Thanks for posting this solution, I had the same problem on my new Vista-32bit laptop after a couple of days of use - the rightclick menu on links was missing its usual opions and I couldn't open any links in new tabs - very irritating, rendered K-Meleon unusable. I found that disabling mouse gestures solved this (once I had closed kmeleon and ended the process).

If I type something into the address bar and press it is queried with Google. Is there some way I could search wikipedia by pressing and Gimages by pressing etc? I tried going through Tools > Web Search - Configure, but I could not find anything about searching using keyboard shortcuts.
