No idea James, there are no rules about it written on the page, so it looks like everyone is supposed to do as he likes best Personally I think that some macros are more important to be updated than others, e.g. if the original one was rather old already, ore if there were important changes like more functions or such. I just imagine that once a user has gotten his first macros from the page, h

Thank you guys, that really helps! So I've just posted now the new version, hope you're okay with it: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/MacroLibrary Newest on top, and Web Services are now divided into 4 groups, trying to get a better overview. Only the video chapter is mixed with 2 'local' video macros, but otherwise the long "General" section remains one

Am in the train of sorting the macro library a bit, and found that by far most of the web services are sorted with "newest on top". So I sticked to that. Now I notice that the "General" macros are mostly sorted "oldest on top". Oh well. Do you get furious if I sort them all "newest on top"? It somehow makes more sense... People start reading and picking the

I was rather surprised when I recently discovered (at my job, no choice of alternatives) that Adobe Reader isn't just a static text-and-images program! That thing is actually much the same as a browser, it uses *javascript*, all sorts of interactive stuff, even plays flash videos - crazy! :O Who really needs that in a pdf?? I for one have never come across such a multimedia pdf, or didn'

No idea about CCF, but have you already tried one of the two ways for the 'normal' KM? Since it's only about toggling a text in the user prefs, I'm very optimistic it could work in 'special' KM versions too. One of those two ways is the good old preferences trick: Go to "about:config", type "agent", click to change...

Funny, but I don't think people who really are eager to help take it as offense if someone takes them by their 4 times (!) repeated offer. You have just proven again that people who really are eager to help don't claim it with words over and over, but do so in action, see all other posts in this thread, by Guenter, James and ndebord. If you want to take my request as offense that's

Lots of cool stuff learned the last months, just didnt get around to type it here ;-) High time for two more bits *blush* And remember that thread isn't just for me, it's for everyone's litte tips! SKINS: Ever had trouble when moving toolbars, that one steadfastly refuses to stick at the beginning of a new line, driving you C-R-A-Z-Y??  Try this: Goto "about

No sorry, checked it and nothing new there. Only tells how to toggle the cache setting, but that's not the problem, the prob is how to force-load a page from cache, if existing, automatically in a macro. Guess I've just written a lot of nonsense about that cache thing, but it's complicated and keeps confusing me!! *sigh* Testing without macro but just by clicking the go-butto

Well, I understand and sure support your request, being a mass tab user myself  Then again, my screen is too small anyway, but if I had a widescreen... oh yeah Unfortunately can't imagine it will happen anytime soon, as long as we have that manpower prob and he or they are already working hard just trying to get the new gecko versions KM-like slim and fast, replacing that bloated sql

Thanks for helping Soeren, but the macro functions themselves are all completed and working for a while. The one big problem is still: How to NOT make (at least not ALL) users run away screaming when they try to customize inside, in that big mess currently?? And in the next step will have to divide the giant menu into smaller (less scary) chunks, but that should be feasable once the #1 is done ;

To see the differences you'd have to post 2 screenshots ;-) But consider that there are user settings for font families and *minimum* font sizes. Most likely your browsers have just different settings for this: Edit > Preferences > Page Display > Fonts

Great list, Soeren! Quotezorobabel1. In Opera I just copy my sessions files and that's it. I just can't find the session files, please help me! Some basics for better understanding settings in KM ;-) All your stored sessions incl. "previous" one are stored in your profile. Click Edit > Configuration > Profile directory, then right-click on "prefs.js" an

Quotecaktus@ siria, I believe 1.6 has been dropped since 1.7 is now in the works but I can can nolonger find any reference to this. That is well possible, but not necessarily so KM154 and KM16a were also developed parallel, with different gecko versions, and that seems quite normal when I look at other programs. The reference was here QuoteDorianNew build. It fixes the high cpu usage of previ

Oh well, as usual, got sidetracked again from my other nearly finished macros, but came across that function and couldn't stop myself playing, and it grew, and grew, and greeeew... ;-) SPLIT SCREEN IN 2 FRAMES - can contain the same or different pages. Links open in their own frame, except if you click pseudo-SIDEBAR: Then All LINKS clicked in frame-1 then open in frame-2 - Th

I hate Vista GRRR  Just had a longer struggle again, just to figure out in the end that in KM154RC tabs at the bottom are crashing the browser at startup - but only IF the kmeleon.tabs.minWidth is set to LESS than 8px, and the system is VISTA (pro32). Funnily, when I started instead the kmeleonW9x.exe, it worked perfectly fine in crazy Vista too, with 7px width!! Of course I wanted to che

Hi, glad you like it, I like it too It always amazes me how new people come and post that K-Meleon is SO impressive faster than their other browsers, but when there are comparisons in 'professional' PC mags, they make it in such a gimmick-heavy environment and probably lots of the newest scripts, that KM lands at best somewhere in the middle field, if not even at the low end :-( Hope

I'm no expert at all, but think that it depends mostly from the state at the moment of LOADING a page. It often seems to me that once a page is loaded, it stays as it is. For blocked images for example it's quite clear, they aren't going to load automatically afterwards if at the moment of first page load they were blocked. That needs reloading. And they aren't going to vanish

The CSS block exists, it's called "Colors" in the privacy menu. Yeah, perhaps not the best wording ;-) But I just went to that site with KM16a4. Javascript off. User agent default (K-Meleon). Clicked some lyrics link. There were no lyrics, just a warning box: QuoteYou must enable javascript to view this page. This is a requirement of our licensing agreement with music

Well, someone sooo eager to help, here's a starter: How in the world do I force a page to load from cache, if the browser was at startup set to anything else but "always load from cache"?? Toggling the pref on the fly doesnt change a thing, and neither changing it in F2. Am currently scanning the web for a helpful little javascript line to use in a macro, but no luck so far :-(

Well, am used to struggle with such stuff myself, so finally took a look inside: Quotemapdom_BuildMenu{ setmenu("_Config_General",popup,"Image Options",8); setmenu("Image Options",macro,"Load Images",loadallimg); setmenu("Image Options",macro,"Block Images",blkallimg); setmenu("Image Options",macro,"Origin Website&q

Hmm, no idea, and haven't tried it myself, but perhaps try with "-1" instead of "8" at the end (just wild guessing). "-1" just means add to the end of the menu, no matter how many lines it has. But I think this would also fit very well into the privacy menu to the other blocks Just replace ??macroname?? with that from "origin website" and add to t

He has just moved his site to another domain. Noticed it when he updated the links in the wiki That's my new favorite for macro code, the other pages should work the same way http://home.arcor.de/cool.mckluus/software/kmeleon/project/reference/macrolanguage/index2.html

Well, what I'm saying and practicing for years, turn javascript/flash/cookies off and you're *almost* on the safe side And that's why I love the privacy bar so much, all blocked settings in sight and just one button-click away if actually needed for a page

Why, they don't see anything of me  I'm surfing with everything blocked and especially javascript off by default (unless required occasionally, that's what the privbar is here for ) Okay, and now I'll boldly switch js on and click that hot button again.... ;-) Oh well, first thing I noticed was that google doubleclick-adds were loading! That much for privacy con
