Quotegordon451a "standard" setup listing, which can then be used as a template for setting up alternative profiles. Uh... just to make sure: but you do know how alternative profiles are set up normally? Without any editing? Dou you already use multiple profiles? The tinkering with folders and files is only for advanced customizing, if a user knows what he's doing, not for se

One little thing, about profile folder names. I have a feeling this is misunderstood by some, who don't regularly use different profiles: There is a folder KM/(browser)/defaults/profile. This is not a "working" profile, only a template folder that is copied whenever a new profile is created. The collection of working user profiles however, whose folder pops up automatically

Guess it's not a gecko thing, but a native KM feature, since the pref name starts with "kmeleon". Meanwhile I've remembered that I did exactly what I suggested earlier (macro toggles pref, then saves) with the SaveToFolder-macro. But I always had trouble with it, glitches, not sure why anymore, but think that auto-save-pref could not be toggled back until next page load. I

Oops... looks like the other help links are moved inside this omni.ja thing! At least a file search locates "faq" inside there. But to my surprise, in 74gre31 my 7z cannot open it anymore??! In 74.0 it still worked, and looks like there those missing help options are inside an "about.xhtml" They are now all "<!ENTITY" elements. (incl. the link to "wiki/

And if you click outside the text input area, and then just type, e.g. "bug"?

Locale? Ah that reminds me again of the missing locale bug in english (only portable?) version, as long the user never clicked on "english" in the pref sheets... who knows... Michael, do the Help>Welcome page appear for you?

Was wondering if there may already be something similar in the ancient wiki pages, and where you would perhaps place it. The only two pages that at least remotely come close were those: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KmeleonDirectory http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/EndUserDocs No idea if that helps anything.

Ah, you're on to something! Made me play with sizes, and would you believe: with textzoom size 13 it ends up side-by-side, but all bigger and all smaller font sizes are okay - LOL! Ah, the page zooms is important too: Happens only in combination with FullZoom 8+9... Oh well, as long as we don't have any greater problems

Looks different for me in KM1.6: The "right" part is in the first line and right-centered, the "left" part is in the line below and left-centered. Perhaps the UA? Mine is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-DE; rv:1.9.1.16) Gecko/20101130 K-Meleon/1.6 (custom UA pref in about:config is general.useragent.override STRING )

Ah yes, now I remember having reported that earlier. This option was introduced by desga years ago for 1.6, but the new KM seems to be mostly or completely based on 1.5.4. So this option, while surprisingly showing up in the pref sheets, wasn't copied over into the current main.kmm too. I remember it's very easy to fix, just change a few lines in main.kmm, search for "openWindow&q

There exists a newer version with gecko31, but that's not a final version yet (alpha or beta), so probably shouldn't pop up. And have recently read somewhere in an old version that it should check only once a week or so. And it certainly should stop if you decline it. Which probably requires writing rights somewhere... Anyway, to stop this automatic check (and the alerts), remove the

It's an age old feature really. In between for years that pref was hidden, but if it got toggled accidentally somehow or by a macro, there was no way to figure this out unless you knew about it. Not sure how to solve. Perhaps have 2 choices in the menu: a macro that first toggles that pref ON and then saves, and below a macro that first toggles that pref OFF and then saves... ? and the sh

Sounds familiar... but that's a whole different and old trick: F2 > File Handling Is "Save As" folder checkmarked accidentally?? If yes, it does save, but secretly into that folder. Or check in about:config for "save" options. If that's it, creating a new (parallel) profile just for testing would fix it too. In the new profile only. But it's just one

I dimly remember some bug with empty bookmarks being discussed, but may be fixed meanwhile, no idea. Perhaps others know better. Which MK version are you using exactly?

Thanks for reporting back Otto (but frankly there are still enough bugs left, especially with plugins etc., better not expect KM to be perfect already ;-)

No prob, can login fine (with KM1.6 and blocked JS after killing css ) But the list needs more versions than only 74.0!

Seems to me like its setting a flag at page load... After thinking about the alternatives, my preferred solution would now be to prevent that flag being set at all to begin with. If it would automatically be removed after each page load. But no idea if then the global setting would kick in again, or if absence of that flag would mean "always allowed" or "always blocked",

Which is exactly what was to be demonstrated with my macro, LOL! The prefs and buttons are saying JS were allowed, but in reality JS-actions are still blocked on THIS page - so that setting is obviously lying! Until the next page load, then it will kick in again - on the newly loaded page. And it will be frozen again in the state it had when loading, be it allowed or blocked. Next test:

I know it can't help to fix anything, we three agree on this. But it can demonstrate better where the problem lies exactly to non-macrocoders who don't understand what we talk about at all, not seeing any probs with toggling ;-) And it can also make testing a bit easier. An unexpected little discovery though is that it works even worse on win7. Sigh. Oh great, and that's even in

James, if you get it into a var, you can use the very same method as this macro. Just add to your JS code at the end: document.title=dm (it could work with injectJS, but open(JS) may need that infamous functionwrap again, not sure)

No you're right John, it does NOT work if JS was off during load, but James had confirmed that too. Anyway, at the moment the macro is at version-4, please redownload. No major changes but just in case made the open(JS) now via $_code too. And added a 6th variant that uses injectJS with a function.

Thank you for testing and for finding a solution! Too crazy again that the same commands in the same KM version, only different Windows Systems, can suddenly stop working, as if things weren't already complicated enough with all the JS probs Have now updated the macro, if anyone used it please download again.

Hmm, the difference are 2 things: You define the code line first, and use " instead of ' Could you please check if it works if you replace the injectJS-line in the testJS-macro with those 2 lines? $_code="document.title='".$_new."';"; $_new=="" ? 0 : injectJS($_code); And if not, then try replacing with double quotes?

2) Clone Tab Am not completely sure if that is what you mean, but click Edit > Configuration > Menus then insert those lines, save and restart: !New{ Clone Tab=macros(Go_New) } Note, this works only if this is the currently active tab. Note-2: This is just a copy of the native function which is on the Go-Button: Right-click that button and choose "Open in New Page"

JS must be allowed *while* the page is being loaded. Then all 5 commands are working for me - on Vista. Yes I mean that usual JS pref you mentioned. But I remember you used the capability pref in the past too - perhaps that is still blocking...? Unless... win7 is the culprit and blocks yet more stuff than vista??

I see it's not possible for non macro-coders to understand the prob I mean. Please use this demo macro for testing INJECTJS, created all fresh just for you http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,130237 Actually this bug does not only affect macros, but is perhaps a security issue. Because the opposite is true too: if a page was loaded with JS allowed, and the user blocks JS man

A little macro to test how INJECTJS works in new K-Meleon versions. With 5 different workaround methods, which may or may not work. Just for testing! The test code opens an input field and then renames the tab (page title). Menu: Edit > TEST Javascript (on top) > 6 ways to Rename Title ------------ Mainly this is just a demo to show the prob with KM74gre31: Setting-4 does not wor

It should work. Click F2 > FileHandling > Tab By Type If you change the default action for pdf to system default program it should work (I hope). Another tip, at the job I have to use IE and it drove me crazy that I couldn't find any setting how to handle pdf links there. And I hate when it opens directly in the browser with crippled menu lines and smaller window compared to the

@guenter: How to: open "cfg.kmm" in macros folder. Search inside for text "commands.html", and right before that exchange "$ext"="txt" with "$ext"="html". Save and restart. I'm sure Dorian can do that faster in his own files than handling mail attachments and then having to check if the rest really is still all the same incl

Right-click is fixed in Vista. The prob with the last created toolbar jumping visible again in 74final in new profiles seems to be fixed too, but may just be coincident or other macros loaded. Still bug in cfg.kmm: Edit>Config>Commands List opens commands.html as source code, because of macro setting "$ext"="txt" Still settings cannot be toggled after page load
