I have found no Browser better than K-Meleon. I simply hate Firefox. Bloatware to the extreme. On the Wilders site - software, hardware & general services, Other software & services, K-Meleon Browser, they talk about K-Meleon being dead or soon to be dead. I have a real problem with this. Can you all please ease my mind about this article? Do I have to go through the agony of tryi

Just info. Needed to go on the HP Forum. To do this I had to use the infamous Internet Explorer. I was Binged all over the place. Yuk. K-meleon would not work on the HP Forum. Sometimes we are just forced to use products we can't stand......

Well I waited till the new ESET SS 5 came out to see if that had any effect on the FreebieJeebies popup. It didn't. Also it doesn't show up in the REVO uninstaller. Did find out that it is a product from England. Seems like a good idea to avoid anything coming from England. Adding it to the HOST file had no effect whatsoever in stopping it or I entered it incorrectly. Last resor

Thanks guys for your help. I have already set the Media Player to disable. Was kind of waiting for the next version of K-Meleon. But I guess I could install it in K-Meleon2. Not sure how to handle the bookmarks. Eset advised me to install Google chrome to see if that made a difference. I followed their instructions and I have to say Google Chrome is a mess. Uninstalling it is also a mes

Eset advised to put Chrome on my puter to see if I still got the HeegieJeebies pop up. Sure do not want to use it permanently. The kid that wrote the main screen has no idea what to do. Also can't import the K-meleon bookmarks. Ran Combofix and that didn't solve any problems. Ran Malwarebytes and it didn't find anything.

This one is interesting and very annoying. My virus program, ESET SS, is set for a two way stop of incoming and outgoing garbage. Here is the messgage it produced when I signed on this morning: application: windows media player network sharing service publisher: unknown remote computer: FreeStaffWorld.com (127.0.0.1) remote port; tcp 2869(icslap) So did my addition

Thank you again Gorgon. I would be blessed if I never saw the popup again!!! I was blessed again with another popup. Here is what's in my HOSTS file by Hostsexpert: c1 127.0.0.1 FreeStaffWorld.com 127.0.0.1 FreeStuffWorld.com The 2nd entry starts 9 positions to the right. Doesn't show in this message correctly. AS you can see they are playing games by changing one

Thank you again Gordon. I am running the 32 bit version of Windows 7 Pro. The host file is: Windows\system32\drivers\etc I will try Hostsexpert as Hostsman seems vague. Not that I won't have trouble with Hostsexpert. But it seems more friendly than Hostsman. Here is the address you requested: http://www.freestaffworld.com That's how it appears in the host file. No # sign in

Hi Gordon, Got another one today and tried to follow your instructions. I was not allowed to post in the Hosts file. I am the administrator and still no go. The address in Windows 7 Pro is different than what you stated. Windows\system32\drivers\etc The goodies on the popup have changed slightly for what it's worth.

Thanks again Gordon. Lot to chew on there. Will give it my best shot. I will try the "Hostsman" as I am leary of messing around with the registry.

Thank you for responding Gordon. Here are some of the things I see on the popup: 1: instant coupon codes & great deals 2: get your auto rate code here 3: Keep track of your favorite Celebs 4: chick 'N Bash 5: save up to $800 on auto ins. 6: savings up to 40% on auto Ins. 7: get your free gift I also have this same question posted on the Windows 7 forum: under security\ Freeb

Uploading an image to the K-Meleon site is way to comlicated for me. I feel that K-Meleon is letting this crap through somehow. I am not to savvy on the settings in K-Meleon. I have Java disabled but if I try to disable Javascript my home page fails. God forbid that I should have to go back to IE9 or worse Firefox.

Thanks guys for your suggestions. None seemed to work for me. Maybe I did them incorrectly. I got the FreebiesJeebies again today. My ISP is ATT and my antivirus is ESET SMART SECURITY and it is up to date. My wife is running XP Pro with the same ISP and antivirus. She is not getting the popup. Possibly because she is running internet explorer. I am not saying this is caused by K-Melion.

This pop up shows up every so often unrequested by me. At the top appears K-Meleon. Does that mean that K-Meleon hosts it? Thanks for any info.

I tried running the latest Ccleaner on Wiffies puter. It is using IE and Windows XP Pro. No Problem. Ccleaner at startup ran in about 3 seconds. So it is Ccleaners use of Firefox and their treatment of K-meleon that is causing the problem IMHO.

Thank you very much Vasa1 for taking your time to answer. I know Ccleaner advises only running Ccleaner at shutdown. I run it at start up because I have a two way firewall setup and I get to see how much junk is trying to be sent out of my Puter without my permission. I thought that by running Ccleaner at start up I might be able to thwart some of this. I also looked for K-meleon and co

This is NOT a K-meleon problem. But I thought you all could give me some insight as to what is going on with Ccleaner. I am using V 1.6.0 of K-meleon. Ccleaners previous version 3.02.1343 worked just fine. Now they have added K-meleon to their list of things to clean. The previous version took about 3 seconds to execute at startup. The current version takes almost a minute. Unacceptable.
