Hi guenter - Quote/browser/defaults/profile/extensions/*.xpi (or unpacked extension folder) I was merely quoting George, to show where he thought the "extensions" folder(s) may be found. I do appreciate that "default" is spelt with an "s". But I am unsure what he means by "or to the extensions folder in your Profile Default Folder"? Thanks for th

Hi JamesD - Thank you for those tips, I will certainly make myself familiar with the links. QuoteIt is best to keep your code locally, just as a backup. How true! There's no place like the HDD , the cloud sucks! I do have to suss things like the ToC. I always used the default that Wikipedia supplies, but sometimes... Normally, it uses the same internal referencing that any other

Hi siria - Yes, profiles seem to be a lot like chrome folders: confusing. I got the template folder bit, it was fairly obvious. "ProfileS.ini" - my bad. I thought I had typed the "s"... I'll edit that. I had put it into the list to remind myself where to find that file. Guenter had mentioned it as QuoteDefault: ./User Name/%Appdata%/K-Meleon/f8me5h5v.default

Quotesiria Was wondering if there may already be something similar in the ancient wiki pages... Hi siria! Ancient, yes. How much surgery should we look at? Some of those go back a long way! And worse, some pages don't reference child pages (or not that I can see.) Gordon.

Quotesiria Was wondering if there may already be something similar in the ancient wiki pages, and where you would perhaps place it. The only two pages that at least remotely come close were those: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KmeleonDirectory http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/EndUserDocs No idea if that helps anything. I had a look at those, and maybe we want to partition some of th

Just added SideBySide Manifest error bug. Yes, the tracker is very easy to use. I thouht JIRA on ReactOS was good, but Flyspray focuses on simplicity. Gordon.

Dunno if this belongs here or somewhere else. Check the screenshot at https://www.dropbox.com/s/51yeogbwkz1g4sc/ForumMenuList.png?dl=0. I normally run most windows in a "restored" state. (Why does Microsoft call it that?) But "Maximised" does not fix it. Opera 12.17 and IE9 (!) render correctly. EDIT: Oops. None of my browsers render it correctly. Possibly a Foru

I think everyone is agreed we need something to put in the Wiki to tell others how and what. I can chuck things in there, but I need to know what I type is correct. Just for starters, to help people like me who get confused easy, something on the basic K-Meleon folder structure. As I see it, a default install will give you this on Vista/W7, possibly on W8 as well: C:\Program Files (x86)

Quotesiria...if it got toggled accidentally somehow or by a macro, there was no way to figure this out unless you knew about it. Yes. Opera v12 has a contextual RC menu, so "Save Linked Content As..." and "Save to Download folder" if the link was attached to an image, but "File>Save As..." which I would read as a generic "Save this". OK. Found it. Problem: Save Page As... works exactly like Save Link target As... which has no accerator key. So the F2prefs apply equally to both. This needs to be changed: on one we need to say where we want it to go on each time we use it, the other can be a default. In Prefs, I had "Browsing>File Handling>Save As option" checked as "Use Save As Folder for Save As o

Hi JamesD - I'm using the Klassic skin, it has a really nice Windows feel, the Tools button seems to be a '74 addition. No "real" changes, but have looked at getting MIMEtypes to work properly, but don't fully understand the KM folder structure yet. Was undoing the MIMEtypes changes by deleting files and folders--I had been dropping them in to where I understood (mayb

Running KM74 in W7HPx64 SP1, so far it's been good, mostly. Today (for the first time with KM) I needed to save a page so File>Save Page As... and nothing happened. Right Click>Save Page As... and nothing happened. Tools Button>Save Page As... and nothing happened. Ctrl-S and nothing happened. I did a search, but it seems not to have been addressed directly. QuoteguenterOld DOS used ASCII. ANSI was the default character set in Windows up to Windows 95. Do you remember ANSI.SYS? Absolutely necessary if you wanted to do spiffy things like placement of characters, colours, and whatever in DOS. Not sure if DOS2 had it, but it was certainly there in DOS3, both PC- and IBM-. I don't think DR-DOS had it... I used ANSI.SYS to build a "GUI"

How do I change the TLS version in KM? https://www.howsmyssl.com/ tells me K-Meleon only has TLS 1.0, when TLS 1.1 and 1.2 are both readily available. I have looked in Configuration>>tls, which gives me Quotesecurity.tls.version.max;1 and security.tls.version.min;0 but no clues as to how I can increase the version level. And searching this forum over the "Last Year" gi

Hi guenter - Strike out anything I said about SideBySide and rvjmimedit-km74: after a refreshing day spent stopping big trucks (read: 18-wheelers) by standing in front of them, I realise the only connection to rvjmimedit-km74 is that I was stopping and restarting K-Meleon many times... OK, solved it. Well, sort of. I'm afraid the devs have to do the fix. See http://www.mazecomputer.com/sxs/help/whatis.htm for a description; also https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/event-id-33-and-80-sidebyside-errors/9ad6156c-f77c-4b7d-a991-7db209947c5b for tracing solutions and a mention of QuoteMicrosoft Visual C++ version not being backward compatible

Hi guenter - QuoteIt has become abandonware on the K-Meleon side. That's a shame. We do need something that can enter new mime-types, I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to look at strange things on the 'net! QuoterodocopThat is your PC config what causes the glitch. I also think that is on the right track. But it has to be a Windows API glitch, 'cos Opera works the site perfectly. Hi guenter, JamesD, rodocop - I'm a bit suspicious of the UA string theory. (rodocop, I'll try your new UA later...) ONE: IE9x32 also fails to show the Google map in the Fuelwatch search results. TWO: Opera 12.01 does show the map. THREE: I inserted the Opera UA {Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 6.1; U; WOW64; en) Presto/2.10.289 Version/12.01} into KM and could not see the map. FO

Quotecaktus My only concern now is the few web sites that seem determined to ignore "GECKO" but this becomes less and less a problem. Unfortunately, it is an increasng problem. Check out Fuelwatch. For this excercise, just click "Search"... Then click the map symbol at left end of each entry. OK, it may be my prefs have completely scrambled the call to Google Maps. But
