Hi, if you ARE inerested in reading about the "Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement" you better search for ACTA in Wikipedia - better than to follow the SPAM link in the above post. @ Stephen: nobody in his right mind believes you're really in sorrow about ACTA as long as you pretend to link to important information - by linking to an obscure "online manga reading service

Hi, Quotecactus But some web page designs are hard-wired to prevent this. and I presume now that that is what panzer meant, too. Sorry I did not think of that - that's because I haven't seen such a page for a long time. Those are pages, then, that don't have "text" file type content? Selecting text to copy & paste to notepad simply is not possible? So in most c

Hi, here's an UNTESTED, non-comprehensive list of webmail services that offer (among other offers) free webMail accounts not confined to being accessed from the "major" browsers only. Included are some browsers that are not explicitly stated as being "confined" in my source: wikipedia - Comparison_of_webmail_providers AOL ContactOffice Excite FastMail.FM G

Quotedisrupted, a while ago: why not forget about webmail and use a client like outlook express or thunderbird or windows mail etc. On the other hand: why not use some other free webMail service? From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_webmail_providers I extracted a list of webMail services which I'll put in a new thread in the "Extensions" forum ... maybe someone ca

Quotepanzer what is actually the best for your eyes Isn't that a question that does require some medical advice, which should be given after an examination of your very own special pair? Quotepanzer Which options are best for tired eyes? Well, a medical advice even I can give: If your eyes are perfectly okay again after a good night's sleep, the advice is: keep'em shut for

Hi, Charlie, maybe you should just try Readable, it works with less interaction, I guess. On sites you know to cause problems to identify the content part, just select that with your mouse, only then click the button - worked perfectly so far. As to the edit field thing: I never thought of using it there, will try right away - well, after copying this to the clipboard, that is. After tes

Hi, panzer, eyes can be tired in so many ways, displays display so differently, and tastes vary widely. I, for one, hate serifed fonts, though many say they are easier to read. The most important thing for my 60-year-old pair, (- myopic, too, from childhood) has nothing to do with Readable, though: it's a line in my userContent.css: * {font-weight: 900 !important; } which makes an

Hi, there's no real need to read it yourself - it just states it was reopened, nothing else NEW. As was stated here, but not only here, before, everything there indicates this is a hotmail bug, namely bad sniffing, not being caused by any browser. From the browser's perspective, the simple and effective method to handle such site "bugs" is to present a fake UserAgent

Hi, I guess both browsers have both files, but: Firefox doesn't use it's bookmarks.html, and Seamonkey doesn't use its places.sqlite (- with the programs not running - start them after renaming). You can try whether they are needed to be able to run the browsers: rename them to *.hxxl and *.sxxite respectively. Note a file that is needed doesn't necessarily have

Hi, I used the same Profile with 1.5.4 and 1.6.0 from the first time I started the latter. That included the prefs.js. Though I DID make some changes to the profile, and haven't used it from 1.5.4 for quite a while, 1.6.0 has been using the abcdefg.s file from the start. Probably because the line signon.SignonFileName had kept its value of abcdefg.s. Havent tried to save a new passw

Quoteguenter Dorian's post? Ooops! - I simply didn't look for who opened it - i only reckoned that the gestures.dll offered there would probably come with 99.99% of the current downloads? It does have the same file size as the one in km1.1.3 and works flawlessly in there. I took that as a sure sign of the problem being addressed in that thread having been solved ... so ... Or

Hi, I made a bundle of files, folders, and a HowTo to ease creating a portable K-Meleon from your local installation & profile. It can be downloaded from drop.io/SoerenB (370 kB, HowTo included as .rtf. The HowTo as pdf is a separate download of 93 kB - same content, slightly better looks). I spent quite some time on it, that's why I couldn't possibly tell whether it

Hi, JamesD, QuoteSoerenB, Sorry about your menu. - No need to be sorry. Nothing I couldn't handle, and probably caused by my sloppy copying & some misconfiguration. All is OK, now. QuoteShould I place this elsewhere? - Well, MHO concerning that, as you cared to ask: I'd rather have that in Tools/Settings, or /Misc, but that is not really a problem.

Quotemyself your code works correctly here! ... well, it wreaks havoc on my menus, which are widely customized, widely but not very carefully & not according to the rules. PS: I tried again, moving it from the "Config" to my own "MyMisc" menu - now it's perfect.

Hi, JamesD, your code works correctly here! Just a quick guess: Maybe it works with LANGUAGES ONLY? Without the region *extension*? Mine is just: de,en - not: de-de,en-gb (which I would choose had I the impression it would change anything ... No offence meant ...). edit: PS: that guess was wrong - see desga2's posting, down 3 from this one.

Hi, Frustration, ran across a solution to a completely unrelated problem these last hours, but it showed on one machine sparing the other, so you may just want to check (not much hope, though .. I wrote here): Quotemyself I had always started the "buggy" KM from a shortcut that DID show the complete path ("R:\KM\k-meleon.exe -new") in the "Target" box, BUT: t

Hi, cactus, tell me which skin you use, and if you have a toolbar in the upper right corner (or whereever you'd like that button). PLUS tell me your wishes what actions you want in it's context menu. By default, I would include Minimize, ToggleMax/Restore, CloseAllWindows. You may want the ListofOpenWindows, RestartPlus (if you use that). In theory, you can additionally have
