Try if the popup works in a current Firefox? If not, perhaps ask on the FF-addon page, if anyone else has that prob. Looks like the author keeps updating the rules. You'll have to tell on which page of course, and which gecko version you use. Probably is in menu Help>About K-Meleon, or visit a useragent info site. Then again, it could also be one of the hundred hidden settings on about:

Came across this site, researching for my menuplus macro: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins It seems the single plugin settings work as white-black-list, overriding the default. QuoteMozillaStarting in Firefox 14, Flash is force-enabled to run out-of-process in a plugin-container process on Windows Vista and above, because of stability issues when OOPP i

Oh James, sorry but I'm so awfully slow, and time is running so incredibly FAST!! But you need really not wait for me, cannot help much anyway. (And I really see more and more a need to get the old UA function back. Just the last weeks read again in FF and other forums how users tend to get angry if important and perfectly fine functions are deleted for no reasons, if it just doesn't ma

Quotethomase13I can hardly believe the second RC is already out! RC2? flip back at the previous page, Dorian 16.Sep ;-) But still has a few severe probs, so I consider it rather RC3 PS: you may just try to copy your whole profile folder. Except the skin settings, those are in the program folder (but I think they work from the profile folder too, avoids writing probs)

Are you aware that you can just as well click the search button, if nothing is currently selected? Then it pops up the search bar. Or type your search into the URL-bar and then click the search button, just as you would type it into a search bar. And when right-clicking the button, you can first choose another search engine. If before there was any text on the page selected, clicking the bu

QuotenarumanDorian, i added new page in km Wiki about Jsbridge Sounds promising, but too confusing for me yet without complete examples. Please add a tiny complete kmm, perhaps just for setting a pref? And wondering in which version this kplugin can be used exactly? Sure not for replacing the one in 1.6? How about 1.7,1.8, or depends on gecko version? Thank you for updating wikipedia too,

Question about macro bug in KM1.6/1.7: Since 1.6 it's not possible anymore to execute a js-code and in next line toggle off again one of the js-prefs (e.g. capability). Because JS is already off again before the script execution has even started, the toggle-line is executed BEFORE its previous line with the code-injecting! So far I don't know any other workaround but to insert an anno

It's probably exactly the people who hate "Australis", the "modernized" Opera and the other "trendy" main browsers who drop them and go looking for alternatives - like KM With those who do like those stupid fashions KM could never compete anyway, being only a bad copy and soon dead. But I don't expect KM to go down that way anyway Personally I refuse t

The translation guru is of course guenter (He's sure been sitting all day long waiting for my reply now and holding himself back, argh ;-) For the other languages natives like desga, rodocop, Dorian himself.... Of course I can do the german version too, and yes the Bing-german in your post is horrible, but the prob is I have strong doubts about that whole "default KM" thing!

Ah, so it DOES work - thanks for the info! Really glad about it. Merely toggling FF-suffix just doesn't suffice for me, and probably many others too. For example I want also a mobile UA (operamini), which on some bloated sites helps to a much better readability and speed, and sometimes I want to fake system or language, or experiment which setting improves a bad page layout, even occasio

Is there still no UA-possibility of any kind even in the final version? If so, why? Does the old macro not work anymore?

Like you, I've also started with Klassic, then also changed background and added a few buttons, and it's to this day my only daily skin Then added yet more buttons and lots of descriptions in the toolbars.cfg and posted it here as classiria skin. Am planning to update it soon to KM74, by comparing the commands in the default skin. So far am still on the same old monitor, but suppose i

Oh, sounds like a good time for wishes now? For example one of the things I've been wishing a long time is a possibility to include toolbar.cfg-snippets with a macro. Probably rather easy, could be similar to the anyname.js-files in default-prefs-folder, there could be a collection of anyname.cfg-s in the skins default folder. Creating single buttons with a macro is no prob, but f

Hi Charlie, RC IS beyong RC-state - in Final state since yesterday night Look at the end of the RC2 thread. But if you still want to stick with 1.6beta, perhaps parallel to KM74 for awhile, then *please* install 1.6beta-26 by JamesD instead. That is far ahead of Beta2, which really has too many bugs, and it's just not necessary. Just look in rodocops sig-line to find the current link t

Ah... thanks for the info! And can't believe how user-hostile FF-developers have become :-( Just recently read about them for no reason removing the whole capabilities-system (which they are forced to restore again because it was a no-go for corporate IT admins), and now this. Such important functions removed for ridiculous pseudo-reasons - or I rather suspect, they remove all functions th

That exists. I'm sure having read about it some weeks or months ago, but of course can't find it again, and neither can I look it up in the browser directly since my system is too old. Newer KM versions don't ven start with it. Anyway, one of the developers (adodupan??) had posted a brandnew automatic UA-switcher, and the trick was you have to go to the buggy website, then toggl

QuoteDAC324Seems that the entire K-Meleon pages need an overhaul. Most of them are from before 2005 thus more than nine years old. Yes, but that's not going to change soon. No one here who can do it, either lacking time or knowledge. I just wish at least the entry page to the manual could have a big warning that it's obsolete or outdated, although parts of it may still be valid. Qu

Just a suggestion to add those crucial basics on the README-page: - In K-Meleon buttons with additional menu are *not* marked with little arrows at the side. They open by right-click. Or : - In K-Meleon all buttons can have 2 functions: a command on left-click and an additional menu on right-click. Those buttons are *not* marked with little arrows at the side. You can easily add own menus

Am afraid there aren't many possibilities, if you always want the best version of different sites that treat different browsers differently, then you'll have to send them different fake name tags (what a sentence, uff). As guenter explained above, for now you can only switch user agents. Switching isn't hard, isn't there even a new automatic per-site switcher build into KM7

But the FAQ-probs usually were not about ad-blocking, but not getting access. That's a whole different thing and won't help those probs. But the newer gecko engine will help a LOT :-) But since we're talking now about our (still!! ) good-old-KM-adblock, I'd like to take the opportunity to advertise ;-) a general trick, that's probably not yet widely known among users.

QuoteKMfan2 QuoteDorian One setting: general.useragent.compatMode.firefox I'm getting remorse now to have set this to true. Someone made a macro for it, I'll add it in the final release. OK. So, making this setting on KM 74 beta 3 makes scrolling working on that site, but the interface is like the one i do not like. How can i keep the old interface (the one that has left bar option

There are about a hundred more possible settings, also hidden ones  And plugins and other stuff etc. And of course also the UserAgent Name, which you could easily exchange yourself. But obviously your prob is not so much with beta3, but really with RC! And it's likely that developers don't even notice this thread because of the beta3-title, which is not going to fix AGAIN si

Ah - of course!! Good old KM-Adblock, am using it all the time, but completely forgot about it now, unbelievable... Okay, am still curious if the macros are working, but apart from that in this specific case adblock.css would suffice completely Just a line more to add to restrict it to yahoo domain.

Have unzipped it, and sounds like the main part for the modern yahoo version is 'just' some css code (hard work of course to first create that code). I've been wondering for some time if macros are still working in KM74, and lately reading they may "partly" work currently, and the future unsure. @Guenter, would you mind testing Soni's code with my Styleon or Sty

Or perhaps just different user settings?? Different things blocked? Other plugins? Is the profile the same? The default settings perhaps different? Can't try it myself, but would be surprised if there are such fundamental differences. Then again, Dorian wrote RC2 contains some testing code for addon-compatibility, but for the final version it would be removed again. What do you mean

I only know that you get that FAR more often than I. Didn't get that at all until a few months ago. Only the last days it has increased a lot, but so far worked instantly again at second attempt. Not the slightest idea why that difference, it can't have much to do with the network since it's a message from the server itself? Mystery...
