guenter and siria covered pretty much everything ... just wanted to add that with the K-Meleon Extensions Manager (install/uninstall extensions) you should find it very easy to add plugins/extensions ... including Spell Check.

disrupted ... glad you posted that about that dll site. Yes, they are not bad and they provide a nice service. I don't go there very often but through the years I have downloaded dlls from them and the downloads have always been OK ... this was the first time (to my knowledge) that I downloaded a "problem" dll from them. I'm glad they are there ... I've had a few dlls tha

disrupted ... yes, you found the exact box I now see on that computer in Swedish, that is the wording. However, I was not aware of any problem when installing the newer KernelEx. After reinstalling the backup, I uninstalled the older KernelEx version and installed the newer (latest) version. I was not aware of any problems with the install ... everything went as normal and something just went a l

I have just discovered something on one of my computer notebooks ... I thought it "might" be in some way be related to KernelEx. I posted at that forum yesterday and so far have not had any replies so I guess no one has had this happen on their notebook. I don't think it's connected to K-Meleon but I'm posting here to see if anyone has discovered this on their machine and

Thanks again disrupted for the people who want a lighthouse going clockwise. So now there are two lighthouse throbber downloads ... one for anti-clockwise and one for clockwise rotation? ... I see that you have "ccw" in the latest download ... does that stand for "counterclockwise" ... I didn't load it since I like the first download you did as it is anti-clockwise. Just

... actually there seems to be no standard ... some have lights going clockwise and some go counterclockwise (anti-clockwise). Sort of like horse racing ... in the US the races are counterclockwise and many other parts of the world the races are clockwise. I think in Austraila many lighthouses are clockwise but not all. Some stuff from Google ... Mull of Galloway Lighthouse Webcam Nightim

disrupted ... just got back on the computer and to the forum ... I didn't expect anything so soon. That lighthouse is fantastic, very real looking ... thank you so much ... the white light looks really good going around, as you said the white light is better. I don't know how you were able to do it but you did, you even got the little house or building connected to the lighthouse into t

thanks disrupted for the offer ... here's the lighthouse I have in mind ... the famous one near or around York, Maine ... Cape Neddick Lighthouse: http://www.lighthouse.cc/capeneddick/ ... I like the whole look (house and lighthouse) but just the lighthouse is what I had in mind for use as a throbber, sitting on a stone base or something ... not much room for anything else in that thr

I have to agree with siria ... every time I get my download to the right folder it is either already finished, almost finished or if it's really a large download ... it has started. I really like this about KM ... I am using KM 1.5.4 and Win 98SE (updated to 2010) ... so maybe MS started fooling around with later OS's.

Just thought I'd post this link to MDGx's web site. He is involved with the MSFN site as a moderator but has just about everything for any Windows OS at his site ... lot's of "unofficial" stuff that he and others have made and improved on ... down to Win 98 and Win 95. Might be a few people here that never heard of MDGx. Great guy for having that site ... many things in o

As of yet I have never had any luck getting any Yahoo video to download using Direct Download, Keep Tube or Grab n Run. Can someone verify for me that they can download a video from Youtube using one of the three ... which is the easiest to work with? ... I just discovered there was a newer version of YTS ... I had v1.7 ... I have installed v1.9 ... Grab N Run freezes up my computer as it did

I looked through this forum before and also checked on Google for a very real looking lighthouse throbber. I found one or two but they weren't too real looking. I thought I remembered Netscape once having a real looking type lighthouse with the light going around. I can't find any trace of it on Google ... I'm not sure if Netscape had that lighthouse throbber but I seem to remember

disrupted ... thanks again for all the info. I tried twice to move the icons but I must be missing a step somewhere. The lock icons stay the same. I will play around with it more later on and get it figured out. At least I have the steps and I know where the icons are located. thanks ... ... OK, I had more time today and finally got everything figured out. I was missing a couple steps. Got the

SoerenB ... OK, I did update KEM from v5.5 to v5.9 in the last 2 days. I used the version for win 9x when I saw there was a newer one available. Here I thought it was a "miracle" ... everything has an explanation! Happy to see the links. ...

Today was the first time I had major problems using the newer KM v1.6 ... I'm not thinking it's anything wrong with KM v1.6 but maybe more the fact that I'm using it with Windows 98SE. I went to these two site to check my Java version and they shut down K-Meleon. Eventually my whole computer froze and I had to shut down the hard way ... had an illegal box that would not go away. I&

There's a new version of KernelEx out ... Sep 21st. Several people have posted that it seems to be very stable. Just had to drop a note here...this is shaping up to be one of the most stable releases yet. Several freaky problems I was having are vanished. Kudos to Xeno and Tihiy. Thanks guys.... -------------------- I agree it's an excellent relase - very stable and no probl

disrupted ... thanks for the links to the security lock icons and for mentioning about ResHacker. I downloaded a copy. I have a question, I like the lock icons in KM v1.5.4 ... Can I move or bring those icons into KM v1.6 ? ... how complicated would that be? ... I did a search for the security lock icons (*.ico) in both the KM 1.5.4 and KM 1.6 folders. I didn't find them in either folder.

I must be going a little "loony" ... I posted a few days ago that it would be nice to have a KM Extensions link in the Help button area for v1.6 like v1.5.4 ... Extensions Centre Search Extensions I didn't see those two links before when I posted but today I am seeing both links under the Help button. I have no idea where they came from but they are there now in my KM v1.

snuz2 ... in my case, I found that I had to keep both KM versions separate. I went into Preferences and made the KM version that I want to use, the default KM browser. I posted these steps I did in another post just a few minutes ago ... I will put that info here also ... maybe it will be of some help. ... yes, the two KM versions seem to have to be kept separate ... this is what I did for now

... yes, the two KM versions seem to have to be kept seperate ... this is what I did for now while I still test the KM v1.6 preBeta version. In my Program Files folder v1.5.4 is labeled "K-Meleon" (folder) and v1.6 is labeled "K-Meleon preBeta" (folder) ... The KM v1.6 preBeta link that siria provided had the KM preBeta folder ready to go after it was opened or unzipped, so I

Just made a great discovery ... the new version of SpywareBlaster (v4.4) now has support for the K-Meleon browser. Was doing an update and noticed the little green dragon at the bottom. It is a free program ... SpywareBlaster Prevent the installation of spyware and other potentially unwanted software! Simple, effective, trusted. SpywareBlaster works on Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, Vista

disrupted ... nice looking icon. I'm not sure what I am seeing. Is this what I should be seeing on my computer? ... or is this a sample of a newer security lock icon? Definitely can see locked and unlocked with that version.

siria ... yes, I had another message posted and was told about the "open - closed" security lock looking almost the same. I can see a fine line and then the lock color will change also. Thanks for explaining about the KM skins between different KM versions. So the newer KM v1.6 will be faster with javascript. I have to have that unblocked for some web sites. I don't have too

desga2 ... I can see that fine line for lock and unlock, didn't notice it before. After I posted the last message I then noticed that the color will turn yellow to match the URL bar for a https site. I didn't notice the color change before.

desga2 ... just started using the 1.6 preBet version in the last few days with Win 98SE. I think there was a KM Extentsions link in the Help button in v1.5.4 (not 100% sure but I think there was) ... using your newer version right now. A link straight to the KM Extention Page would be handy. Also, I posted in the KM Bug thread a question for you about the "security lock", in the right

siria ... I am back on the internet with KM v1.6 ... I switched from the Klassic skin to the AuraAlpha skin. Everything looks fine to me at the Google site. As I mentioned earlier, I have "The Proxomitron" also installed on my machine. With the current Sidki filter set (from last year) my Google page is dark blue, which I like. It can also be a gray color, those two settings are in the

Over this past weekend I was able to get the 1.6 desga's cp4-version working on my Win 98SE notebook. I have been posting information and getting help in the General thread. I have a question about the desga's cp4-version. I am having no problems so far and everything seems to be working 100%. The only thing is that I noticed the "security lock" in the lower right corner is al
