It's possible that this is the bug.

Quotestevix I've been using K-Meleon as a secondary browser to Opera for some time now, and have been slowly watching the balance tilt in K-Meleon's favor. Very, very impressive performance, security and configurability. Kudos warranted! Yes, I've noticed that although Opera 10.50 is a bit faster than previous versions K-Meleon is often faster & loads better on certain page

There has been some controversy about the 'scroll bar' on the ballot screen though. I don't know, I haven't installed the ballot screen update, in fact I've 'hidden' it as I don't need it.

Quoteguenter I object to a competing browser vendor like MS to decide whether K-Meleon is present or not! Yes, trusting MS to play fair was a bit of a mistake I think. I think the 'ballot screen' does go a bit to offset the MS hegemony. What are they so afraid of? Honest competition?

I installed KM 1.5.4 'over the top' of 1.5.3 & apart from the toolbars returning to default everything seems fine. All of my bookmarks were OK & everything seems great. It only took me a few minutes to re-customise. Out of curiosity, generally what do you prefer, clean install or over the top?

Quoteslayer I'm with the 1.5.4 version right now. I deleted everything except the bookmarks, I have a fresh installation now. I need to find the spell checker, the one with the installer. This one?

Quotesiria Better be careful guys if you have done a lot of customizing: Make a backup copy of the profile folder and of the KM program folder... Overriding does override sometimes things, like additional user agents in prefs folder, customized klassic and phoenity skins etc. OK, thanks for the info siria. I had only done a bit of customising & it was easy to reproduce for 1.5.4. Plus

Quoteslayer The auto updater surprised me, I'm going to install it soon! I didn't realise I had to download the auto-updater macro. I'm just glad the manual update went smoothly as this was the first time I have really updated KM. Everything seems OK anyway!

This was my first K-Meleon upgrade & I was a little apprehensive. I have found that the auto-update isn't working for me, I have ticked both boxes but when I restart the browser the second box (Macro Extension) doesn't stay ticked. I may not have the macro. Anyway, I manually downloaded 1.5.4 over 1.5.3 & it seems fine so far, all bookmarks & even my GB-English dictio

I find K-Meleon's default & the SeaMonkey 1 spoof user-agent works fine in You Tube. The Firefox 2 doesn't however & I get the 'old browser message'. Weird eh? :s

Why use K-Meleon? Once upon a time I used Firefox 2. It was great until Fx #3 & it got a tad bloaty for my laptop, then I discovered SeaMonkey & it was great until, like Firefox, it wouldn't load properly in some interactive sites (Ajax script). Besides, I couldn't get the adblocker to filter properly in my country with either of them. Then I discovered K-Meleon. I ju

Will 1.5.4 final be an automatic update? I have the Update Checker - Occasionally looks for new K-Meleon releases ticked in Preferences: K-Meleon Plug-Ins.

Quotedisruptedlast supported mozilla is very out-of-date and last icab classic is lacking..classilla is the only choice to keep your old mac surfing..especially when it comes to new js/ajax websites Speaking of ajax websites Firefox 3.6 & SeaMonkey 2.0.2 (Windows) still has a page loading problem. K-Meleon doesn't suffer from this problem.

Maxthon 3 looks interesting ~ Maxthon's upcoming major version, 3.0, currently under alpha testing, will support two engines, Trident and Webkit.[9] Information and pictures of the new version have been released, showing that the browser will be able to quickly switch between several browsing modes, offering greater speed or standard compliance. The new version is also said to score 100/1

OK, thanks for the info. I know Maxthon is quite popular. Avant has a lot of fans as well. I'm just not a huge fan of the Trident engine I reckon. I downloaded Sleipnir once but I wasn't overly impressed with it.

All I know is that they are based on the Trident layout engine, which is enough for me not to use them LOL! :s What features does the 'Green Browser' have that KM could need?

I've heard of the 'Green Browser'. Are either of them any better than K-Meleon?

I think it's a distinct possibility that people may be casting multiple votes but in my opinion the figures seem about right. Camino is a Mac browser & thus a smaller user base, Maxthon is fairly popular but I don't know many people who actually admit to using it. As for Flock, I had a bad experience with it once & will never download it again. I know it has its fans but I thoug

I think K-Meleon wins as the best independent browser! I had never heard of Flashpeak before & I had a look at their site. I checked it out in Firefox as well just to see what McAfee's Site Advisor did; it turned an amber colour & warned that some people had reported some potentially unwanted programs with some downloads.

I suppose we will. A lot of firms, businesses, schools & colleges still use IE 6 so I am not sure how they will fare either. Maybe KM will have updated by the time they actually stop supporting older browsers.

Is it just a matter of 'browser sniffing' or will KM be genuinely incompatible with Gmail? For example, I can use Yahoo! Mail Classic with KM & it works fine. I can spoof the user agent to use the Yahoo! All New Mail but it doesn't work properly. When I send an email the address book doesn't recognise if I have them in it or not.

Quotepanzer Davy, use Policies Manager instead of NoScript. I've uninstalled NoScript, is Policies Manager a Mozilla extension? EDIT: I've found it! It looks experimental. How exactly does it differ from NoScript?
