Well, I hope they fix the spellchecker for the release candidate, otherwise I'm going to have to buy a dictionary LOL!

OK, thanks Guenter. I suppose there is no work-around to the problem then?

I have downloaded the beta KM & it looks great. I appear to be having problems with the spellchecker though. The dictionary is in the folder but I don't seem to have the plug-in to run the dictionary. I downloaded the dictionary from here.

That's very interesting. It's nice to see KM still going strong after a decade!

Is there a plug-in available for WOT in KM? Has anyone used WOT & how does it compare with McAfee's Site Advisor.

I've tried spoofing with everything, it just won't load in Hotmail.

I've considered doing that. I think I'll just wait for the stable release & see what happens then. I have Opera & I can open Hotmail & My MSN in that. I mask Opera as Firefox on MSN sites usually. For some strange reason that seems to work better than spoofing Internet Explorer! Microsoft have never wanted to make anything easy for non IE users. With Opera AND K-Meleon I jus

Where is the information stating IE 9 isn't going to be compatible with Vista? Seven & Vista are virtually the same kernel aren't they? Anyway, I didn't like IE 7, I don't like IE 8 & I'm pretty sure I won't like IE 9. If I buy a new laptop it will almost certainly have Seven. My desktop will soon have Ubuntu.

What is it with webpage widgets? Firefox/SeaMonkey has problems in My Yahoo! but not in My MSN & K-Meleon has problems with the mail widget in My MSN. It's unusual for KM to have problems like this in my experience. It works OK in Hotmail now. Maybe the Gecko 1.8.1.24 is having some conflict with some MSN gadgets/widgets? It seems fine in normal MSN pages however.

Quote4td8s just wondering Dave, what version of KM were you using when you experienced the Hotmail problem? I have only had a Hotmail account since Saturday & I'm using KM 1.5.4. It seems to be the mail widget on my My MSN page that is problematical. UA spoofing has no effect. It's fine in Hotmail though....you can't have everything I suppose...

'You must have seen the new PhoenityAura skins. 2 Auras are shipped with with 1.6as'. 1.6.a3's default skin is based on it. pref("kmeleon.general.skinsCurrent", "AuraAlpha(Large)");' Ermmm... no. I'm REALLY curious now though!

Quote4td8s not on my XP system! Hotmail seems to load fine (and barely superfast) in KM 1.5.4. slow computer perhaps, ay Davey? It's fine in Opera 10.50. & SRWare Iron (Vista Home Premium). Quote4td8stry a new KM user profile and see if KM loads Hotmail faster than your existing user profile. if that doesn't help, it could be something else that's causing hotmail not t

Quoteguenter 1.) Zuse did never immigrate to England. I must have been thinking of Colossus. Quoteguenter3.) It is still fashion in the of the South UK to do some Kraut bashing or at least some Frog baiting - so why should K-Meleon, a mostly European supported project get any good reviews. Ah, that explains it, I'm not from the South. I can't understand how they speak down

Quotepanzer Outdated? This guy probably lives in a castle, drinks tea (and not coffee) and dreams about the days when Great Britain was still a force to be reckoned with. Who is outdated now? Well, I prefer Lapsang Souchong to coffee but I don't live in a castle. It's worth pointing out that the English invented the world's first programmable electronic computer, the firs

I checked for an Apple update using the updater (I have it set to 'never auto update)'. I have it as a shortcut icon on my desktop. I also use SpywareBlaster & have that as a desktop icon as well. Both of these icons until today had a little coloured shield in front (& slightly to the right) of them (coloured red, green, blue & yellow). The same as the Security Centre shield

Since I have been using K-Meleon I have had Chambers Dictionary on the bookmarks bar. I prefer it to Websters & others & the 21st century dictionary, biographical dictionary & its thesaurus are very useful. The favicon however until today was the usual (Phoenity) generic blue square with an orange star. Today I clicked on the dictionary & the favicon has changed to a bright r

Speaking of KM's adblocker, I find the built in adblocker is good enough if you occasionally use the 'Kill Flash' button on the Privacy Bar. It seems to re-vitalise the K-Meleon's own adblocker. In fact I find that the Kill Flash button is so useful I have the Privacy Bar on the Menu Bar but only with about 4 buttons revealed when I am in Phoenity (Normal size). I much prefer

Quotendebord Daveski17, If you used the installer and went for the multi-user option, then K-Meleon put profile info into one of your windows sub-folders. If you went for the single-user option, then K-Meleon put profile info into your c:\program files\k-meleon\profiles (then random number generated folder). The latter can be saved, but you have to load up one of (disrupted's macro I th

Quotesiria QuoteDaveski17The reason that I asked is because sometimes uninstalling a browser from the Start Menu using its uninstaller clears the profile & you lose bookmarks, settings etc. Of course it does, and regardless whether from Start menu or otherwise. "Uninstall" always means throw everything away, DELETE EVERYTHING! So uninstalled programs only do what you tell them to.

Quotedesga2 QuoteDaveski17 ..., would you recommend a clean install when KM 1.6 is eventually released? This is NEEDED (more than recommended) to next 1.6 version because changed some prefs and old profiles won't worked with out an updated proccess. OK, thanks for the info desga2. I thought that would be the case. When I uninstall KM 1.5.4 (or later) to install KM 1.6 is it best to unins

QuoteYogi On major version changes I prefer a clean install. A general practice regarding most software I use. Major version changes are rather rare and the extra time for customization is something I consider to be worthwhile. This one was a minor version change and I did an install over the top. As expected everything went fine. Hi Yogi, would you recommend a clean install when KM 1.6 is
