No it is the Forum (or Source Forge). It is as slow the last 1.5 days as it was not anymore for ages. It seems to have much traffic. Could be also Internet in US on a Week End. This is the only page located in the US that I visit often. You do not have to reinstall the browser often. If You suspect corruption create a new profile and check whether that behaves better. Profiles can get corru

@JamesD - I found the other post also and tried to answer in short sentences so that the translation scripts have an better chance. Hope it helps. p. s. Possibly Your script does not have the privileges - we will see. Guess we should create a Japanese about:config because we need one

Take a k-meleon.exe from a 1.1 install. Rename it to k-meleon1.1.exe. Copy k-meleon1.1.exe to 1.5 installation directory. Start k-meleon1.1exe and use old Preferences dialog to write values Alternative: type about:config into URL, go there, look for Cache and change Cache values. p. s. 1.5 dialog will be repaired some day

@JamesD - it can be done via about:config. But it is easier if You rename a 1.1 K-Meleon.exe drop it in the 1.5 directory and start it and set it via 1.1 Preference interface - That is how lazy me set some things instead of using about:config kko is AFAIassume working on the next extended prefs which probably include interfaces for the GUI dialogs scarificed for further enhencements in XUL

Needs a restart. If You use the loader shut it down for a moment. Shut down K-Meleon and start it again. p. s. Did You use the automatically installable k-meleon skins from the extension page? If not check that the skins are installed in the same way as the default skin.

@kko - sorry for the missundestanding & I have updated my strings because I go to Yahoo - I have IE 7.0, Firefox 2.0.0.8, SeaMonkey and and Netscape 9.0 but no Opera. Sometimes I do not get to see the ok page - do You possibly meen that? @all - I favor minimum of code with maximum of effect. The rest & minority wishes must be cared for by the installable extensions. That is IMHO what t

Terry, this is a multi national Forum. Nobody can expect that everthing is understood as it was intended to be understood. I have configured 0.6.5 and 0.7.1 because I use K-Meleon that long. I can zip my plugins directory and post it via Rapidshare or send it by mail. I just had to copy the plugins over from a newer K-Meleon when 0.7 failed at the first try. You can try with them. Fla

go to Adavanced Preferences > Browsing Options > Set as default Browser & click or go to 1.5 folder and start setdefault.exe. p. s. a setdefault.exe chooses by default the k-meleon in its own directory. You can copy a setdefault from another location/install if You ever get a test version that has none

AFAIK You are right. The loader will make that an instance of the K-Meleon to which it belongs is pre-loaded. So it prevents start of another k-meleon before it is shut down. AFAIK that is all. Since I use more than one K-Meleon on a regular basis I will not use the loader

If the attachments are from a stranger that cannot be asked they are potentially dangerous or spam. This random sending of dangerous and spam attachments is go

Hi zahra, If You have the right user agent string You are automatically offered to use Yahoo beta mail. Warning - Yahoo beta mail is colorful and slow Activate: View > Toolbars > Privacy Bar: right click on Privacy Bar > "User Agent", click Custom and insert: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8pre) Gecko/20071015 Firefox/2.0.0.7 Navigator/9.0

AFAIK No manpower or plans for that. p. s. It is IMHO more than changing the GRE. Firefox 3 building uses another compiler. The change would also include opting for Toolkit - see SeaMonkey 2.x test builds and comments on that. K-Meleon is based on the SeaMonkey branch. It would also leave behind all K-Meleon users that run Windows95/98/ME. You are possibly right about more speed.

You are right K-Meleon can use Java Applets and other Java programs A Gecko browser is a Gecko browser It has been tested that K-Meleon can use Netscape type plugins. You best install Sun's Java Virtual Machine version for Netscape/Firefox/SeaMonkey/Opera/Safari... The JVM is automatically detected and used by K-Meleon. p. s. Only MS Internet Explorer uses ActiveX and not Nets

@Jeffrey Needle; The Roboform Extension is for current official K-Meleon 1.1 and 1.12 version and Portable K-Meleon based on that version - this includes recent inofficial update. The Roboform Adapter Extension is not for M-Meleon 1.02 or prior versions or Portable Versions based on these. Please update to 1.1/1.2 prior to installing the extension unless You are able to adapt the macros Yourse

I quite agree with kko - IMHO it is not sensible to reinstall OS. Older Windows systems need an update of certain components before they can use certain features of K-Meleon without flaws. Some older K-Meleon had this info in their default start page. If I remember correctly COMCTL32.dll is one of the files that must be updated. p. s. Since quite some time MS JVM is not anymore installed b

The program is integrated into Explporer Menu on my PC, it can be set that way. Now I just point unto a dll or exe in my file manager and choose "Analyse File with FileAlyzer". There I chose the Tab Import/Export Table. It would be tedious to compare the different COMCTL32.dll. Mine has 40 exports starting with "Imagelist_". IMHO it is our candidate. The other dll do not

You can use FileAlyzer from Safer Networks (Spybot S&D is their most known product) to have a look at the imports in favorites.dll: COMCTL32.dll, KERNEL32.dll, USER32.dll, GDI32.dll, ADVAPI32.dll, SHELL32.dll, MSVCRT71.dll and MSVCP71.dll. That is it. COMCTL32.dll must be updated the old K-Meleon manuals and FAQs say ( maybe transfer the one from one PC to the other or get alternatives fro
