I notice that to. A few browsers a couple amongst the ones you mentioned I downloaded and intalled them. Within a minute of running them I uninstalled them lol. Not so much the look but the lag factor in them. Thanks for posting it gives an idea what the others have to offer.

no virus at all. Like I said any earlier version of k-meleon works including updated versions of older ones. Its just anything new won't run and when I downloaded the lunascape gecko engine and it done the same thing it doesn't appear to be a kmeleon problem.

I was gonna put this in the thread with the person that has the same problem but his is linux. 1.52 of kmeleon would close at random times for no reason. QTwebs executable is not 11mb its only 4.6mb. Even on there site it says 11. I wonder why? I also downloaded lunascape but I don't think I will use it. Its 30mb without the gecko and webkit plugin. I reinstalled SRWare Iron which is basically google chrome I never really liked the browser because you can't modify it like you can k-meleon. Anyway on to my story installed it is 33.2 mb I stripped it down to 18.1mb I could have taken it down to about 11 but it wouldn't run with the iron.dll and iron.exe compressed. Just thought i would share that.

Quotegvgerman I haven't had this problem, per se, but I've had problems w/ the latest K-M versions when re-using previous profiles. Suggest you rename your current K-M folder to keep it "safe" and install K-M to a new folder and with a new profile. There is no previous profile. Its a fresh install of windowsXP and SP3 and K-Meleon.

I am having the same problems as this guy. I never have before and I read this before I put 1.52 on a clean install. It now has done it a few times. I will probably just go back to 1.50 like on my other machine. I never tried 1.51 but 1.5 was stable enough for me. I don't know why but an IE based browser loads 2-6 seconds after I click on it. Gecko based like Firefox and K-Meleon take forever and always have. 30 seconds to a minute everytime no quicker then that sadly. I downloaded opera last night and it only take 15-20 seconds to load. You can say what do I do to measure it but its the simple fact that the file downloaded in half the time it should have so that means it downloaded faster lol. Its seems computerly impossible(sorta like physcially impossible lol) but it did happen that is why I mentioned it.

I have said in a few of my post that I use dialup. It normally connects at 42-49Kbs and downloads at 4.3 to 5.7kbs. I have read the high average is 5.7 to sometimes 7.8 if you got a good line. I have never used Opera you might want to ask someone else but from the reviews I seen people say it is like firefox in the startup and running speed. Thats why I didn't try it. I am always trying to find something that uses lower resources, has a quicker start, and loads pages faster.
