The setting makes sence since k-m will only be given RAM that is available. The memory is needed to manover backward fast. You can switch that off but I would not do that. It reduces speed. Minimize k-m to tray gives the memory back. If You know that You want to start a memory hungry application You can do that. btw. As far as i recall all older k-m did also kept some memory, that is in

Most FFox extensions do not work. They are no k-meleon extensions. None that need the FFox front-end UI or bookmarks work. I will check on scrapbook but I do not expect it to work. AFAIK performance will improve with FFox2.

Use a skin version with bigger buttons: eg Phoenity Large (24 pixels), which is onne of the 3 default skins. The other two have 16 pixel (=default) I You need a bigger one yet? I do not know whether any bigger than 24 pix diameter exist but: If You have/get hold of grafics that are bigger the icons-size can be redifined.

if You double click into an open layer field in the layer bar it closes; if You double clik an emty space in the bar it opens layer - why right click or extra field or cross? Download and unzip the skin You like - make sure they have the same folder structure as the default skins after unzipping (when they do not work they have a "deeper" structure - that is what happened to me when I installed the first new skin ). Check whether You switched it off (without remembering). I do that on privacy bar which is hidden by default but can be activated in "view" menus item "toolbars" submenus item. Becuase i switch it off normally but need it for my webmail (just like You) once per session. Else check in Prefernces; General. And switch it on again.

No, AFAIK all Mozilla GRE based browsers have it - it is only very accessible here. With FFox or SMonk You would probably have to set it by hand in prefs.js or user.js.
