Off Topic Quotehermes While additionally using a set handmade rules for ABP, Noscript, Silentblock + (of course) the HOSTS file. In addition running proxomitron. Sometimes I use Jondo and Tor. Wow, that's a lot! Speaking of Proxomitron, does SSL filtering (with workarounds) work fine for you?? Quotehermes Not one of the existing browsers (not engines, namely browsers) does not al

QuotehermesBut just ignoring such useful things as filters (especially in a modern network) seems to me a very unwise decision. - Not related to K-Meleon (whatever it's based on) - Iframe irony: Adblock Plus is probably the reason Firefox and Chrome are such memory hogs The above article is from 2014. So ABP might have improved since. This one is more recent: AdBlock is using lots of me

@Pale as the Moon Wonder what kind of games are you playing here? One of your first posts you made after your apparition on these forums: QuoteWith all due respect, I don't think keeping support for Windows XP (and Vista, for that matter) is a responsible decision nowadays. Microsoft dropped support for this OS in 2014 and it hasn't received any security updates ever since. Windows

QuoteDorian I would like to see this becoming kmeleon 77(?) if that can keep it alive. So it's official, so to speak. K-Meleon 76 RC2 was the last build based on Gecko.

@joekmeleon I've downloaded K-Meleon 75.1 portable for testing on Win7. It opens previously saved web pages fine. No crash. For whatever reason, something at your end got messed up. You can convince yourself by making a fresh portable install of K-Meleon 75.1 for testing. Off topic, not related: Generally it's best practice to always download the last stable release of a soft

No crash here with the official build of K-Meleon 76RC2 on Win7, using the built-in options for saving web pages. What branch of K-Meleon are you using? Any extension for saving web pages?

@Voltaire Related thread. However, my personal approach is this. It's not perfect as nothing is but works for all browsers without touching them.

Quoteguenter But IMHO the final should use the old introduced brandname if it is ok to Dorian and roytam1. Hi Guenter, du you know something we don't? Has Dorian resigned? In case he did, it would be fair to let us know. Did he told you that he decided to move to the Goanna engine? In case he didn't none of the two, your above statement sounds weird to say the least... QuoteZvonko Who or what changes such a setting--or another setting--somewhere in the background and causes such problems? Nobody, nothing. As mentioned by Rodocop and as you could see on your own installs, the default value is true. QuoteZvonko And: On my other computer the value is set to true, an there are no Yotube problems... As you have noticed the default value works with YT on your oth

Is there a comprehensive up to date Wiki for Goanna's prefs available in "about:config"? Does Goanna have hidden prefs not documented?

Quoteroytam1 Please define "users". novice users and advanced users may have different concerns. Agreed. BTW, how would you define an advanced users? It's not a rhetorical question and I mean it. Convenience, security and privacy don't really work together. By trying to make a compromise between them, one may end up with the least common denominator...

@Siria QuoteGeorge_Hall Download NoScript 2.9.14 https://addons.cdn.mozilla.net/user-media/addons/722/noscript_security_suite-2.9.0.14-fx+fn+sm.xpi and rename it to {73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232}.xpi Then copy it to the extensions folder. Laut andere User funzt es mit KM 76RC2. Pesönlich habe es nicht getestet da es mich nicht interessiert. @Trisha Ich möchte dir nicht zu

I have flashblock disabled myself because it interferes with html5 videos (sound but no video). However flashblock shouldn't give the error message mentioned by the thread opener.

YouTube works fine in K-Meleon. Otherwise we would witness a myriad of complains here in the forum. Would you mind disclosing the link for the video that doesn't play so one can check?

@JohnHell I didn't knew myself what those permissions are exactly good for. For someone (like me) who was used to Opera Presto (where you could make per-site permissions regardless of the global status) Mozilla's permissions are quite tricky. However, for some reason I always preferred to toggle and to block annoying connections with a third party tool.

Can't confirm. Taskbar autohide works fine here with K-Meleon's title bar disabled. Tested with KM 76RC on Win7 x64.

I've never used "Permissions" before, tested now with KM 76RC2 now and can confirm your problem. As far as I can see global settings if set to block are overwriting the "allow" setting in "Permissions".

I'm not aware of a restart button in K-Meleon official builds. The stop button is for stopping page load.

Well, I tested before and did a test now before answering to your reply. Same result, as soon as I change my UA from default to a newer Firefox one, the window with the "DownloadZIP" shows up. Tested with KM76RC on Win7. Of course, scripting and cookies have to be enabled.

- Speaking of offtopic in offtopic and Russian software - IMHO, the most comprehensive TaskManager I'm using since many years: TaskInfo from Igor Arsenin (free for personal use, system information for NT 4.0, 2000, WinXP 32 and 64 bit, Vista 32 and 64 bit, Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit).

Millions of devices at high risk because of Intel's backdoor planted into their chips. Kudos to Mark Ermolov and Maxim Goryachy who discoverd the issue and addressed it to Intel. I assume that some people at the headquarters of a three-letter agency and some of Intel's headquarters are very annoyed now because of those two researchers. Now Intel can't downplay the facts as

We can't predict the future. However, K-Meleon is based on Firefox ESR. Starting with version 59 (March 2018), Firefox ESR won't support XP and Vista anymore.

I dubblechecked now to be sure. I thought that what's between the brackets refers to the OS. This applied to Opera Presto and AppleWebkit but doesn't apply to Gecko and Trident. Sorry to all of you, I have to admit that I was wrong!
