I think I have found the source of the problem. k-meleon can't connect to ssl sites through proxy even though IE and firefox 3.5 have no such problems. The sites I mentioned require authenticate through SSL. I updated the GRE, the problem still persists.

Don't know it myself, but keep reading around here that facebook wants the user agent set to firefox (in Tools/User Agent or on the privacy-toolbar), and if that's not enough, you can try yet to enable ALL cookies (F2/privacy), and if that's still not enough, just wait a moment for someone who's not as clueless as me ;-)

I'm using тхе 1.5.3 version and when i first installed it i had no problem with it. Then suddenly i can't type on facebook - i click on the status bar where i'm supposed to write something and letterst just won't appear which is really annoying. I re-installed it but the problem won't go away. Does anyone have an idea how it can be fixed? I'll be really grateful

You will find a GRE updater by desga2 on dirupted's extention page. Make sure that You set UserAagentString to spoof firefox. The pages You mention are known to have a browser switch that does not know K-Meleon. Also have a look into error console, whether it gives You error.

The only place recently I've seen a Java problem is on Facebook, trying to upload pictures their Java uploader app. It causes KM to lag real bad and I've not seen this problem on other browsers. Also as I've mentioned before with flash intensive sites and I minimize the browser to the taskbar, sometimes you can get it to come back from the taskbar, it just locks into the taskbar
