Oh man, as usual, after way too many hours of struggling and searching and experimenting and a couple more gray hairs, but finally got that stupid button to stay pressed!!! The syntax errors were in this line, 4x " and a . were missing: pluginmsg(toolbars,CheckButton,&Privacy Bar,macros(pref_ToggleObjects),(getpref... Attention, there are 3 toggle states now, two of which look the

Ahh... just one day too early for my styles macro!! Only 95% finished at the moment... Okay, I suppose line 4 should be deleted, because the comment is already closed after line 1 Try perhaps this for line 2: * { color: Black !important ; background-color: Window !important; font-weight: bold !important; } Tip: Add those two lines, so the search/highlight-button keeps working: .km_hi

Uhm, with macros I'm not sure of anything.... just experimenting... This is the part in main.kmm that I took as template: # Toolbar Integration _pref_SyncButtons{ $__c="CheckButton"; $__m=",macros(pref_Toggle"; # Privacy Bar (make sure the toolbar name is correct): $__toolbar="&Privacy Bar"; pluginmsg(toolbars,$__c,$__toolbar.$__m."Animation),&

Sorry off-topic, just curious: Why do still some people use old versions, I suppose there's a reason for it, but can't guess?

Oops... thanks! That's exactly that kind of tiny little syntax errors that I keep overlooking So now I inserted the "2" and the "}" and restarted, but still no change in button state... Must be something more missing just what?? Could it be something with the toggle-option numbers...?

GREAT, thanks for the info!! Not that personally I'd need it anytime soon, but one never knows, and at any rate good to know KM is future-safe! ;-)

And again I learned something too, always assumed one had to reload a page after switching off js. But obviously not necessary (Wegen der Bilder, dachte nur, weil die andern da irgendwie was zu sehen schienen ;-)

LOL! *grins* Ich seh ja komischerweise nur die Reklamebanner, möcht ja mal wissen, welche meiner Paranoia-Einstellungen da jetzt wieder schuld ist *grübel* Ah you're right, it starts dawning on me... there was recently also such a case that an image context-menu was switched off by js, although this was forbidden in the Prefs :-/ This thread in bug-forum: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/for

Oh hey.... You mean the context menu is just disabled?? But that can be prohibited in KM, F2... javascript... at the bottom...

Thanks, but sorry no, it's different images on hot and cold bar ;-) Perhaps I should clarify, especially that gray background on "pressed" state is also missing...

Ohne Garantie, bin kein Experte, aber glaub das ist von der Autoren meistens per Javascript verboten. Also versuch es evt. mal OHNE?

Options like bold or italic in forums just need javascript enabled, to show the buttons. That's all! In all browsers. And if someone hates javascript, it's still possible to type those styles manually, or use the forum macro. As for spellcheckers, I don't know any forum that offers this, guess it's usually a browser add-on In Firefox perhaps enabled by default, no idea, bu

WHOW - it WORKS!! Thank you! :-)) Tried it with youtube, object permissions set to 2 (=block), and in fact no video there, with or without javascript and flashblock. If javascript is on, flashblock produces the placeholders as usual, but when clicking it the placeholder simply vanishes, as if javascript were off. Of course that "javascriptless flash-object-blocker" would need a be

QuotemelonheadSo,.... the main question I really wanted to ask is why can't K-Meleon do this itself like all the other browsers? Well, can't remember whether it worked for me or not, but sure agree that a program shouldn't need fiddling to be set as default for its filetypes. Certainly not automatic, sure, but as a user option, as offered in KM. (Just as a sidenote, I too love

Oh man, I'm sorry for you :-( I've hardly ever any crashes anymore, on 98se, and even years ago when that one link froze it yet (and has miraculously cured itself somehow), it was the only page ever. As far as I remember, hmm.... But there IS a history search: Type-as-you-find kind. Just open history and start typing anything (What I learned recently, since guess jsnj told me that

Funny - works perfect for me. That is, as long as javascript is OFF If it's on: Nothing. (The one with the five white ladies and two black, UA default KM). The thumbnails are funny too: Since yesterday I've set my user css to give hover links a yellow background, and those thumbnails turn completely yellow when hovering over them  (unlike other linked pics)

QuotepepAnyway the problem is sometimes when activating a tab with a left click what you get is to close the tab just like if you middle-clicked it Happened to me only when I had tab-close-buttons enabled, and accidentally clicked too close to one. Otherwise KM never closed a tab just when left-clicking it ONCE. Anyone else...??? You don't happen to accidentally have double-clicked, or

Just realized that pages that aren't loaded completely (e.g. not all images) can't be saved "as is", unless the browser is temporarily set to OFFLINE! Oops... Otherwise, when saving a page, the download of all the missing items will start "secretly" in the background, which could be an unpleasant surprise if someone doesn't realize this, and pays per data size

Boy... :s QuotepepWhen you open a new tab (clicking a link) a right click on the new tab is supposed to just take it to foreground (active tab) No seriously, can't imagine that... So perhaps this might be where you got something wrong: To take a tab to the foreground, just left click it, quite normally! Perhaps you confused it with right-clicking on a LINK, not a tab....? And take

KM of course, what else, this is a KM forum After digging deep into old stuff I found a version 0.8 with a folder "myskin" (just an own backimage), so am sure I actually used it at the time already. From what I remember, somehow my IE had gotten buggy after a system update or such, and I needed something better. What I just LOVED about KM was it's speed, especially when starting

I think the solution is in what Guenter wrote. He also explained how to find those global system plugins and settings that are used by lots of programs commonly: QuoteguenterYour plugin and another (Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant) came with Service Pack 1 for the .NET-Framework 3.5. (Can come also with Framework 4?). Both plugins have had security bugs. And both were on Mozilla blocklist.

The path can also be customized, in Preferences (F2)/Network/Cache Something that took me years to notice (because this was different in IE): To surf in the cache, one must explicitely tell this the browser: File/Work Offline!! Unfortunately, if in offline mode some page isn't cached, KM won't tell this, it only reports something general like "page not found", making i

PS, since I _finally_ found it :-P (still want if for my stylesheet samples): The HIGHLIGHT button in the K-Meleon "Find in page" toolbar usually marks all hits on a page simultaneously, with a yellow background. Problem is, with a user stylesheet that has set an "important" background-color for ALL page elements, the hilight button seems to stop working. Solution: to cu

There's also the sidebar to scroll much quicker than with the mouse middle button, but perhaps I read you wrong. Anyway, changing your global system settings for the colors sure is the best solution in this case. Good luck to you too

Oh, this highlight-color would be quite useful too for a macro-variation I'm currently researching for like crazy, for temporary stylesheets in new toolbar... So I just looked this up too Must admit am rather clueless, and so far no luck for the automatic highlighting (hightlight-button), but at least for "Find next" found two solutions: ---------------------------------------

Oh, that site really still crashes?! LOL! And I had thought anything had been fixed, anywhere. The funny thing is, this was on my very same computer here, just two years ago. Of course I fiddled a lot with the system meanwhile and downloaded windows updates and other stuff, so something of it must have been the "cure" ;-) But still, other browsers didn't crash at that time, despite
