Try the below UserAgent. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0" EDIT: It worked with the above UserAgent. After several testings it stopped working and I don't know why. I deleted the profile folder in vain. I can't make it work again. Maybe roytam1 or somebody else has a plausible explanation.

- Export your bookmarks to HTML. You can then place that HTML-file into the subfolder of K-Meleon's Profiles folder. (It will replace the actual HTML-file for bookmarks.) - Edit your bookmarks and assign a nickname for the bookmarks folder. If you type that nickname into the address bar and hit Enter, all bookmarks of that folder will be opened. (Keep in mind that if you open too many

Quotecallahan I guess what caught my interest was the one line. "Protection versus Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities." All statements on their homepage are addressed to clueless people and as such should be taken with a pinch (I'd recommend a pail) of salt. The facts: One can enable Strict Site Isolation in Chrome and all of its derivates. QuoteTheoretically this coul

Eexcerpt from their homepage: QuoteGoogle Chrome is the best browser... True but only the half truth. Adding the missing half: "Google Chrome is the best browser to spy on and track clueless people." Wonder how many dozens of extensions it would need to make it roughly configurable (whereas "roughly" will still be an overstatement). WTF, Chrome doesn't even ha

KM-Goanna doesn't remember active Proxy after restart How to reproduce without connecting to the Internet: * set up KM for two proxies - e.g. ProxyHome(1) and ProxyOffice(2) * activate ProxyHome(1) and exit KM * start KM and switch to ProxyOffice(2) * exit KM * start KM and instead of ProxyOffice(2), still ProxyHome(1) is active (KM-Gecko works as expected.) @siria It looks like some software on your system is blocking that domain (smallsrv.com). Maximum protection, so to speak. Edit: After downloading and looking closer at the file: MD5 and file size of latest version (3.05.93) doesn't match with those declared on the official site. These allone are good reasons to dump the file regardless of its kind (malware or not)! -------------

Quotesiria I kept reading that those new risks would affect just about all (Intel) CPUs as far back as 1995 (or such, IIRC) It's not about Intel allone but Intel has the most severe design flaws and it's not for the first time! Some of those "design flaws" look like deliberately placed backdoors. Quotesiria But if already the first entry door, the browser, is safe, would

@siria None of the FirefoxESR branch is affected by Spectre. They simply lack the necessary (new) feature for being affected by Spectre.

Quoterodocop Firefox, Basilisk, IceWeasel and so on - ARE vulnerable. I tested with Firefox ESR 52.5.3 and the test says that it's not vulnerable. AFAIK Firefox 57 pushed some fixes, so it might come up clean in that test as well.

QuoteZvonko Hm. I downloaded KM76RC2, unpacked it and tested the Facebook Video link (with no changes on KM), but it doesn't play the video ... I tested once again with K-Meleon 76 RC2 (2016-12-20) on Win7. It plays the vid fine with the default settings. Anybody with Win7 or above can check with a fresh install. BTW, what's your OS? It wouldn't hurt to mention it when askin

Quotesiria QuoteYogiAs for the UA, it doesn't need a site specific override if one uses the useragent.kmm & useragent.js. Yes of course, a global toggle works just as well. The purpose of UA site exceptions is merely for convenience, not needing to remember which site needs what override exactly, each time. And next time, some weeks or months later, the user runs into the same prob a

You can use iFramesLocator made by JonHell. You won't see any images on your example-sites anymore. Read the instructions first and make sure that you place the files at their right location!!!

Quoteroytam1 QuoteYogi https://www.facebook.com/109236079477338/videos/484921468575462/ With KM-Goanna the site asks for Flash Player. With other browsers video plays fine (HTML5) without any flash plugin. facebook uses features heavily depending on browsers' user agent string. palemoon people are mad on changing user agent override because of this. for forcing facebook using html5

Added LAV Filters and it works now for me too! (? I'm on Win7 ?) No need for site specific UserAgent override. Works also with the usual UserAgent override as we have always done. BTW, I tested with K-Meleon 76 - Goanna 3.4.2 (Build 20180106)

If you mean this site, then I'd recommend to download K-Meleon 76 RC2 (2016-12-20). It's the last K-Meleon based on Gecko and the one I've tested with your link. It plays the vid with the default UserAgent.

You should always mention which K-Meleon you mean. There is a K-Meleon based on Gecko which actually works with your link. There is also a new K-Meleon in development based on Goanna which doesn't work for me either with your link. Even overriding the UserAgent didn't help.

Quotesiria Also wondering: does anyone know if KM keeps this file active in RAM during a session, like prefs.js? If yes, a protected disc-file wouldn't help much people with extremely long browser sessions... If remote servers can read the RAM then you have a much bigger problem than the issue we are talking about (cookies, passwords, e.t.c.).

Quotecallahan Also, as Yogi posted: "In KM-Goanna you can set - network.stricttransportsecurity.enabled to false to achieve the same result." I did both ... is this OK or 'overkill' ??? Basically the same result. Main reason for posting that pref was to show which feature you kill by write-protecting that text file. Quotecallahan ... also I found this inform

Copy the file to a place of your choice. Rename the file, e.g. startupCache.8.little.zip. Now you can open the file with the archiver of your choice and you can examine its content.

Confirmed after renaming the macro. However, deleting the startupCache fixes the problem. If a new macro will be added or an old one renamed, the startupCache has to be deleted before starting K-Meleon.

@siria Could reproduce it. Deleted startupCache and can't reproduce it anymore.

QuoteJ.G. Some values set by default by KMeleon are included to be sure they are disabled for future releases. Sorry, this is above my head. @J.G. Your prefs at first glance (I didn't go through all of them) user_pref("fehlt security.ssl3.dhe_dss_aes_128_sha", false); There is no "fehlt" in about:config. All your prefs containing that word are useless. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before adding a pref check the default one. Example: user_pref("

Best way to avoid supercookies (not fingerprinting) would be a private mode browsing implemented in K-Meleon. Wonder if workarounds with a second profile folder and tinkering with policies at OS level is the best solution for the average user.
