Quotejk-I've also altered 1.7.7 to work with KMeleon 1.1.x Unzip into Kmeleon install directory: download thanks jk-. The NoScript 1.7.7 addon for K-meleon worked in both K-meleon 1.1.6 and 1.5.0 RC. Only thing missing from your alterations is the NoScript toolbar for K-meleon. I think desga2's version of the NoScript Extension for K-meleon can display a NoScript toolbar which

Running K-meleon 1.1.5 and/or 1.5 beta on my Vista laptop is okay as long as I do NOT have Adblock Plus for Kmeleon installed on Vista. Clicking on the red "ABP" button in K-meleon on Vista crashes the K-meleon browser. The problem does not happen in other versions of Windows (like Win2000 & XP) as I've confirmed this. Seems like Adblock Plus for K-meleon hates Vista. Exper

You can test your installation of Flash Player in your K-meleon web browser by going to this Adobe site: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ If the Flash Player picture shows up on that page, then Flash Player is working on your K-meleon browser.

K-MeleonCCF ME 0.09 Beta1 V4 seemed ok but V5 has been mentioned here: http://kmeleon.blogspot.com/2008/06/release-notes-minimized-chrome-faster.html I'm not sure why there was no K-meleonCCF ME 00.9 Beta1 V5 thread in this Kmeleon forum. Did Hao forget to make one?

QuoteEugen MezeiI use Win98SE wiht the unoff. SP2 and the (more faster) diskdefragmenter from Me. I do this on different desktops (beginning from 486-er to P3-850Mhz). I also own a laptop that does not accept Win98 (respectively it has not the needed drivers) on which I run Win95c. If installed carefully you can work with Win98SE without rebooting as long as a workday. So power it in the mornin

Quotedesga2K-Meleon NoScript Extension updated is now available: - Changelog: NosScript updated to last version 1.6.5. this is no longer the latest version. Latest NoScript version offered at their web site is now 1.6.8. looks like the NoScript Plugin for KM needs to be updated again.

This update does not work correctly. It rendered my Kmeleon 1.15 browser unusable and I could not run the Kmeleon program at all. I found out why. It overwrited the compreg.dat and xpti.dat files with empty "zero-byte" editions of the compreg.dat & xpti.dat files in the \Program Files\K-meleon\components\ folder. These 0-byte compreg.dat and xpti.dat files should NOT be included

QuoteWladimir PalantI just uploaded a development build for Adblock Plus that supports K-Meleon 1.5: http://adblockplus.org/development-builds/more-robust-k-meleon-support Unfortunately, that build crashes K-Meleon 1.1, I am still investigating this issue. However, in K-Meleon 1.5a1 everything seems to work fine. I hope you guys will try it out - I changed a lot and there might be bugs that I

Quotekko Km 1.5 is built on Gecko 1.8.1, which is the latest stable version of Gecko and which will still be the latest stable version of Gecko when km 1.5 final is released... (at least, that's our schedule) Preparations for Gecko 1.9 are in progress. so when will KM 1.5 reach beta (as in b1 or something close to it)?

QuoteD555Very unhappy about Gecko1.9 not so close for KM ... ((( you're deluded, D555. so what if Kmeleon isn't close to having Gecko 1.9! it'll be several months or even a year before that will actually happen. Don't "push the envelope" so to speak. gecko 1.9 will be implemented into Kmeleon, eventually. it just takes time and patience; the two intangible thi

QuoteSteveThere is a mfc71.dll Version 7.10.3077.0 in the AVG v7 Prog Dir. Is it safe to copy and use this? The other 2 mentioned are already in K-Meleon and also Acronis True Image 10, msvcr71.dll also bobs up in SuperAntispyWare, BartPE, Threatfire, Sun Java and Windows system32. They do get around, don't they? Well folks, I have MFC71.DLL file version 7.10.6041.0 from the Microsoft

Uh, the latest FULL version of K-meleon is 1.1, not 1.02, justme. If you install version 1.1, you will have to install the 1.12 update on top of KM 1.1. If I were you, I'd uninstall KM 1.02 completely, then delete the \Application Data\K-meleon\ folder. Then install a clean set of KM 1.1 and then install the KM 1.12 update.

Quotejustme(For example, Norton Utilities has a great WIPER built in that works with Win98, but won't work with anything higher. It also has a wonderful REG-EDIT utility that allows you to go in and really clean out the clutter and unwanted junk in your registry.) I wouldn't use any version of Norton Utilities as any Symantec/Norton softwares are resource hogs, even under Win9x syst

QuoteWladimir Palantnoel-pg2: I think the installation instruction mentions how you add a menu item. This cannot be done automatically, not with the way K-Meleon configures its menus. what installation instructions? from your site, Wladimir Palant? or from the Kmeleon site. I don't know if they apply to Kmeleon 1.1. btw - (going a little off topic) I tested the latest Adlbock Plus

Quote I have found various utilities, most of them proprietary apps, for old laptops, that are capable of putting the Win95/98 machine quickly into hibernation and restoring it back. However none of them works with this particular IBM desktop (Aptiva 2168 M70). I was able to succesfully install and setup Phdisk on my old Acer notebook when I installed Win98 and tested it there, but doing the sam

The wrong way of thinking was that the absence of a Hibernate tab or button indicated the motherboard or something would not support hibernation. The right way of thinking was that there was a simple little thing you could do and Surprise! there w

QuoteCarson Of course, with luck, someone else using Windows 95 will simply turn up right here with the solution! And it helps to know it can be done--it's just a matter of knowing what to do! Quote888 Yes, there are tons of confusing articles on the web, mainly because "hibernation" wasn't widely used before WinME or perhaps WinXP. or Windows 2000. The hibernate feature was built-in windows 2000, millennium, xp and vista if you had an ACPI-ready desktop or laptop and did not rely on any proprietary tools or special BIOS settings as long as ACPI support is enabled in

pretty interesting discussion about hibernation and win95. back then, only a few systems (mostly IBM Aptiva machines) had the hibernation feature ONLY if the BIOS supported the feature and a hibernation partition was created with a special utility. if the bios option isnt there, then forget about hibernation in those old machines. Phdisk doesnt work on IBM Aptiva machines because phdisk wa

Kmeleon 1.1 RC2 worked fine on the old Win95 SR2.5 machine (including the URL bar) and on my WinXP SP2 computer. Benoitren may need to update some W95 DLL files (or delete & recreate the KM profile) OR re-install Kmeleon 1.1 AND install the "Multi-user profiles" feature (even on a single user PC) to get the URL bar working correctly.
